A/N - thank you for the reviews.
Third Person POV
There was no breeze in the air, no animals making any noise, not even the moon was out. The sky was densely clouded in thick clouds, obscuring the moon from view. A heavy fog had set in, and you could barely see what was in front of you, however a large cave entrance loomed up above, and could be seen very clearly. It had an eerie feel to it, a dark aura covered the entire thing.
A lonesome figure sat on a throne. If one were to stand close to him, they could feel the brimming power that was soon to be unleashed. Off to the side were the three bodies of the scientist men, all dead.
The man was dressed in pitch black armor, a beautiful long sword pitch black sword in his hand. He snapped his fingers and the fog covering the entrance of the cave dissipated and standing in at the mouth of the cave was a man wearing a black cloak over the armor of Achilles, his sword strapped to his back.
"Welcome to the start of a new era, Perseus!" Laughter echoed through the cave once more and Perseus cracked a smile.
Ω
Erebus snapped his fingers once more and a tendril of a darkness sprung from beneath the cold earth beneath them and took form of a human figure no bigger than five feet tall, it had no facial features, the only noticeable things were it's bright yellow slitted eyes devoid of any emotion.
"Master Erebus." He bowed his head and waited for his order.
Erebus' dark eyes stared into it's bright yellow eyes before speaking, "Get the bodies ready."
The shadow figure nodded his head and disappeared and appeared in front of a mausoleum like structure, he walked through the entrance and descended down the stairs, the room he walked into was dimly lit with torches, and in the very center of the room laid a multiple coffins.
He walked forwarded and with each step the torches started to burn brighter. He stopped in front of the coffin and pushed the lid off, there lying inside was a handsome man encased in water. The name on the nameplate read Spartacus.
Walking over to the other side, the shadow figure pushed the coffin lid off another coffin and inside laid a warrior that the world hadn't seen for thousands of years.
Achilles.
One by one the shadow figure removed several more lids and the heroes of Greek mythology stood before him.
They had no freewill.
The shadow figure's eyes glowed a bright yellow before turning a pitch black, the power of Erebus running through him, the eyes of the fallen heroes flew open.
Erebus had already created his army before the war even began.
This was their first step to victory.
Ω
"They are ready my lord."
Erebus grinned, in due time he would be able to fix this world.
"Just by living, these vile humans hurt each others without even realizing it. So long as humanity exists, hate will also exist. There is no peace in this cursed world. War is just a crime paid for by the pain of the defeated. I'm going to eradicate this pitiful humanity and create a new world, where there will be no war or hatred or anything."
Erebus had a smirk on his face, the chess pieces were almost in place. The gods' heroes would demoralize the entire Greek pantheon, and with it it would be easier to overwhelm and take them over.
To Erebus real power was forged from the desire smoldering in the heart. It fans into a flame and begins to burn with an intensity scarcely imagined to be possible.
The entire night afterwards was filled with his cackling.
Perseus stood off to the side and stared at the god with caution, he had learned not to trust anyone. But for now he would use the god for his own personal agenda and get rid of him later on if need be.
Perseus walked out of the cave silently, he would put the first stage of his plan in motion tonight.
Ω
One by one, Perseus took out every minor god he could find. Tracking them was the easy part, the fools would always leave signs behind.
He would wait patiently and bid his time wisely.
He was not the one to torture so he made their eradication painless. The only ones left were two minor goddesses who in Perseus' opinion were both worthless.
Hebe was next on his list.
Finding her was rather easy, she was mostly always at her temple in Athens and using the water vapor in the air he could very well travel to any part of the globe with ease.
It was late at night when he first stepped into her temple. Just like any other temple there stood a statue of the goddess in the middle with flowers and fountains adoring the area. He caught sight of Hebe pouring ambrosia into the flames as an offering to the Olympians.
Part of his training as a monk and samurai was stealth, Perseus could walk without as much as a sound escaping from him.
A sword protruded out of her chest and the goddess in front of him gasped and coughed up golden blood. The sword caught fire and the black flames of Shiva burned through her white toga and started burning away at her body and soon enough the smell of burned flesh was in the air. Perseus didn't bother to stick around to see her death.
Moments later the goddess slowly started to fade, her essence returning to the void where all of creating was born from, and she joined the rest of the minor gods.
'One down, only one more to go.' Perseus thought as his body turned to water and disappeared from sight.
Ω
Having never traveled to the underworld, Perseus didn't know what to expect. The fallen souls of many lingered around the underworld always asking Charon for a ride across.
The five rivers of the underworld all met at the center in front of the castle of Hades, each had it's own unique properties to it as far as Perseus knew but he wasn't here to sightsee.
