11 Tracy Cartwright had been teaching young children long enough to know that kids in the age group of her current students tend to lose concentration quickly. She subscribed to the modern theory that education had to be entertaining and perhaps the most difficult part of her job was keeping her students focused on what she was hoping to teach them long enough for them to grasp at least some small amount of knowledge of the subject.
