His contract Girlfriend chapter 2

I slid into the backseat of the Range Rover.

it smelled like leather and money.

Damian got in beside me but didn't look at me.

he was already on his phone, typing.

the driver pulled off, leaving my street and the red eviction notice behind.

"Rules." Damian said without looking up.

I turned to him. up close. he was worse.

Sharp jaw . Tired eyes. like he hadn't slept in days. Birthday's dinner, meeting."

I nodded.

"second: you will act in love. hold my arm. smile. Answer questions about us."

"Act." I repeated. "Got it."

"third." he finally looked at me. his eyes were grey. cold .

"No kissing. No touching unless necessary. and definitely no falling in love. this is business.

miss Okafor not a fairy tale.

something in my chest sank.

"And the money?"

"#500k Now. the rest in 2 installment. if you break the contract. you pay me back double."

he handed me a folder and a pen. 8 pages leagal words I didn't understand.

my hands were shaking. this was crazy. this was illegal. this was my only way out. I signed. Amara Okafor.

"Good." he said. and took the folder. then he slide an envelope to me.

inside was #500,000 cash. in New Notes.

my breath caught. that was more than i'd held in my entire life.

"Tomorrow." he said." my mother's 60th birthday. 7pm. At the BlackTech Tower. dress code. Black. be here by 6."

he gave the driver an address in GRA. the most expensive part of Port Harcourt.

the car stopped in front of my building 10 minutes later. my building with the peeling paint and the landlord who hated me.

"Wait." I said before getting out." why me? you could hire any actress."

Damian looked at the window.

"Because you're desperate, he said quietly.

"And desperate people don't ask questions."

the door closed behind me.

I stood there holding #500,000k and a contract that can ruin me.

I didn't see the woman taking pictures of us from across the street.

and I definitely didn't know that woman was Damian's ex.
