Chapter 8 Professor Gazzer and Valeri Anko

We sat on the chair that had been prepared for us, and we waited for Professor Gazzer to get ready. I look Invo and I can tell he is nervous by the looks of it. Well, I think it is time for me to cleanse him from his nervousness. I pat on his back resulting in him getting startled by it. He looks at me with fumes.

“Oi, why are patting my back?” he asks me.

“You need to loosen up, I can tell by your looks that you are nervous.”

“There is nothing wrong with being nervous, but I want you to get a grip together and hold on.” I reassured him.

“Well, it's easy for you to say. I just don't want to f**k it up.”

“I don't want Eltia to get embarrassed again, and I want to show them all how awesome her boyfriend is.” he tells me.

Just by looking at his face, I can already tell that he will screw up. I need him to be himself if he does not want to humiliate Eltia, Professor Gazzer, BMP, Commander Erik, and me.

“Invo, here is a secret, just pretend they are empty seats and just be yourself,” I advise him.

With that, Professor Gazzer began his introduction.

“Ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon, thank you for giving me your time by joining this special lesson.” He welcomes them.

I can see that other classes join this lesson and there are several professors that I knew of and some new ones that are watching the students. Did he get pressure by the academy to let other class joins him, or he deliberately let them join him so that he can show off his former top 10 students.

“My name is Professor Gazzer, the Grand Wizard of the Baron Kingdom.” He introduced himself first.

I guess with that introduction, he wants to show off, but who knows.

“Today we have a special guest, two of my top students join me on this lesson. Give around of applause to them.” He instructed the students.

The room is filled with the clapping noise of the students. I look around the crowd of students and saw Valeri and Eltia sitting beside each other, but I did not see that person maybe he's absent.

“Without further ado, let me introduced my two former students.” he pointed at us.

“Let's start with the person wearing the cloak.” he pointed at Invo.

Invo stands up and walks towards Professor Gazzer.

“Errr... Good... Afternoon... My... My... Name is... Invo Carl... Carl... Carlsen... I am 18 yea... Eh... 21, 21 years old...” he began his introduction with a stuttering voice.

He brilliantly screwed his introduction. The crowd begins to laugh at him. This is embarrassing. He continued his introduction with that stuttering voice.

Eltia must be very embarrassed by now, and I think she will try to cover her face. I shifted my eyes to where she sits and to my expectation, she did cover her face. There is nothing that can be done the only thing is to feel pity towards them.

After Invo's catastrophic introduction. He then walks toward his seat and covers his face. I can only feel bad for him.

“Thank you for the Introduction Mr. Carlsen and now let introduced my next former student.” he pointed at me.

I stood up and walk beside him. The field is bursting with laughter and voices of the students, I took the liberty to scan the room before introducing myself. The rooms became silent as they notice that I am looking at them.

Did I accidentally give out my bloodlust?

Professor Gazzer pats my shoulder to answer that question. My bad.

I take a huge breath before exhaling it.

“Sorry for that, I accidentally let it out.” I chuckle.

No one in the crowd seems to get my jokes. Oh well, let just continue the introduction.

“Good Afternoon, students, my name is Adonis Taylor. Thank you for inviting us in this special lesson by Professor Gazzer, as you all know I am a former student at this academy and some of you might already know me. Right now I am currently working at BMP under the commands of Commander Erik. I was told by my commander this morning to demonstrate some magic. Hopefully, you guys can pick a thing or two when watching the demonstration. Thank you.” I introduced myself.

I shake Professor Gazzer's hands and walk towards my seat.

“Thank you for that introduction Mr. Taylor and on behalf of him, I like to apologize for that sudden bloodlust.” He apologizes.

He then began his lesson.

A big 3D projector standing at the center of the training field. It shows a 3D image of a human body and its nerve. Professor Gazzer taps on his pad and shows how mana uses this nerve to flow inside the human body.

“As all of you've known, this is how mana truly flows through your body. These nerves act as pathways for mana to flows” he explains.

After that, He then taps his pads to shows a 3D sword. The 3D projector shows how mana uses this nerve to flow through the sword.

“Look closely, how the mana uses this nerve to flows into the sword.”

The mana flows through the nerves and into the sword. The sword began to be surrounded by mana.

“With the sword being surrounded by mana. All you need to do is to add elemental magic to it.”

He then shows the next projection of a sword being engulfed with 7 different elementals.

He looks at the crowd of students.

“Any question?” he asks them.

A man raises his hand. Professor Gazzer point at the man.

“Yes, you there state your name and class first before going on with your question.” Professor Gazzer told him.

The man stands up and introduced himself as Reco Built. He is in Eltia's class. His question was how exactly mana flows into an object. He added that when he tried to add mana to a sword before, it only flows through his hands and not his swords.

Professor Gazzer smiles and tells the man to sit down.

“Mr. Built, do you remember this morning how you imagine your elements? It works the same way, but the slight difference is that you need to know the object and imagine the mana flows through it.” he explains.

