A/N - sorry for the delay
Third Person POV
Perseus' thoughts brought him to thinking about the girl he fell in love with years ago.
*Flashback*
Perseus' look change to a soft one as he held his hand outwards to the girl that was on the floor crying in front of him, her brunette hair was plastered against her forehead with sweat and her hair was dirty, her face was a light brown with eyes that changed color every few seconds, as if they were mirroring her emotions, Perseus brushed her hair out of her eyes and asked, "What's your name?"
The girl turned and spat in his face, "The gods will kill you, Apollo will come after you, you shouldn't have done what you did." Her angered face turned into a face of concern which left Perseus confused.
Perseus looked at the girl's outfit, her white gown was dirty, she had a necklace with small hearts, as if she spent her entire life praying to the love goddess, "You're a priestess? Why do you respect the gods so much?"
The girl looked into his eyes, "There is no reason, it's what we have to do, the gods will make our living and our suffering easier, and all we have to do is pray and worship them."
Perseus laughed, "If you respect the gods so much, then why respect Ares? He lives for war, for the blood of the innocent, he's the epitome of war. The gods have done nothing for you, all they've caused is suffering and turmoil, they only think of us as puppets, only to do their bidding and when they're done with us, they throw us away, think of us like their toys. I kill to protect my loved ones, the amount of people Ares and the rest of the gods have killed are a much larger number than the ones that I've killed."
The girl didn't say anything, her hair was a messy and her eyes were beautiful each time he looked into them, he sighed, "Atleast tell more your name."
The girl dried her tears, and responded, "Piper."
Perseus continued looking into her eyes and sighed and lowered his head, "The gods envy us. We're all humans, we all have a set amount of time we can live, we all experience pain and tragedy, we're all doomed to die, but they don't. They're stuck living forever while we have a thing called death, that's inevitable, that's why the gods envy and hate us, they will never experience what we have, nor will they ever. Now do you understand why I have no love for the Gods? They've done nothing but bring me pain."
Perseus grabbed her arm and gently helped her to stand up, "My name is Perseus, you can stay as long as you want, but I'd advise you not to leave, or else the rest of the men would want something, or someone to play with." He noticed the girl's look of horror before saying, "As long as you stay with me, no harm will come to you, you have my word. If anyone touched you, I will kill them, ally or enemy."
The girl smiled a small one, before following him. He noticed that he was about a head taller than her petite frame, but he smiled when he saw that she wouldn't leave. Perseus led the girl to the tents the Myrmidons had set up just minutes earlier, "You can stay in here, I will be putting a few men in front of the tent to guard it if any of Agamemnon's men try to come in, I'll be back shortly."
Perseus trudged slowly to the beach that was close to his tent and looked at the amount of ships that were docked and sighed, he wouldn't even be able to enjoy his moment of peace.
*Flashback end*
Perseus sighed, he missed Piper more than ever. Years had passed but his love for her had not, he had tried to lock it away but recently his thoughts kept going back to her and that lockett had broke, and out came his feelings and memories of the girl.
He shook his head, he had other things to worry about.
It was time to put the next part of his plan into action. He would make the god's pay for what they did.
He disappeared and reappeared in front of Apollo's temple.
He would be the first Olympian blood to be spilt.
He knew the sun god would be in here having an affair with yet another mortal. How surprising, the gods would have affairs with humans only to abandon them and their child months later.
The temple was bright but that was to be expected. Artificial suns were all around the temple giving it an exquisite view. Perseus' eyes glew and he snapped his fingers, the black flames of Shiva destroyed the artificial suns until the temple was dark but that of course caught the attention of the sun god.
What Apollo didn't expect was to find a man wearing a black cloak over his head, staring deep into his eyes as he stood in the center of his temple. He remembered this feeling very well. Years ago, this same presence that desecrated his temple stood before.
Perseus remembered that moment very well too.
*Flashback*
Perseus swung left and right, killing whoever came his way, every once in awhile he would take his spear out to spear men from a far distance. The short battle only lasted for at most ten minutes, but to Perseus it was the most fun he had ever had, the Myrmidons had taken out about all of their forces instantly, the rest of the Greek ships were just reaching Trojan sands, and Agamemnon watched in rage at the c*****e before him, this wasn't what he was trying to do, he wanted to watch Troy suffer, one by one.
