"cade's pov"

mother's smile was wide and genuine as always when talking about grand children. but sometimes she can push too far. I looked over at Athena her face had a forced smile, I don't think mother noticed but I did. "thank you mother but don't you think something like that could've waited until after we started trying? or maybe once we found out if we were pregnant?" I stated. I heard cam chuckle across the room. Athena looked at him and glared. he threw his up in defense. my mother just sat there mouth a gape. "I-im sorry" she said sadly. it grew quiet, Athena had broken the silence and stood up. "it's fine thank you they're beautiful." she said and started to walk out the room. my father stood as well "boy's we need to talk follow me" and he walked out the room. I sat there a moment longer with my head in my hands and sighed. "what's wrong brother? tired yet? ready to confess?" I clenched my fist tight trying not to punch him square in the jaw. "cam, I already told you you won leave me be please" he laughed "I will once the business is signed over to me and you tell Athena." I stood up and looked him in the face " I'll tell her once I'm ready" he just smiled and nodded. "Tell me what cade? what does cam want you to tell me?" her velvety voice trembling behind me cam's smile grew he knew she was behind me when he said that he wanted to stir the pot even more. "oh cade you didn't tell your beautiful treasure about what you did or rather haven't done?" I turned around to see her face disguised with confusion. "cade?" she asked. I rushed up to her and took her hands in mine and shook my head. "well I you won't tell her I will. Athena, your soon to be husband here or well...new boyfriend right? not really your husband because that's all fake right? well anyways he's been lying to you he didn't get rid of that contract. he didn't even void it, in fact I have it." he held up the file smug smile on his face still. I looked at her hurt face, and my heart dropped to my stomach."angel baby...I'm sorry it was going to be voided as soon as I felt like it was safe." she scoffed and ripped her hands out of mine. "safe? safe?!.....screw you cade I put my heart on the line for you just to find out your not to be trusted Nolan was right about you!" she screamed.in my face and stormed.out the room again. "well now that that is done I believe we have business with dad that needs attention " I was torn between handling things with Athena or dealing with dad and cam. I grunted and walked into dads office. "just sign it over to cam im done I can't you win cam." I said as I slammed my hands down on the desk. father just stared "I afraid I can't do that cade. and not only that vote I won't cam can't run it he loose everything he's not the brightest crayon in the box." I was caught off guard and cam scoffed. "he just said he doesn't want it father!" cam yelled. father nodded "I heard him I also heard everything out there...shame on you cam that was not the right way to get what you want and because of that not only does your brother get the business when I die but he will also get the house and the lake house when both me and your mother go." cam clenched his hands and jaw. "that's not fair?!" he yelled "and neither was what you pulled just now....and off you want to keep it up he will get all three sports cars and the muscle! now get out of my office" cam stormed out without another word. I stood and began to walk out as well when father spoke up. "cade sit down I believe we need to talk...what happened in there was not right. and it would be upsetting if you lose her after the way you defended her against me. I can't allow her to walk out of your life now because of your stupid mistake. that being said I also can't be mad at you too much considering I raised you be a business man." I couldn't comprehend what was coming out of this man's mouth he seemed so against her because of her background. "father she hates me now how do I even begin to make up for what I did?" he smiled "son I've been married to your mother for 35 years so far and more to cone I've made plenty of mistakes let me help you for once." I stared at him for a moment it wasn't until he smiled again and gestured for me to sit. I nodded and got advice from my father for once.

"Athena's pov"

I ran up to our room and slammed the door shut as the tears began to sting my eyes. sliding down the door to sit on the floor, I allowed myself a few moment's to cry. how could I be so stupid I know better then to trust a business man especially one so handsome. Nolan was right once again, I will never forgive him for this. what do I do now though? do I come clean with his family? I know I'm no longer playing along with his charade. but can I do that to his mother the woman I've come to love? I wiped my tears from my eyes and went to shower. I sat there feeling the warmth wash over me as I condition my hair and scrub down my body. I wiped the steam off the mirror and brushed my teeth, the proceeded to put on face moisturizer. that's when I heard the bedroom door open and shut, followed by the shuffle of feet that stopped at the bathroom door. "Treasure? can we talk? I need to explain myself and apologize." I rolled my eyes and stepped out he was right in front of the door blocking my way. I looked him up and down crossing my arm's "can you scoot please? I'm tired." was all I said defeated he hung his head and moved aside. I curled up under the covers and closed my eye's. when I didn't feel the bed move under his weight I rolled over to see him asleep on the floor next to me. he sleeps so soundly, I fell asleep watching his chest rise and fall with each breath.
