Chapter Ten:the waking up.

It’s been two weeks and three days since Becky was in the hospital.Today is another day that everyone was there to watch her sleep.Gabriel was also present,since he has apologized to everyone they allowed him sit close to Becky,not that close though,but at least he can get a better view of her.

Gabriel POV

I sat close enough for me to see her face clearly,somehow I thank God for this incident that happened,if not i might not be able to recognize her if we come across each other by the road.Her eye lashes were long,thin straight nose with a pink lips.i haven’t seen her smile except for the smirk she gives.Her fingers were straight and thin with fine natural nails,i can’t tell the shape she has since she was covered with the hospital sheets.All of a sudden her eye lashes moved....maybe it was just an illusion as it stops.Before I shifted my gaze to Andy who was also looking at her like she saw what I saw, “did you see it?”I asked,she just shrugged her shoulders not wanting to say anything,I let it go,but just then Becky’s fingers moved,and this time every one present saw it.

“I will go call the doctor”I said rush out of the room.I quickly went to the doctor’s office and request his presence,on reaching the room we heard voices some were crying,i quickly opened the door and found every one rejoicing and hugging.when I reached out to see what happened to her,her eyes were close but looked calm the moment she opened them I was lost in her beep blue sea eyes,all the calmness i saw was gone there was no expression on her face,with the short look she turned to her mom and the calmness returned.Everyone gave her attention,they all questioned her but she just answer with a nod.

“Gabriel What are you thinking,go get something for her to eat”Mrs Nicholas said bringing me back to life,as I was about to leave a cold voice stoped me.

“Sorry?”I asked as I didn’t know who spoke thinking it was my Dad as he was also here.

“I said don’t worry,if I want anything,I know what,where,when and who to get them”She repeated her voice was calm but the aura was strong enough to stop you.I felt disappointed and ashamed,was she trying to disgrace me in public and that too in front of my parents and hers,is this the same person I felt pity on.This time I wanted to ask her what was my offense,where did I ever go wrong with her,just then the answer just hit my head like a bullet,yes she has every right to be mad but not in this place and not in front of the family right?.

“Gabriel it’s okay I will go get the food”Mathew said and left the room every one was silence waiting for someone to speak.

“The room is too crowded,I think i need space”She said looking straight into my eyes.I know she was asking me to leave but I decided to play dumb

“Can you leave,summer might be waiting,and tell her the game she started I will end it,just leave”she said more firmly,this time rest of the family looked at me,their eyes requesting me to leave,if i say that I wasn’t hurt then i lied.i walked out of the room in shame and regret,as for the regret I don’t know why I felt that way.On my way to the garage I saw Mathew.

“Hey did something come up in the office?”Mathew ask

“No not at all the boss ma’am asked me to leave,can you imagine!”i said in sadness written on my face.

“Wow...i mean she might still be upset you know,just give her some time to cool down,see ya tomorrow”he said as he runs upstairs.i jus shook my head in frustration.

Becky was still at the hospital after two days,though Gabriel came around he never stayed for long as soon as the people noticed his present,he goes back.And today Becky will be discharged,her parents insisted that she come along with them but she refused saying that she will go back to her house (she and Gabriel’s).

“But who will be helping your with some personal stuff,you know....since your hand is still..Uh?”Andy asked concern

“It’s okay I will handle it”Becky said shrugging

“But....”

“Mom i said I will handle it”Becky said interrupting Mrs Nicholas.Gabriel just stood watching them.

“Okay it’s time to go,the sun is a little hot,and don’t forget to take some rest when you reached”Mrs Brown slightly pushed Becky into the car,Gabriel was about to enter when a question he never expected hits him

“What and why are you entered this car?”Becky asked rising her eyebrows

“At least it’s my car,and I will be driving you home”he answered as he starts the engine

“And you thinking will ride with you? if you don’t get out,I will”she barked.Gabriel thank his star that car glass was tinted no one could know what was going on inside,Gabriel quickly locked the doors with the remote.

“Are you crazy?let me out,or you won’t like what I will do next?”Becky shouts

“What next do you ever do,that you think I like.just stay calm and let me drive”Gabriel said calmly

“Oh you don’t like the ones I have been doing,well you won’t like this either”she yelled and tried to knock her head on the window when Gabriel quickly hold her in place. “What is wrong with you,can just stop already,am tired of all this attitude you’re giving,and don’t think you’re hurting me doing this,you’re just hurting yourself”Gabriel said more calmly as he drag her back to the sit.Becky just shook his hands off her and rest her head,closing her eyes not wanting to talk.Since the car didn’t move the family outside be came curious,Andy taped the window and it wined down “is there any problem?”she asked looking at Becky who was still closing her eyes.

“No just trying to her in order”Gabriel answered and drove off.

Becky POV

Don’t think am weak,I just don’t want to create any more scene here,let’s get home,them you will know what I am capable of.On reaching home i came out of the car before Gabriel,he just let me be and ask Samson to bring the bags in.

“What would you like to eat?”Gabriel asked me as I entered my room,honestly what did he take me for?

“Do I look so dumb and stupid to you”I asked not looking at him

“Please it’s just a simple question that needs a simple answer,don’t just start” he replied,I could hear the frustration in his voice.

“Do you think I would eat anything that comes from you?”I said with a sneer

“It’s just for your health,don’t get carried away by this little treats” he sneered back

“Off course,it for my health,so I wouldn’t want to eat,touch anything that has to do with you,I don’t want to be killed with poison”I replied shrugging.He opened his mouth but no words came out after glaring at me for some time,he then asked me to tell the cook what I wanted to eat.

“If you asked summer not to eat anything prepared by me,thinking that I would hurt her,instead she should eat from your own cooks,what makes you think that I am safe to eat from the cook since they only follow your instructions?....don’t act like you care,I have already hired a cook and a maid,so with out wasting my time,I have to rest.shot the door while leaving”I said as I lay down to sleep.I don’t care about the shock on his face right now,this is just the start by the time I finish,tsk tsk tsk,I will be asking a question like “is it me you’re looking for?”.

“Hello?”

“Hey what’s up babe?”Gabriel asked

“Am not fine Gabriel,I am having a headache and cold,can you please come over”it was summer,she requested weakly.

“I am on my way,don’t stress yourself okay?”He order and left the house quickly.

‘At least he still cares about me,hmm,Becky you still have a long way to go before getting him,but for the main time he’s mine.You got lucky now,next time I will make sure you feel the pain of sharing what belongs to me,I don’t care if you hate him now,but since Gabriel has seen your face,then am afraid of losing him.So I have to act at any given chance to gain his attention.’summer told herself.
