Chapter Six Time For Change At home in the Kent countryside in the southeast of England, also known as the garden of England … with it’s beautiful lush fields of green, long winding country lanes, and thatched cottages with rose beds on front lawns and white picket fences … well, that all sounds idyllic, doesn’t it? But it was, in fact, winter. Dirty, mushy, brown leaves were on the icy wet roads, trees were gnarly and bare without a single leaf; the days only lasted for what seemed like a few hours before it got dark again.