Only a few were left and they started to run back towards the large gate that protected the civilians of Troy. The large gate opened to welcome them in before shutting close just as soon as it open, Perseus ran towards the altar that was deducted to Apollo, and angrily swung his sword towards the statue of Apollo and watched as the gold statue's head rolled onto the ground, the priestesses watched in horror at what he had done.
*Flashback end*
"So now you know, sun god." Perseus spoke softly.
"You should be dead, we made sure of that!"
Perseus chuckled, "Is that so? But here I am standing in front of you."
Perseus knew of the sun god's prophecy, that one day a fallen soldier would rise to either destroy Olympus or become it's salvation. The gods had tried to kill him on plenty of occasions over the years but none had succeeded.
"I will have my revenge sun god. You don't think I know that you were the one who blessed Paris so that he would be the one to kill my master? You don't think I saw that golden arrow pierce Achilles' heel? You ignorant fool of a god."
Perseus grabbed his sword from where it was strapped on his back and spoke softly but seriously, "This ends now sun god."
Apollo tried to fire his bow but Perseus was way too fast. He closed the distance between them in less than a second, swatting aside every arrow Apollo fired. Perseus threw his sword like a spear at the sun god to distract him and it worked perfectly. The sword reappeared in its sheath on his back. Perseus lowered his shoulder and speared Apollo at the waist, sending them both crashing to the ground. They rolled around a few times but Perseus ended up on top. His fists were barely more than blurs, slamming into the sun god's face over and over until golden ichor rolled down his face.
A flash took his attention away from the sun god that was laying on the floor in front of him out of breath. The war god Ares stood before him.
'Hmm,' Perseus thought, 'So the sun god sent out a distress call and they sent this fool. Pathetic.'
"Two birds with one stone, are you ready war god?" Perseus stared into the war god's bright red eyes, "I also haven't forgotten about your interference."
*Flashback*
Agamemnon turned his head when he felt the vibrations take place, just moments ago his army was getting destroyed by the Trojans, how could one man change the tide of the war? It didn't make sense to him.
But suddenly Perseus saw a bright red aura that covered a wide radius before coming to a dim lit red light, in front of him stood a large man well over eight feet tall, which would be unusual for a normal human to be that tall, he had bulging muscles, and scars all over his body, but Perseus immediately recognized the man in front of him when he saw the bright red eyes of the man that seemed like he had fire in them, and felt an immense hatred for the man in front of him, but then again he was no ordinary man, it was the god of war himself.
No one but himself took notice of the man, who came towards him with a large shield and broadsword. "You've broken the law, not surprising, I was wondering when you all would take part in the war. It wouldn't be surprising either if more of you decided to join in." Perseus had a small smirk on his face, it was time he fought someone well above the normalities of a normal warrior. "Have you gods stooped this low? Have you forgotten about your laws that forbid you from interfering with mortals? But yet, you use us as pawns over and over again. I don't see a god in front of me, what I see is someone who has lived far too long and should be killed, what I see is a pathetic excuse of a god that can't do anything but interfere. You're no god Ares, I think it's time I've proved this to you."
The war god stood still, his muscles tensing at his apparent rage at the words he just heard, from a demigod, no less. How foolish did this boy think he was, he thought. His anger clouded his thought process, all he wanted to do was kill the boy standing in front of him. By now, everyone could see the man but no one knew who the man was, Achilles looked towards his student with a worried look.
Ares charged at Perseus with such a speed that it almost looked like he was a red blur, and smashed into Perseus who was pushed several feet backwards but his instincts and trained eye sight helped him evade the man's monstrous strength by putting his shield in front of him which was also a gift from his father, and slightly dented the metal, he cursed noting that it'd be useless trying to fight Ares with just strength, he racked his brain, thinking of several possibilities on how to defeat him, until he finally smirked.
Upon seeing Perseus smirk, the war god truly let his bloodlust control him and charged once again, but all Perseus did was dodge over and over and over again, he could see the slight layer of sweat starting to form on the war god's body and smiled.
Now all he had to do was wait. Perseus fainted to his left while using his powers made the earth rumble once again, the war god lost his footing for a slight half a second but that's all Perseus needed before stabbing his sword into the part where the breastplate connected with the rest of the armor and slightly twisted his sword, the sweat that had formed on Ares' body started making its way towards Perseus' sword and became absorbed, the god started laughing at his futile attempt before stopping mid-laugh, a sheet of ice had completely frozen the left side of his body in place.
