Chapter sixteen :Tell It To Her Not Me!.

Becky’s POV

“Wow bro this house is beautiful.... I think am going to love it”I heard a girl’s voice from my sleep,God who could be shouting this early afternoon and for what reason?,I asked my self as I got out of the bed.

“Let me go see my room...hope it’s beautiful bro?”.why is this person shouting,i opened the door and found Suzan running up stairs, “oh hi”I said as she just hissed and pass me to the next room. ‘Did she just hissed’ I kept asking myself as I watch her shut the door.

“You’re home?,I thought you went to see your parents”.I turned back to see Gabriel climbing the stairs,he was not wearing a serious look.I just stood quietly watching him come close.

“She is Suzan,my sister”he informed,but i just slightly rise my eyebrows,sister! but I thought they say ‘HE’ is the only child of the Brown’s family,so how come he had a sister or are the females not considered a ‘CHILD’.

“Actually she is an adopted child,my parents wanted a female child so.....”Gabriel added as he noticed my thoughts.

“I didn’t ask,I don’t also care”I replied,sounding uninterested,but deep down I was eager to know more,i can’t just barged into someone’s privacy.

“Bro the room is superb,do you mind if i add some few things of my choice to it?”Suzan request pouting.Is this the key remote to Gabriel’s head ‘pouting’,summer did it before now this chameleon of a sister.

“Sure anything of your choice”Gabriel replied smiling.I just stood there invisible to the new girl or should i say ‘girl next door’.

“Umm Suzan,Just tell the maids what you want and they will get it done,okay”Gabriel said turning to leave.

“Gabriel bro,I have call auntie summer she is coming over,why don’t you wait so we have lunch together?”Suzan asked sounding thrilled.I just kept my eyes on my nails,i could feel Gabriel’s eyes on me.

“Come on bro it will be fun to have you around,and besides it’s been long you joined me for lunch,so don’t say no”Suzan requested pouting again.I just got bored with the drama and went inside my room to change into something else as I planned to leave the house for them to enjoy.

As I stepped down from the last step,Summer walked in squealing as soon as she saw Suzan who also ran towards her the two had a tight hug before Gabriel came and summer gave him a kiss.

“Oh please you too stop,I am still here”Suzan said smiling,but I didn’t missed the smirk on summer’s face when she saw me.

“Hey Becky,how are you”?”summer ask looking concerned,Seriously is she also an actress,if yes then she is a flop actress compared with me.

“Wow summer...”I ran to her and gave her kisses on her face.

“...Am doing just good,wow ma’am you’re looking great...”i said checking her out,she was wearing a short skirt with i t-shirt tied at one end,with a high heel and and a face covered with different colors of makeup which makes her looks like a clown and fake eyelashes,isn’t she ‘great’.

“You so horribly gorgeous”I completed my sentence and walked out of her,i didn’t missed the embarrassment look she has on her face which makes her looks like a drenched clown ha ha ha.Suzan wasn’t ready to swallow as she shot me glare,as for Gabriel his face was indifferent,I can’t tell what he was thinking at this point.

“Where are you going?”he asked calmly

“It’s shouldn’t be you problem right?”I asked as i went out through the door.

“Am sorry,for keeping you waiting out for some time”Andy apologies as I reached her house,I really wanted to stay in a place where I wouldn’t think of anything order than gossiping about life,Andy called Jennifer who seems to be bored too.

“Ah a box a pizza un?and a bottle of wine,great Jennifer great!”Andy said opening the door for her.

“Wow Jenny! you seem to be more bored than I’m”I said giving her a hug as we gather around the table.I wasn’t a good drinker so was Jennifer except Andy,we drank until stupor.The day was pitch dark before i realized,I didn’t bother much since we’re girls I didn’t mind to spend the night here moreover,no one cares about me,Jennifer was already sleeping,Andy was not that drunk but stayed quiet smiling sheepishly,as for me my eyes were half closed,when my phone started ringing.