“Let our guests do the honor of demonstrating how it's done.” he points at us.

I look at Invo who is still embarrassed by his introduction moments ago.

“Hey, Professor Gazzer wants us to demonstrate. I need you in your A-game.” I told him.

He looks at me and nods. We stood up and walk towards a stack of wooden swords. I pick up a sword from the stack. Invo did the same thing as me, and we walk towards the center of the field.

We began concentrating on flowing our mana to the sword. Invo manages to surround his sword with mana instantly. A bright blue light surrounds the sword. On the other hand, I struggled a bit but manages to flow it although the sword does not glow like Invo's sword.

All the students, watch in amusement when Invo's sword glows. I can also hear some students praising him. Well, Invo at least manages to get some of his dignity back.

I draw my attention to a group of students. They are bad-mouthing me about how I struggle to flows my mana and speculate on how did I get top 10 on the academy. It did not bother me too much.

I shift back to Invo who is now beginning to concentrating on applying fire magic to the sword. The sword began to be engulfed in flames. Invo held the sword in the air and the students watch in excitement. All of them are praising him.

The students then draw their attention to me and waiting to watch something similar. I held my hand and open my mouth.

“Sorry, I can't do something like that.” I told them.

I can see some of them are disappointed in me. Some start to laugh and others start whispering. Probably they are mocking me.

“Thank you for the demonstration. Adonis and Invo.” he thanks us.

He turns his body towards the students and clapped his hands two times to get their attention.

“Alright, now all of you here can grab a sword and try to do it.” he commanded them.

All the students seem to be discouraged. I can already know what they are thinking based on their looks. They are thinking that this is a drag and afraid that they do not manage to do what we did.

Professor looks at us and our eyes met. That look on his face is a face that wants us to help him teach the students. He walks towards us.

“Invo, Adonis, I need both of you to help students who are struggling.” he told us.

We both nod at the same time.

We look around the field to see if any students need our help. Most of them ask Invo for help and the others ask their professors. No one seems to need my help. Well, I do not care about it.

I look at Eltia, and she manages to draw her mana to the swords. Well, it is expected from someone born in the royal family.

I shifted my attention towards her friend. It seems that she is struggling to cast her element on the sword. I walk towards her.

“You look like you need some help.” I surprise her.

She shifted her eyes towards me and our eyes met.

“Yeah, can you help me? Invo and the others' professor seem to be busy, and you're the only one that is free.” she asks me.

“Yeah, it seems that I'm not that too popular with the students.” I joke.

I look at Invo and the other professors helping the students before turning my attention to Valeri.

“It seems like you can't apply your element into the sword.” I told her.

“Huh? How did you figure that out?”

“I glance at you.”

“Oh.”

“Well, any tips, teacher?” She playfully asks me.

She pokes fun at me by using her finger to poke my chest.

“Okay, you can stop poking my chest now.” I told her.

She quickly stops pokes at me and takes a few steps backward.

“Arghhhh... Sorry...” she frantically apologizes.

“You don't have to apologize.”

“What is your elemental affinity?” I ask her.

“Lightning and dark.” She answers.

“Which one you want to use?”

“The lightning element.”

“Have you ever been struck by lightning before?”

“No, I haven't.”

I tap on my bracer.

“Have you've been tased before?”

“No, why are you asking me that question.”

A taser manifested on my right hand. She looks at the taser and realizes what I am going to do next.

“How about a 'No'?” she scared.

“It is a yes.” I tease her.

“No-”

Before she says another word I already tase her. She is stunned by it and began to fall. I quickly grab her waist.

A few seconds later she recovers. She looks at me with red-hot eyes.

“Can you be a little gentle?” She glared at me.

“Sorry, about that.”

“I had to do it because I want you to feel the pain.” I told her

“So how does the pain feel like?”

“It hurts and my body just suddenly can't move, I can also feel the electricity flowing through me.” she explains.

“Good, now I need you to imagine that feeling and multiply by a thousand.”

“Here take this taser and push this button to turn it on.” I instruct her.

I gave my taser to her, and she follows my instructions.

“Now you need to imagine that what you are holding is lightning.” I explain

She looks at me confusedly.

“It doesn't make any sense.”

“Why do you think that?”

“Because there is no logic to it.”

I smile at her answer.

“Well, you're wrong.” I told her.

“ Human imagination is very important. It helps us create something for example a phone, a car, or the sword's blade.”

“Without it, we might not get what we have today.” I explain.

“So, all I need is to imagine?” She asks.

“Yes.” I reply.

“But, why would I need to feel the pain?”

I smile.

“Just imagine it.” I teased her.

“Ermm... Okay.” She has no choice but to agree with me.

“You already grabs the fundamental on flowing mana to an object, so I guess that it will be a walk-on the park.” I told her.

“Will it work?” she asks me for confirmation.

“It depends on you.” I smirk.