The war god roared in anger before his bright red eyes dimmed. Perseus stabbed him in anger until the tip of his sword came out his back. Despite Ares being unconsciousness, he threw up gold ichor all over Perseus' armor.
Perseus would've stopped and took his time to relish in the fact that he was able to defeat a god, even if he wasn't himself most of the time and even if he was trapped halfway in ice, but a horn blowing snapped him back into reality, he recognized it, it was a retreat signal on behalf of the Trojans.
*Flashback end*
"Finally a worthy challenge!" Before they could react, Perseus charged at the both of them. The only word to describe his skills was godly. He went toe to toe with two Olympians, alternating between the two and moving too fast for them to even make a move.
The two Olympians could barely keep up, they were getting thrown all around the sun god's temple.
Perseus stood before the two battered and bloody Olympians. He walked towards the sun god and raised his sword and brought it down on the god's left foot and cut it off at the ankle and listened as the sun god howled in pain.
"Now you feel what Achilles felt when your golden arrow pierced his heel." Perseus spoke darkly. He turned toward the war god that laid on the floor a few feet away from the sun god. "What should I do with you? I seem to remember how you butchered my brother in arms in the Trojan War. The Myrmidons were a force to be reckoned with among the mortals and would not have had to die if there was no godly interference." He stabbed the war god through his chest, right where his heart was and twisted his blade and pulled. The war god's heart was at the tip of his blade. Ares watched on in shock as his golden heart stood right in front of him on his executioner's blade.
"This was what you did to one of my fellow comrades, did you not? He did not deserve to die that day, Ares." Perseus spoke softly once more.
Perseus sneered, he didn't want to waste anymore time with these fools. Ares was already slowly fading because his heart was gone so he turned his attention to the sun god who tried his best to crawl away.
Perseus chuckled, and teasingly stalked towards Apollo and kneeled down and grabbed his head by his hair. "May we meet again sun god." Perseus swung his sword and the sun god's head rolled over to where Ares was sitting. Ares slowly faded away with an open mouth and shock written all over his face.
Perseus sheathed his sword and walked out, leaving two Olympians behind him to fade into the void. He used the black flames of Shiva moments later to destroy the temple in front of him.
?
For every action there was always a consequence. After killing both Apollo and Ares, their domains were starting to go away as well. The sun was starting to fade and would be gone before the war ended. With no sun the humans were also being affected. Their food supply would eventually run out. Perseus paid no attention to it, there was always a way to get another immortal to become the sun god.
The world no longer had any history on anything war related, the only good thing was that the crime rate fell in the world below. Humans no longer felt the need to endlessly kill each other. Perseus thought that it was one of the best things to happen to the mortals. The cycle of pain was slowly starting to end.
The thrones of Apollo and Ares had crumbled to dust as soon as Perseus killed them. The Olympians were afraid of the young immortal. If he could kill two Olympians without batting an eye, what could he possibly do to the rest of them?
Only time would tell.
?
There was only one way to get through to Perseus.
Erebus laughed, he would soon get what he wanted.
Perseus was doing the dirty work but his part would come soon enough.
Achilles stood in front of him with no emotion on his face, Erebus was controlling him.
Perseus would soon know that his place beneath the deity of darkness.
?
Moments like these were what made Perseus miss his master the most, his last words still rung in his ears.
*Flashback*
Achilles turned towards his student and said in a soft voice, "There will always be a time when someone's life comes to an end, don't think of this as me living Perseus, for I'll be in your heart and looking after you. When one's life comes to an end, something else is born. Don't wallow in your misery Perseus, think of this as my final lesson to you. Get rid of the revenge within your heart, a road filled with revenge isn't a road you wish to take, when you finally get your revenge, you'll be nothing. Find a purpose in life, find love, live a happy one. Become the warrior and leader you were supposed to be, create your own legacy." Perseus watched with tears in his eyes and listened to the final words of his mentor, he'd never seen him again.
*Flashback end*
But what Perseus didn't know was that he would be seeing his master very soon and that confrontation would lead to something that Greek world had never seen before.
Their bond would bring about a new era. One without darkness.
?
In the depths of Olympus, in a tiny room, laid a girl suspended in mid air. Her light brown skin and her wavy light brown hair were beautiful.
"It is time my beautiful daughter." A whisper resonated around the room.
The girl opened her kaleidoscope eyes to the world for the first time in thousands of years.
