***Kade*** I watched her as she sat on a bench near the pond, studying her features as she seemed to be in some sort of pain. Of course, she was in pain; her body was changing. I could sense it, and I'm sure many others of my kind could also sense it. Her sweet scent was what attracted me to where she sat—the fresh floral scent with a hint of honey. It wasn’t strong, but it was enough for me to find her. However, that scent wasn’t what caught my attention. It was the faint scent of a wolf. I could smell she was human, but a small hint of a wolf's scent lingered in her. She was in transition. An alpha had bitten her. I left the second I realized that. I promised my parents that I would make myself known to both vampires and werewolves. I had to stay in the shadows, away from their sight.
