"No, I never did. I just needed someone, so I held onto you. I didn't have any other options, and when I found someone else, I needed to get rid of Rowan so I could frame you and be with Caleb,” she said, rolling her eyes. Ethan clenched his fist. Hearing the truth from Maria hurt him. He leaned in and said, "I'll leave this jail today, and I'll make sure you pay for your crimes by staying in jail for a lifetime.” “I want to see you make me rot in jail!” She said, “Take this money and use it to improve your life." She handed him a check. Ethan took the check and tore it up in front of her. "Happy married life," he said and walked away. Maria's face turned red with anger. "You're too proud, Ethan. I'll make sure you suffer.” On the hand, Caleb entered his house, where his angry father was pacing around. "What did I just hear you do?" his father asked, his voice stern. Caleb raised his eyebrows. "What are you talking about?" he asked, though he knew exactly what his father meant. His father stopped pacing and glared at him. "Don't play dumb! Why did Edwards decline your invitation to the party?" Caleb rubbed the back of his neck, hesitant to answer. "It's not my fault, Father. It was Maria's ex-husband who caused all this. He made me look like a fool, and I don't understand why Edwards supported him!" His father let out a hiss. "If you had minded your own business, we wouldn't be in this situation. Now, I'll tell you this for free: if the Edwards don't come to the party, the other influential families won't come either. So, get the Edwards to come, or there will be no big wedding!" With that, his father walked away. Caleb kicked his leg in frustration. "f**k!" he exclaimed, raking his hair with his hands. He hated having to go back and beg the Edwards. With a sigh, Caleb turned around and drove off to the Edwards' family house. Caleb arrived at the Edwards' residence and found the entire family gathered at the dining table, including the old Master Edward. Victoria's brother stood up, ready to confront Caleb, but Victoria intervened, grasping his hand. "What do you want?" Master Edward asked, his voice firm but calm. Caleb swallowed his pride. "I came to ask you to reconsider attending the wedding." Master Edward chuckled. "We'll only attend if Ethan is there." Caleb felt a surge of desperation. He dropped to his knees, pleading with Master Edward. However, Master Edward shook his head. "You're wasting your time, Caleb. The ball is in your court." Caleb rose to his feet, feeling humiliated. He stepped outside, his mind racing. Begging Ethan was out of the question; it would be an insult. Caleb drove straight to the prison. He demanded to see Ethan, and without waiting for a response, he strode towards Ethan's cell. Ethan stood up, anger etched on his face. He walked up to the door, his eyes locked on Caleb. "Who would have thought that the youngest master from the Sawyer family would be here?" Ethan said, his voice laced with mockery. Caleb's face twisted in anger as he grabbed Ethan's collar. "Now, you will go to Edward's family and tell them to attend my wedding!" he barked. "I want to watch you try," Ethan said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Caleb's grip on Ethan's collar relaxed, and he took a step back. "Let's strike a deal," he said, his voice low. "I'll let you out of this prison if you agree to go tell them to come to the wedding." Ethan's eyes narrowed. "You want me to tell them to come?" he repeated, his tone incredulous. Caleb nodded, his jaw set. Ethan's face broke into a wide grin. "And then you'll release me?" he asked, his voice laced with excitement. "Yes, dumbass," Caleb replied, his irritation evident. Ethan burst into laughter. "Look me in the eyes," he said, his voice dripping with menace. "I, Ethan, will leave this prison tonight, and your so-called wife will be in here in a snap of my fingers. Mark my words!” Caleb's face turned red with rage. "How dare you!" he snarled, his fists clenched, wanting to hit Ethan. But Ethan had already moved backwards, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Since you don't want to do it the right way," Ethan said, his voice dripping with malice, "watch me burn this prison, and watch you die! Then, Edwards will have to come." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Caleb seething with anger. Caleb called out to his men, and they quickly gathered around him. "Pour diesel on the building," he ordered, his voice cold and calculating. "We'll show Ethan the true meaning of power." The men hesitated for a moment, but Caleb's glare silenced them. They began to pour diesel on the building, the pungent smell filling the air. Then, they lit the match, and the prison erupted into flames. Panic set in as the inmates and guards began to shout, "Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire!" The prison was thrown into chaos, with people running wildly, trying to escape the inferno. The fire alarm blared to life, and the fire extinguishers were quickly deployed. The prison guards and emergency responders rushed to evacuate the injured and contain the blaze. As the chaos subsided, Ethan emerged from the smoke-filled prison, unscathed. To everyone's surprise, he volunteered to help treat the injured people. They gave him a chance. Ethan took some leaves from a nearby plant and began to rub them on the wounds of the injured. The onlookers watched in awe as the wounds began to close before their very eyes. The injured people, who had been writhing in pain just moments before, were now standing up, looking around in confusion. The chief of police was shocked, his eyes wide with amazement. He bowed before Ethan, his voice filled with reverence. "Well done, sir," he said, “What's my prize?" he asked, his voice low and smooth. Ethan responded, "Free me from prison!" The police officer told Ethan it was nothing and he was the one who had delayed his own release. But Ethan explained that he wanted to earn his freedom. The officer signed Ethan's bail, and as he stepped out of the prison, the crowd began to chant. "Miracle doctor!” “Miracle doctor!” “ Miracle doctor!" Ethan stood with a smirk, twisting his neck. "It's time to make everyone who made a fool of me pay!"
