Chapter 23 The Present Looking at that note made my heart skip a beat. Anthony was watching me, like some sort of Guardian Angel. It hurt in a way, knowing he was so close and yet refused to come and see me. But he was there, somewhere. He obviously still cared. "What's that?" I jumped, not expecting the hand of my mother that was placed on my shoulder. Quickly, I shoved the note in my pocket. Having to explain to my mother about Anthony was not on my agenda for the day.
