“Anna!” A Sage sized blur thudded into me when we walked into the pack house. “It’s so good to see you. Jacob told us that you were alive and... my god what happened?” I looked over her shoulder to see Carter, Emily, Jacob, Jane and Ben. An audience was the last thing I wanted after the events of the past months, but apparently they were a package deal.
“Easy there, we just got her back... we don’t want to scare her away,” Ethan said walking through the door carrying a sleeping Lizzie in her car seat. Audible gasps filled the room as everyone looked from me to Ethan to Lizzie. I shifted uncomfortably at the unwanted attention.
“Everyone this is Lizzie, our daughter,” he said proudly. My breath hitched at the sight of the two of them. A sight I never thought would come to be a few weeks ago. Traitor tears threatened the back of my eyes as I looked anywhere but the crowd forming around the two of them. An excited scream came from Emily who threw her arms around my neck as Jacob clapped Ethan on the shoulder.
“I’m so happy to see you... all of you,” Jane said smiling at the three of us. Her eyes swept over us and then landed on Ben who stood off to the side, trying to blend into the wall paper. I threw a raised eyebrow at Jane who's smile faltered ever so slightly.
“Anna! We have to get a nursery ready! What color do you want it to be? Oh! And what theme?” Emily asked excitedly.
“Uhm... whatever you think is best,” I said with a small glance to Ethan. I didn't really care what it looked like, but then again, I hadn't had had something to call mine in a long time. Mine. Ours.
“Let’s just give them some time to get used to being home, then we’ll talk color schemes,” he intercepted in the most heroic of ways.
He led the way back upstairs to our room carrying Lizzie gently in his arms. When we made it to the landing, I opened the door to the familiar room. I turned to Ethan who sank into one of the large arm chairs with Lizzie and sighed at the sight. The alpha who brought me out of the most brutal situation was so soft with the little baby in his muscular arms.
“How did you leave, by the way? That day you overheard us talking,” he asked hesitantly, trying hard not to meet my eyes.
“I jumped out the window in the bathroom,” I shrugged gesturing to towards the bathroom.
Ethan’s eyes glinted with humor as he threw a smirk in my direction. We locked eyes for a minute before a knock on the door broke our silent conversation drawing me out of the trance.
“Hi guys, Emilia brought over a pack n play for Lizzie. That way you two can get some rest, I’m sure it’s been... challenging,” Emily ended her sentence awkwardly.
“Would you mind taking her for a little bit?” Ethan asked her shooting me a glance. I nodded in approval, the past few days exhaustion finally sinking in to my bones. It was a miracle I was holding my head up.
“Really? I mean, sure!” Emily held her arms out to take the baby. Ethan transferred her sleeping form without waking her and handed over the diaper bag to Jacob who smiled down at Lizzie. The two left as quick as they came in cooing to the little life in Emily’s arms. I felt a piece of my heart go with them.
“They’ve been trying for a baby for a long time,” Ethan said quietly shutting the door with an audible click.
“I didn’t know that,” I said with a little guilt seeping in. I flopped on the bed with my back hitting the linen. It was the easily the softest piece of furniture I'd ever laid my head on. "There’s so much I don’t know, I guess.”
“You’ll figure it all out,” Ethan said laying down next to me. I rolled over to put my head on his chest and relax into his embrace. It should have felt awkward, but it was the most natural experience in the world. He responded by kissing my forehead and placing equal strokes down my spine leaving goose bumps in its wake. “I know this is a lot for you, but I want to help you through it.”
“I love you” I sighed.
“Marry me” he said simply without warning.
“What?” I gawked at him.
“Marry me, be my wife, so I know you’ll stay here with me forever.” “Really” he said with a twinkle in his eye. I searched those eyes for any trace of misgiving and found none.
“Okay,” I released a breath.
"Yeah?" He asked.
I brought my lips to his, kissing him full on the mouth in answer. His hands wrapped up in my hair sending shivers racing down my spine as I moved to put either knee on the side of his hips. Leaning down, I peppered frantic kisses on his jaw while slipping my hands under his shirt. Making quick work of the buttons, he leaned forward to help me remove it. He loosed a low rumble in his chest as he moved to take my tank top off, pulling one n****e into his mouth and rubbing the other between his forefinger and thumb. I groaned at the contact of his teeth grazing my bare skin until I couldn’t take it any longer. He slipped me out of my leggings and I did the same for his jeans. He rolled us over and slipped his hand in between my soaking wet core. He continued his kisses until he positioned himself between my legs. I let out an involuntary moan as his tongue came into contact with my c**t. The suspense built until I came undone and he trailed his way back up to my neck, kissing my marking spot and entering me with his pulsing c**k. We found our own rhythm until he was close enough to spill into me, I sunk my canines into his neck.
I immediately felt the connection surge through us, and it was like I was feeling everything through the both of us at the same time. He collapsed next to me and closed his eyes.
“Ethan?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m so glad you found me- again” I whispered.
“Me too, baby. Me too.”