She pouted and return the taser to me. I tap on my bracer to store it.She close her eyes and she began to concentrate. The swords began to glow with mana.

“Imagine the feeling of electricity flowing through the swords.”

“Imagine the pain when it strikes.”

“Imagine holding lightning.” she mumbles

The swords began to electrify. She opens her eyes and looks surprises as she manages to add her elements to the sword.

“Do you see that dummy over there? I need you to strike it with the sword.” I instruct her.

I pointed where the dummy is. She follows my instructions and dashes forward.

She slashes the dummy and a loud screeching sound like a bird chirps echoes throughout the room.

The dummy was struck by Valeri's Lightning Sword, and it shows that the dummy receives 2000 damage. Valeri and all the students were surprised by it. I can only smile. Valeri exceed my expectation, I thought that the dummy only receives 500 damage but for her to get 2000 damages is surreal. Not bad for a first-timer.

She looks at me and notices my smile, and she does the same thing. I walk towards her to give her praise.

“Congratulations, You exceed my expectation.” I praised her.

“Ermm... Thank you.” she blushes.

It is kinda cute when she made that face.

“I thought that you can only get at least 500 damage.”

“How did you produce that much damage?” I ask her.

She looks down before opening her mouth.

“I just imagine every type of pain that I receive and added it to my lightning slash.” she explains with a low voice.

She seems disturbed. I think I shouldn't press any further.

She changes her expression to a playful expression and looks into my eyes. Oh dear, she is going to ask me to strike that dummy.

“Okay, I've followed your order. Now can you please show me-.”

“Sorry, I won't.”

I cut in before she can ask.

“Oh come on... Pretty please.” she flashes her eyes at me.

I try to avoid her eyes by turning behind my back but instead, she keeps poking my back.

“Are you afraid?” she teased me.

“No.”

“You are. I can see it on your face.”

“I'm not!” I told her.

I am getting annoyed by this and try to walk away from her.

“Come on, please show me.” she grabs my arm to force me.

“Okay, but just one time.” I sighed.

“Yay!” she claps both her hands happily.

I tap the screen of my bracer and select a sword. The swords manifested on my right hand. On the sword handle, there is an elemental gear, that I used to choose my preferred element. For example, this situation required me to choose lightning. Which, I did by turning the gear to select lightning.

I walk in front of the dummy and concentrate my mana on the sword. The sword amplifies my mana and began to glow with lightning. I take my stance and s***h the air in front of the dummy, by doing so, a lightning s***h appears and strikes the dummy.

The dummy received the lightning s***h and began to calculate the damage. The damage received by the dummy is 20 thousand. 5 times stronger than Valeri's.

I turn behind and look at her. The expression on her face is shocked and surprised. She then looks at me and starts pouting. It seems that she's dissatisfied with it. I walk towards her.

“Sorry, I got carried away.” I apologize.

“You cheated.” She pouted.

“Well, you said to strike the dummy and I did.”

“But, you use something to amplify your mana and damage points.”

“So?”

“So?? It means that you cheated!” she shouts.

The other student turns their attention to us.

“You didn't say I can't use it.”

“So I just assume that you allow it.” I explain.

“Fine then... But before I acknowledge that you are a winner...”

Since when did we compete?

“I want to ask you something.” she tells me while pointing her finger at my face.

From her expression, I can tell that it is important. For her, at least.

“Did you build that weapon?”

“Only the elemental gear.”

“How about the sword?”

“It was built by our engineer.”

She looks at the sword before looking back at me.

“Can I hold the sword?”

“Sure.”

I hand her the sword and she grabs it. She looks at the sword.

“Is it elemental stone? Where did you get it?” She asks while looking at the sword.

“Yes, and I'm afraid I can't answer that.” I told her.

The elemental stones are from an abandoned facility inside a cave. At that time, I accidentally found it when I fall from a cliff. I enter the cave and saw a wooden chest, I open the chest and found the stones inside it and I take it.

After I took the stones, I look around and saw some books. I open the books and start reading them. The books show how to harness the power of the elemental stone. I used that knowledge to build the elemental gear.

To this day that cave became my workshop and I intend to keep it that way.

“Oh okay.” She did not want to press any question about where I get it.

“Did, you built it when you're at the academy?”

“Yes.”

“Did you build it because you have low mana quantity?”

“Yes.” I answer her.

She looks at me and then gives me the sword. I take the sword from her hand.

“Can I ask one more question, but it is a sensitive one.” she asks me.

“Go ahead.” I told her.

“Did you get ever get bullied?” She told me with a low voice.

I nod slowly. She looks down before facing me again.

“I'm sorry if I hit a bad spot in your heart.” She apologizes with a soft voice.

“It happens years ago, it never affects me, and you should do the same too.” I advise her.

She was surprised when I told her that. We look at each other for quite a while before getting called by Professor Gazzer.

“You need to tell Eltia about it.” I advise her.

I walk past beside her and towards where Professor Gazzer and Invo stand.
