I was ready to leave for work. Comfortable in my black skirt and red top, accompanied with black flats, I decided to not put makeup. I grabbed my bag and headed out. I looked over my picket fence and saw a little girl in uniform with her school bag slung over her shoulder. She grinned at me and waved and I waved back smiling. I entered my car and drove off to my place of work. **** Work was highly uneventful and I just faced my job. Getting a promotion wasn't easy at this Company and I needed the promotion to up my salary and standard of living. I was a receptionist at the common and it sucked always getting angry customers which you couldn't scream back at no matter how much they drove you crazy. After work...I headed back home. I entered my house and slumped on my couch. My place was a total dump! I needed money for a renovation. That's why I was working so hard to get this promotion. But it seemed no one even noticed how hard I work.