Gabriel’s POV

I was still awake waiting for Becky to return,the time was 8:15pm and is she’s nowhere to be found at this time of the night,should i call her parents and ask her whereabouts,no what if they don’t know where she is therefore causing them to be worried,No let me call her first,the phone went through but didn’t answer, ‘what’s wrong with you this time Uh?’ I said dialing the number again this time she the call was answered but it wasn’t Becky’s voice.

“Hello..”the voice asked

“Umm Sorry,can i Speak with the owner of the phone?”I asked

“Hey it’s me Andy,Becky is drunk right now she can’t drive,can you come pick her or better still wait till tomorrow”Andy said,her voice was a little doozy she sounds drunk too,what is wrong with this ladies.

“No I will come get her”I respond but the line was already dead.

I reached Andy’s apartment,it was cozy and the girls were laying peacefully except Andy who was busily cleaning the mess they did.

“Hey you’re here in no time”Andy said as he saw me walking in,she voice was now okay but was somehow staggering.

“Yes can I take her now?,and thanks for answering the call”I said lifting Becky from the couch.

“It’s nothing,Gabriel...i don’t mean to puck my nose in your affairs,but Becky is my friend,I can’t see her this hurt every time.I think you should consider Becky when bring summer to the house next time”Andy said dryly.

“I will,but believe me I didn’t do it this time,my sister did,she invited summer over”I explained hoping she would believe me.

“It’s okay”she replied opening the door for me.I carefully put Becky inside the car.

Becky’s POV

“Ahh!”I shouted as I tried to rise my head,it was banging painfully.

“Stay put,here have this...”Gabriel Said softly putting a glass of God knows what it is,I try to spit it out but he pinched my nose,I couldn’t breathe so I swallowed the drink on chocking.

“Ahem!ahem!!...What w-was that?”I asked coughing my throats out.

“It’s a concoction...it will help with the ache”he replied putting the glass away and sat close to me.

“Do you hate so much that you want me dead?”i asked as my eyes turned red due to the chock.

“So...you can’t handle a drink?,why then bother yourself”he said calmly.

“How is that supposed to be your problem sir ?”i sneered

“It has to be my problem,because I had to stay up late just to bring you back home”he replied in close teeth

“Umm So are you the first person to bring someone who’s drunk home?besides i was at Andy’s you shouldn’t have bothered,I wasn’t going to spend the night in another man’s room”i replied stressing the word ‘another’ sure he knows what am saying,cause he is now glaring at me.

“I don’t care what you say,but you’re no longer Leaving this house without telling me where you’re going”he stated

“Wow,i don’t need to tell you anything about my whereabouts as you don’t tell me yours,and you don’t have any rights on my movements”I replied getting out of the bed.

“Well Mrs,I have every right on you the moment I married you and concerning me,you never cared about my whereabouts so what’s the point in telling you”he shouted

“Really Gabriel?you think that i don’t care about your whereabouts?what was the rules again..oh my business shouldn’t be yours,don’t interfere”I replied mimicking his bossy voice.

“Whatever,i don’t want to have this discussion with you,and my decisions are final”he said standing up to leave.

“Oh...do you even care to know anything about the family you got married into?”he asked coming back to sit at the same spot where he sat before but this time he was very close to me which makes me feel uncomfortable.

“I don’t understand,i thought you said you’re don’t want to have this discussion?”i asked sharply,his closeness was not doing any good.

“Yes but this is something different,i am talking about my parents”he replied

“You don’t know anything about me either so?”i asked shrugging

“That is where we have a problem,you keep acting like you don’t care,what is it with you,can’t you just calm down and understand things,I am talking about my moms birthday that’s tomorrow night and you’re shrugging it off”he asked aching his neat eyebrows.

“Oh you should have told me instead of yelling” I replied as i sat at the couch opposite him.

“You’re unbelievable,the party is tomorrow night ,theme is red”he said getting out of the room.God how am I supposed to attend a party with one arm!.

