Chapter 019

NORA What the hell just happened? Damon saw me, he f*****g saw me Now is he going to raise an alarm. My heart slammed against my ribs like it wants to rip out. I spun on my heel and bolted down the hallway, bare feet slapping against the cold marble floor. The mansion was massive with endless corridors, high ceilings, shadows that swallowed light. I didn't know where I was going, only that I needed distance from Damon’s piercing gaze and Xavier’s smug victory. I turned to a sharp corner, nearly colliding with a tall vase on a table and It wobbled before I caught it, breathing hard. Behind me, footsteps echoed slowly. “Nora?” Xavier’s voice rolled over me, low and amused. I pressed my back to the wall, chest rising and falling, and peeked around the corner. He stood at the end of the hall, hands in his pockets with my purse still dangling around his fingers. Damon wasn’t with him. Thank God. “Don’t,” I whispered, more to myself than him. He tilted his head, that cold, cunning smile curling his lips again. “Running won’t change anything, little kitten. You’re already in my house and in my world” I swallowed. “I just…I need a minute, please” He took one step forward, then another and I backed away until my shoulders hit the opposite wall. “You promised, you said you wouldn’t tell him" I said, my voice cracking slightly. “I haven’t told him anything” He stopped just out of reach, close enough that I could smell his dark, spicy and intoxicating cologne. “Not yet" He finished. “What do you want from me, Xavier? Really?” He studied me for a long moment, eyes roaming around my face, my lips still swollen from his earlier kisses, the way my shirt clung to my skin from sweat and nerves. Then he lifted my purse, shaking it lightly. My phone had finally stopped ringing, probably dead or silenced, but the silence felt louder. “I want you to stop pretending, stop pretending you don’t feel this, stop pretending you want to leave” He said quietly. "You kidnapped me" I laughed bitterly. “I brought you somewhere safe" He stepped closer and I had nowhere left to go. I glared up at him, getting furious, “You could have just told me or could have asked me nicely” “Would you have come willingly if I had asked or would you have run straight back to Damon’s arms, pretending everything’s fine if you weren't in my house?” His voice dropped intimate. The mention of Damon's name made me flinch a bit. “He’s... he's... he's your brother” I reminded him. “Half nephew ” Xavier corrected, almost lazily. “And he doesn’t own you, he never will” My throat tightened as the memories we once shared resurfaced. Damon’s gentle smiles, the way he used to hold my hands like I was a fragile glass. Then the fights, the cold silences, the way he looked through me like I was already gone. And now Xavier, dark and dangerous, he's everything Damon wasn’t. “I can’t do this,” I whispered. “Not here, not with him in the same house" I said because Damon being here means the chances of my little secret coming out will be easy. Xavier reached out, slow enough that I could pull away from his grasp if I wanted to. His fingers brushed my cheek, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. The touch was gentle....too gentle and it undid me more than any rough kiss ever could. “Then stay with me tonight,” he murmured. “Just tonight. No games, no threats, let me show you what it feels like to be wanted.....really wanted” My breath hitched as I listened to every words he just said. “And if I say no?” He leaned in, lips brushing my forehead. “Then I’ll drive you home myself, right now” I searched his eyes, looking for the lie but there wasn’t one. For once, Xavier Hawk looked… vulnerable. Like the answer from me actually mattered. I closed my eyes. “One night,” I said, my voice barely audible but I'm sure he heard me. “But if Damon finds out....” “He won’t” Xavier’s hand slid to the back of my neck, thumb stroking the sensitive skin there. “Not unless you want him to" He pulled back just enough to look at me, waiting for my next response and I nodded once. That was all he needed. In one smooth motion, he scooped me up in bridal style this time, not thrown over his shoulder like before. I yelped, my arms going around his neck. “Xavier!” I called out. “Quiet, kitten,” he said against my ear. “The staff knows better than to interrupt” He carried me up in a sweeping staircase, down another hallway that's lined with different portraits that stared down on us like silent judges. My pulse thundered in my ears. Every step felt like crossing a line I couldn’t uncross. He kicked open a door at the end of the hall, his bedroom, I realized immediately. Dark walls, massive bed with black sheets. He set me down gently on the edge of the bed, then knelt in front of me, hands on my thighs. “Look at me,” he said and I did. “I’m not going to force anything. Yes, we've done this before but I’m done pretending I don’t want to devour every inch of you each time I see you. Tell me to stop and I will, walk away and I’ll let you go” He said calm and deliberate. My mouth went dry. “And if I don’t?” His hands slid higher, thumbs tracing slow circles that made my thighs tremble. “Then I’m going to make you forget every other man who ever touched you. Starting with my nephew” Heat flooded me, shame, desire, fear, all tangled together. I should run, I should scream but instead, I leaned forward and kissed him. It started soft and slow, like testing the edge of a cliff. Then he growled low in his throat, hands gripping my hips, and the kiss turned feral. He rose, pushing me back onto the bed, covering my body with his. His weight pinned me deliciously, every hard line against my softness. He broke the kiss only to trail his mouth down my neck, teeth grazing my collarbone as electrifying shock spread through my body. “You taste like sin, little kitten," He muttered. I arched into him, fingers digging into his shoulders. “Then sin with me daddy” He pulled back just enough to yank my shirt over my head, tossing it aside. Then his mouth was on my breast, tongue circling my n****e before sucking hard. I cried out, my back sinking deep into the mattress. “Xavier—please—” He switched to the other side, hand sliding down to cup me through my pants. Even through the fabric, the pressure made me whimper. “Say it,” He demanded. “Say you want this, say you want me” He growled. “I want you,” I gasped. “Oh God, I want you” That was the last thing he needed. Our clothes disappeared in a blink of eye, his shirt, my pants, underwear gone in seconds. Skin met skin, hot and urgent. He settled between my thighs, hard length pressing against me, teasingly. “Look at me,” He ordered again. Our eyes locked as he pushed inside me, slow at first, letting me adjust, before thrusting deeper, filling me completely. I moaned, nails digging into his back. "Ohh....yes!!" "Fuckin s**t!!!" He moved hard, deep strokes that stole my breath. Every thrust claimed me, the bed jingling with us as our skin made a clapping sound. His hand found mine, fingers interlacing, pinning it above my head. “You’re mine tonight, say it” He growled. “Yours, only yours” I breathed. He drove harder and faster, the bed creaking beneath us. Pleasure built like a storm, coiling tight in my stomach and when his thumb found my c**t, circling it in perfect rhythm, I shattered crying his name as waves of pleasures crashed over me. "Xavier...." "Ohh Xavier!!" "Yes, yes, yes!!" I felt it quickly...cloud nine. My eyes fell back and forth with my mouth wide open and he followed seconds later, burying himself deep with a guttural groan, pulsing inside me. We stayed like that, sweaty, tangled and breathing hard. He didn’t pull away, instead, he rolled us so I was laying over his chest, his arms locking around me like he’d never let go. “Still want to run?” he murmured, lips brushing my hair. I buried my face in his neck, heart still racing. “Not tonight” He chuckled softly, the first real, warm sound I’d ever heard from him. “Good, because I’m not done with you yet, little kitten” He said pinching my side waist. I closed my eyes steadying my breath as silence grew. Damon was probably somewhere around this house and tomorrow would bring consequences....But right now, in Xavier’s arms, I felt something safe yet dangerous.
