Theo woke up with a headache; the only thing he could remember was him crying in his father’s arms and asking for a mother.
“Good morning, Theo.”
Dante entered Theo’s room and gave him a glass of water.
“Daddy!”
Theo greeted and hugged his daddy.
“Are you alright now?”
“Yes, I am! Sorry for last night, Daddy.”
Theo said to Dante. Dante placed his hands on his son's cheeks and pinched them.
“Why are you apologizing? You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Dante replied to Theo; his son had a worried look on his face.
“Perhaps it is better for you not to go to school today.”
Dante told his son, but Theo shook his head.
“No! I want to see Ms. Adriana.”
Dante smiled and ruffled Theo’s hair.
“Okay, but no more tantrums. I promise I will talk to Ms. Adriana.”
“Really, Daddy?”
“Yes!”
Dante is not fully all right with the idea of getting a wife, but if this is what Theo needs, then he will do his best to get it.
The teachers of Redwood are on high alert.
“Once again, teachers, official fetchers will be allowed to fetch the children today. No more, no less.”
Principal Vince strictly instructed that the situation might be more serious than expected.
“Thinking of kidnapping is really scary.”
Madeline whispered to Adriana.
“That is why we need to be extra cautious.”
Adriana was scared. To think a person can do such a horrific think of kidnapping a child. Who would be in their right mind to do that?
“Okay, little master, we are here at school.”
Vincent said to Theo, who was excited to enter the school.
“Yes, uncle, see you later.”
“Yup, see you later.”
Vincent said goodbye to Theo before he entered the car; a call came through.
“Hello!”
“Mr. Bellire, please be advised that we have already apprehended the small group that is attempting to cause danger to the young master. But we are still searching for those who escaped.”
The staff informed Vincent of the progress. Apparently, the danger is still there.
“Make sure you get all of them.”
“Yes, sir!”
“Are you sure our plan will work?”
One of the thugs asked.
“Yes! We will pretend to be a fetcher and snatch Theo Vescari from the school.”
Another thug confidently replied
“I heard the school has alerted the authorities.”
“Do not chicken out now. We need to get the kid and demand millions as ransom.”
A looming danger is upon the school, and from the looks of it,t Theo Vescari is indeed in danger.
The students have their recess inside the classroom, which is unusual.
“Ms. Adriana, is the playground broken?”
One of the kids asked
“Yes! They are painting the slides; that is why we are having recess here.”
The children nodded at what Adriana said.
“Ms. Adriana!”
Theo called and approached Adriana.
“Yes, Theo! What is it?”
Adriana, with a smile, talked to Theo.
“My daddy said he will talk to you soon.”
Adriana was confuse with what Theo said.
“Talk? About what?”
Adriana, confused, asked Theo the question.
“I still asked daddy to make you my mommy, and I think he will ask you about it.”
When Theo said that, Adriana’s eyes widened with shock.
“Theo! I am your teacher. I already told you that you have to consider your daddy’s feelings about your request.”
Adriana replied; a crack in her voice could be heard as she was totally confuse of the predicament she was in.
“I do not know; all I know is Daddy will talk to you soon.”
Theo happily replied; he then returned to playing with his classmates.
Adriana felt a sense of nervousness and panic, as her mind was thinking a lot of things.
Is it possible that Mr. Dante Vescari will ask her to be Theo’s mother?
Right?
Those thoughts are so loud in her head; she cannot hear the children anymore.
She is not ready to be married again, after all that had happened.
Not like this.
The classes ended at Redwood, as strict as it is. Only official fetchers are allowed to get the children. As time passed, Theo was the only child left on the school grounds.
“Uncle Vincent is late again.”
Theo said, pouting his lips.
“It is alright; I will wait with you.”
Adriana, Theo, and the school guards were the only ones left in the school.
“Ms. Hartley, we will start patrolling the grounds. Is that alright?”
“Yes, go ahead.”
Adriana smiled, and both Theo and she sat on the stairs looking into the distance.
“I will yell at Uncle Vincent for this.”
Theo said as he continued to sulk.
“He must be busy with work; let me send him a text message to confirm, okay.”