Today is Saturday and Gabriel didn’t go to work he just stayed in his study room doing what God only knows.i came down stairs and found Suzan shouting one of the cooks.

“What happened?”I asked the cook ignoring Suzan completely.

“I-I prepared the food she wanted for breakfast and pasta and cheese and then she said she wants simple tea...and now she is requesting for fried yam and egg sources,and my hours of working is over”the cook explained calmly.

“I see,you can go now...”I ordered the cook but Suzan dragged her back.

“If she goes from here,who will cook the food?i don’t have any problem if you would do that”Suzan said looking at me in the eye.

“Listen girl,I don’t have any problem with you,she is my cook,she works for me,takes orders from me,and I paid her it.She doesn’t work over time for me,I won’t let you do that,it either you eat one of those dishes you asked her to do the first time,better still you can make something for yourself.”I said taking the cook by the hand and walked away.

“I will tell my brother that you asked the cook to disrespect me”Suzan said stamping her foot before walking past us.

I was watching a telenovela when Gabriel and Suzan came down stairs,Suzan stood in front of me blocking my view,while Gabriel was standing close to chair resting his arm on it.

“What is the meaning of this?”I asked irritated with her attitude.

“My bro wants to speak with you”Suzan answered pouting.I looked at Gabriel who was just watching like it was,non of his business.

“Is this how she disrespect me in front of you and you do nothing?”I asked in surprise,I would never had asked him to respect me,but this little drat was getting on the edge.

“Please Becky,why didn’t you allow the cook to prepare the breakfast for her,can’t you just at least try make friends with people around you?”He ask instead,he seems tired,but right now I don’t care.

“In that case,I employed the cook and she only cooks for me,you can go find some other cooks to do her silly request not mine”I said getting up from the chair.

“Becky,you employed the cook or not,that’s not the issue,for Christ sakes Suzan is a guest can’t you be a good host”he asked in near frustration.

“Then she should behave as I guest that she is,tell it to her not me”I replied why climbing the stairs.I don’t know what happened after them,but I heard the car engine been started,guess they are leaving the house.

I was about to leave the house Gabriel and Suzan return.

“Where are you going?”Gabriel asked stopping me from moving.Honestly what is wrong with him?.

“You just left the house and returned without telling me anything,so can’t i go out of this house anymore”?”I asked the anger inside was getting the better of me.

“I took Suzan out for brea....”

“I didn’t ask you,and don’t bother about me I will be doing just fine without you”I said interrupting him,I don’t care to know where he went.

When I returned from shopping, actually I went to get a new red fairly dress and a matching pairs of heels.

“Am sorry Becky....”,now i am sitting at the terrace enjoying the view when a voice brought me back to life,it was Suzan.

“....I didn’t mean to be rude to you,am really sorry can you please forgive me?”Suzan apologized,her face looks so sincere but something inside me wasn’t move at all,she was just acting in front of an actress,how interesting Uh?.

“So I bought this for you,can you have it,for me it will means that you have truly forgiven me”she she continued.I couldn’t fine the right words to say that this point ‘really bringing me a well cooked macaroni and chicken stew.Is she trying to fool me or what?’

“Becky it’s not a big deal just accept it”Gabriel said also joining his sister.

“Sis i promise not to misbehave with you again,please!”Suzan pleads pouting,yuck does she always was do this,though it makes her looks sincerely sorry,she can fool others,certainly not me.

“Becky stop making it looks hard,just forgive her,besides she is my sister so i know she is sincerely sorry”Gabriel pressed.

“So you know that she did wrong and you decided to put me on a head start,well as for the apology,you don’t have to,I don’t have any problem with you just don’t come close to me,and as for this meal..I don’t think I will not have it”I finally responded turning my head back to it’s formal position.

“Becky she is my sister,so don’t think too much”Gabriel said walking towards me.

“I wasn’t thinking too much,yes she is your sister,and the last time it was the ‘love of your life’.”i replied not looking at his face,Suddenly the place became silent.