The river Styx was once a beautiful river years ago, but now it was polluted so much that you could barely see anything but trash.
Perseus raised his hand and raised every little droplet of water and let the trash fall down to the bottom of the river. He raised his other hand and the black flames of Shiva started burning away at all the trash and bones and the other stuff that laid at the bottom. Soon afterwards he let the water fall back and in front of him was the river Styx in its true state. The river sparkled and was so clear that you could see the very bottom.
"There are not many out there that can bravely come to the underworld young one. But then again there is not one soul out there that would clean my river like the way you did."
Perseus turned around to see a beautiful woman standing in front of him, her skin was a ghostly pale, her hair was black and her eyes a bright white.
A shame he would have to kill such a beautiful woman.
The goddess stared at the man in front of her, she could smell the ocean from within him and knew right away that this was Poseidon's child but she could also feel something more divine to him.
"I will make this quick young one, I appreciate that you cleaned my river but staying here will catch the attention of my lord Hades and I would not want someone as courageous as you have to die."
Perseus smirked, his hood was still covering his face so the goddess could only see his glowing bright emerald green eyes. A blue rib cage manifested around him, but then even more started forming. The rib cage expanded and grew until the head of a tengu was there instead, an arm on each side. One arm reached out and grabbed Styx before she could even process what was going on and squeezed her. Perseus mentally commanded the arm to bring her closer. "I have no time to play games with you goddess. I'm here to create a better world for everyone."
Perseus didn't wait for the goddess to reply. He raised his hand and the black flames of Shiva encased the goddess' body and burned her away before she could even scream. Her essence returning back to the void to join the rest of her minor god brethren.
The river Styx proceeded to evaporate until it was no more.
Ω
The first stage of his plan was done.
Perseus now only had to wait a little while longer to put the next part of his plan in action.
He was sad that his old friend Chiron would perish but to create a new world where peace was relevant then a few sacrifices were needed.
The camp for demigods would move from location to location depending on the current location of the gods and soon enough he was already at the entrance of the god's camp for demigods.
Many had already sensed his presence and were anxious to see what would happen next.
Perseus clasped his hands together and an ethereal blue glowing rib cage manifested itself around him and from it formed the head of a tengu and it's arms and as the god Susanoo told him years ago the stages of manifesting his ultimate defence would continue on until it achieved it's perfect final form.
The formed head of the tengu and arms grew until it had a torso and legs, and Perseus stood floating in the tengu figure's forehead, his hands still clasped together.
Calling upon the power of Susanoo, clouds covered the sky, storms started brewing and silently speaking a prayer to Susanoo, he unclasped his hands and pointed it towards the sky. Moments later the earth was covered in a shadow that stretched for miles.
The demigods that stood before him cowered in fear at what they were seeing. Looming above them was a meteor that covered the entire sky for as far as they could see.
"I give you two choices demigods." Perseus' voice echoed. "Join me and there need not be a bloodbath. Or stand and fight for the gods that care nothing for you. If the gods cared then you would not in this predicament in the first place. They only care about themselves. Do you not wish for your parent to care for you? To be there for you? To answer your prayers? I will mold a world where no one is an outcast."
The unclaimed demigods were the first to walk over the border and stand behind Perseus, they had nothing left to lose. Their parents wouldn't even bother to claim them as their own and would never do so.
One by one the campers walked over, either by fear or that they believed in Perseus' idea of a new world.
Soon enough there was but only a handful of demigods left standing beside Chiron, they had made their choice to stay loyal to their gods.
Chiron looked on sadly towards Perseus, "Achilles would not have been proud of you Perseus, I hope that one day soon you realize that what you are doing is wrong."
Perseus brought his hand down, an act of judgement, and the meteor created with the power of Susanoo dropped on the camp. Storms raged on as lightning struck the ground and the ocean's waves flooded the camp. The black flames of Shiva incinerated everything else that was left.
What was now left of the camp was nothing but ash, and with the water flooding in, the ground where the camp once stood would simply be a new lake on the maps.
Perseus gazed up towards the heavens, "This is your fault, your ignorance and arrogance led the demigods camp to its destruction. You Olympians care about nothing but yourselves. I declare war against Olympus and I swear that I will burn it to the ground. I'm coming for you all."
Ω
The gods of Olympus watched on with fear, some were crying for their lost children but the rage they felt towards Perseus was indescribable.
Zeus sneered with anger evident on his face, "This insolent boy is pushing his luck. No man would ever be so heartless to do what he did. He did not even bat an eye when he destroyed our camp. I should have killed him when I had the chance."
