“Have I done something wrong?” Cody said.
“No, babe, you’re absolutely perfect, as far as I’m concerned,” Jace said.
“Is it us?”
“You know better than that—of course not…well, actually it is about us, but not in a bad way. At least, I don’t think it’s bad. I’m sure Bailey showed you the ring Macon got him.”
“Yes,” Cody said, “It’s really nice.”
“I didn’t want you to think that I haven’t thought about our rings.”
“That’s not such a biggie to me, Jace. I know you’ve had other things on your mind. Bailey and Macon just happened to see the rings while they were out, and liked them.”
“The thing is, I was sort of hoping you’d like these,” Jace said, then reached under his side of the bed and brought out a ring box. “They’re very simple, but tell me what you think.” He opened the box.