“Hello, young master!”
Suddenly, a stranger approached them. Adriana pulled Theo behind him.
“Excuse me, sir, who are you?”
“I was sent by Mr. Bellire to fetch the young master today. He is still busy at work.”
“I see, you are not on the fetcher list, sir. So I need to confirm your identity.”
Adriana said to the man that she didn’t feel good about the situation. Something is off.
“Sure! Sure! No worries.”
The man replied. Before Adriana was holding Theo, she planned to enter the school to catch the attention of the school guard, but…
“Stop right there!”
The stranger pulled a gun and aimed it at them.
“Give me Theo Vescari, miss, or I will shoot you.”
The stranger said, armed with the gun and ready to pull the trigger.
“Ms. Adriana!”
Theo was trembling behind her back.
“No! Shoot me here, and you will alert the entire school guards.”
Adriana replied; she was also scared, but she needed to be strong for Theo.
“Then you will come with us as well.”
Two more thugs appeared, and they pulled Adriana and Theo; they had tied their hands and put a cloth over their mouth for them not shout. The thugs then put them inside the car and drove them out of the school.
They are indeed being kidnapped.
Dante was in the middle of a business meeting when his phone suddenly vibrated.
He glanced at the screen.
SECURITY ALERT: THEO VESCARI — LOCATION OUTSIDE AUTHORIZED ZONE.
His expression immediately changed.
Across the table, Vincent, his right-hand man, noticed.
“Dante?”
Dante stood.
“Where is Theo?”
Vincent was already pulling up the security system on his tablet.
“The GPS tracker on his watch just triggered. He's no longer at Redwood School.”
Dante's eyes narrowed.
“Show me.”
Vincent turned the screen toward him. A red dot appeared on the map, moving away from the school.
“The signal was active a few minutes ago. Someone took him off school grounds.”
Dante's jaw tightened.
“Did the school call?”
“Not yet.”
“Why not?”
“We're still checking the security feeds.”
Vincent quickly pulled up the school's cameras.
“There.”
He pointed to the screen.
Theo was being led toward a vehicle by an unfamiliar man.
Dante stared at the footage.
“Enhance it.”
Vincent did.
The man's face remained partially hidden.
Dante's voice dropped.
“Find the vehicle.”
“Already working on it.”
The GPS signal suddenly stopped.
Vincent looked at the screen.
“We lost the tracker.”
Silence filled the room.
Dante picked up his coat.
“Get the cars ready.”
Vincent looked at him.
“How many men?”
Dante's expression was cold.
“All of them.”
“Where are we going?”
Vincent looked at the last known coordinates.
“Industrial district. There's an abandoned warehouse near the river.”
Dante headed for the door.
“Then that's where we're going.”
Vincent followed.
“Dante…”
Dante stopped.
Vincent's voice became serious.
“We'll bring Theo home.”
Dante looked back at him.
His expression revealed nothing.
But his next words were ice-cold.
“Make sure we do.”
The warehouse was cold, dark, and smelled of rust and rain.
Adriana and Theo did not have any idea where they are our who these people were. The thugs had removed the cloths from their mouths.
“Wait until my daddy gets here.”
Theo shouted at the thugs.
“That is our aim, little master, your daddy. He has taken everything from us all just because we failed to pay him back. Now we will make sure he will be the one to pay us.”
Adriana was observing the situation. She looked around, and the warehouse had only one way in and out.
“You really need to bring her?”
“What should I do? She is about to call the police.”
One of the thugs approached Adriana and stared at her.
“You are a pretty woman.”
“Do not come close to Ms. Adriana”
Theo shouted and kicked the thug.
“You little rascal.”
The thug was about to hit Theo, but Adriana's body blocked the strike; her face was bruised, and her lips were split. Blood was dripping from her face.
“Ms. Adriana”
Theo called at he cried over what had happened.
“Touch him again, and I will end you.”
Adriana glared at the man; her anger was fueling her.
“You do not have authority here, teacher. Just wait; we will make sure Mr. Dante Vescari pays our demands.”
The thug continued to taunt. Little did they know, the real trouble was about to come.