Hera sighed, "The boy has every right to do what he did. We don't have to abide by the ancient laws, you're the one who forces us to do so just because it's a tradition. Maybe if we spent more time with our kids and took care of the other mortals then none of this would have happened. I only have you to blame my dear husband." She said the last part with sarcasm before leaving.
The halls of Olympus had become quiet after Perseus erased the minor gods and goddess from reality. The usual lit throne room was dimly lit and Hestia sat in front of a fire that was barely visible.
One by one the gods left until Hestia was the only one left, poking at the hot coals with a long slim stick.
She could feel the hope that resided within the gods slowly fading.
Perseus so far was able to do whatever he wanted without the gods being able to do anything because of their ancient laws.
But now Perseus spiced things up, he had challenged the gods and the gods would be preparing for a war soon enough. Perseus would get what he wanted, but at what cost?
Hestia smiled sadly, "Your mother would not have approved of any of this Perseus.."
Ω
It was a silent night, there weren't any owls hooting, or rough winds moving tree branches, everything was silent and still, but this was the usual.
If one were to look around they'd see a giant tree in the middle of the ground, with mountains encasing it from all sides. It's branches reached up into the heavens and the roots reached down into the depths of Niflheim.
Underneath the tree sat three figures, Urd, Verdandi and Skuld.
Most would not care about their appearance but if one were to look closely, the one that sat in the middle, Skuld, had her face covered, veiled one could say, because the future is always unknown. Forever changing. There were plenty of different outcomes that could happen in the future, but that future was decided by one's own actions.
And because of this unknown that many can write their own destiny, carve their own path and follow it, and that is exactly what Skuld did.
She didn't want her fate to be continuously tied down to Yggdrasil to foreverspin the thread of destiny. No she wanted to be free for once of her responsibilities and that's exactly what she did.
Over the years she was able to see what was to come, the destruction of Midgard was inevitable, Ragnarok would come.
But what she didn't know was that her son would be the cause of this Ragnarok and the world almost ending.
Ω
Skuld over the years watched the child grow up, he was named Perseus, she had decided that she liked the name, it was fitting for him.
The child grew up to be a very strong, extraordinary man. He was trained under Achilles, the Greeks most notorious warrior to ever live, as well as being a demigod son of the sea her child was very skilled.
Using her powers she made the father of her child, the sea god forget all about her and the child, and implanted false memories into him. The sea god would only know that Perseus was an offspring of him and a random mortal woman until after he made a name for himself in the Trojan War, and even then the selfish sea god barely tried talking to his son. It was better that way she had concluded, she didn't want her interference being known yet.
She would watch as Perseus would often talk to himself at nights, longing to meet his mother and always wished she was there to guide him through life's rough times. It made her heart stop beating, her longing increased, she had fell in love with the child ever since he was born and wanted nothing else to be with her son again.
She did however help out from time to time, who else would've given Odysseus and Perseus the idea of the Trojan Horse?
But in the end, even she couldn't help when his mentor was killed, his beloved left, and he was all alone. The threads of destiny were cruel but to some, they were very cruel.
She watched him throughout his solitude years as much as she could, she didn't want anyone else finding out that he was her son yet. She would still try to help as much as she could, if Perseus was having a rough night's sleep, she'd softly sing an incantation that would put him to a peaceful slumber. If he ever ran out of rations, she'd make sure that there were some deers running nearby so he could hunt. Monsters would come after him and she would kill any of the ones following him without being noticed.
She watched him travel the world. She watched him train under the monks of India. She watched the deities Shiva and Susanoo bless her son.
She watched her son grow up into the strong and extraordinary man that he was today.
But what she didn't plan on happening was that he would go on to eradicate all the minor gods and goddess from existence, destroy the Greek demigod camp and declare war on the Olympians.
She didn't know where she went wrong, this child was her hopes and dreams. Her salvation to a better world.
She sighed, maybe this would bring about a change and create a new world.
She could only wait and see what her child would do.
Ω
Erebus paced back and forth, the fool Perseus had completely messed with his plans. He had went behind his back and made every minor god fade and to top it off he had the remaining demigods on his side and had destroyed the entire camp.
He was seething, now he would have to reconsider his options and go about it differently. Initially his plan was to trick the minor gods to join his cause and force the demigods to be his arms and legs and shield. He wanted the demigods to join him instead so he could have an army of them behind him.
He seethed once again, Perseus had screwed everything.
He would deal with the young immortal soon enough.
A/N - i realize that the entire chapter was pretty fast faced but oh well. stay tuned, more to come.
