Chapter ElevenCiara needed to rummage through Rico's accumulation of old papers and find a way to locate any of Pablo's living relatives. Anticipation of having to deal with the tightening red tape strangling Cuba filled her with a sense of dread. Fewer and fewer people were being allowed to leave that island country, but what an irony. Now she would have to see that Pablo was returned. No one dared return to see family members left behind for fear of being prevented from leaving again, or thrown in jail for having left the first time.
