Chapter thirteen:The Worried Gabriel

Gabriel’s POV

I reached home and found no one,the security man told me that he did not see Becky leaving the house,so where could she be,I’ve checked the whole house and she is no where to be found,I wanted to call her but then it dawn on me that I don’t have her contact,how ridiculous right?can you imagine not having your wife’s contact.welcome to the world where you don’t have you wife’s contact ha ha ha!.After laughing out my frustration,I decided to call Mathew to see if he can reach her.

“I will ask Andy to help out”Mathew said before disconnecting the call

Not long he called back saying that Becky’s number is unreachable,I request Andy to send me the number which she did,I tried calling her but it was unreachable,I don’t know any of her friends aside Andy,now what do I do,I called my parents and informed them what happened they tried calling Becky’s parents but non of their contact was connecting at that point of time,I was starting to get worried more like panicking all because of a woman who doesn’t even appreciate my presence.

Main time,Mrs Nicholas and her daughter were about to start cooking when she received a message from her younger brother that he has arrived at the airport.Just then mr Nicholas arrived,due to the excitement they turned off their phones so as to not get distracted when their bounding.Becky was the most excited as she was going to see her cousin after three years.As soon as they reached the airport they saw Jack walking towards them,they shared a big hug before entry the car.

“Wow B,i heard you got married,and you didn’t invite me,that’s is unfair”Jack said pouting like a child

“Come on,I wasn’t even there,next thing i heard was Becky you now married”Becky replied uninterested with the topic,since Jack already know how she got married he didn’t press the discussion further

“Anyway I wanted to prepared something for dinner but since you’re here jack,I don’t think you have the time to wait,so why don’t we go somewhere relaxing and have dinner,we could also catch up with each other”Mrs Nicholas said trying not to make the drive bored.

“Sure why not Aunty,and besides I got something to talk about,I think that i have found the right woman for me”Jack said winking at Becky.

“Really so tell me what is she like...is she the quiet type or just like me?”Becky asked

“Ahem..What do you think I would do with someone like you.... you’re so stubborn and you’re talk to much when given the opportunity”Jack said,and Becky pinched him on the cheek.

“So you’re saying that I am not worthy of being compared with her uhh?she asked acting angry

“See...not only are you stubborn but also troublesome,what do think I would do with a girl like you who knows how to act too”Jack replied pinching her back.some they start to fight,this is what they do when ever they argue,Jack kept pinching her until she gave up.

“Don’t think you won,you’re just lucky that my other arm is betraying me now....but when I will be okay...I promise I will get you”Becky said panting heavily

“Ho cut the crap,you always say that”Jack said sitting back.

“Have I told you before?”Becky asked faking innocent

“Okay Okay,grownups we’ve reached”mr Nicholas said stopping them from arguing,they step out of the car and entered a restaurant which was newly opened.

Gabriel called his parents tell them that he has found Becky,he actually did this so that they won’t get to know that he was worried,and didn’t want them to panic all because of their daughter-in-law,he dismissed the security to go back home,since he was now left alone,he sat outside the house trying to reach Becky but the number wasn’t connecting,he has already sent some of his boys to check if she was with her parents but they said no one was at home.Gabriel started pacing around the compound to and fro,after what seems like forever a black car pull at the front gate,Becky came out laughing.

Gabriel’s POV

What do I do now?wha....,I turned around sharply hearing the sound of laughter,it was her,the little woman that got me worried,And now she is laughing with who?just then a young guy came out of the car and gave her hug,not just any hug,a tight one and she even kiss him good night,honestly somehow i felt jealous and anger burning inside me.i opened the gate with the remote control,great!she even masked the smile on her face while entering the compound.I watched her walk towards me with no emotions on her face,is she so cold hearted.

“Hey did something happened?”she asked me looking so innocent like she didn’t find problems with what she did,really?

“Wow...”I said clapping my hands,and she gave me this surprise look

“Wow woman,wow,you left the house and came back now,all you could ask is if something happened?”I said trying hard not to yell at her,not that I was afraid besides their is no one home except the two of us.

“I just ask the question you’re standing out side,so I was thinking maybe something happened”she replied calmly

“Oh...so where have you been?” I asked irritated

“My whereabouts shouldn’t be your problem,besides I didn’t ask you any time you leave the house”she replied a bit louder.off curse how will you ask my whereabouts when you barely take me as your husband?

“I asked I question and I need an answer,and don’t make things difficult than it’s now.so answer my question”I said calmly

“Okay lets do it this way,I answer yours,you answer mine,what say?” she asked calmly

“Okay if that’s the way we would do this with out arguing fine”I agreed

“Ok I went to see my mom”she replied.Do I look like a fool? the boys said no one was at your parents house,no one,not even your parents.

“Really?because I don’t seem convinced with that answer”I said shrugging

“Ok then suit yourself with any answer suitable for you”she replied bluntly

“Really? Okay let’s say I buy that excuse,but who was that guy that dropped you”I asked not minding if was getting jealous or was i?.she just raised her eyebrows at me.

“He is my cousin...any problem with that?...and besides why this question,why don’t you mind your own business while I do mine”she said and tried to walk away,I dragged her back.

“What is wrong with you?why are you so difficult to talk to?i just asked a question and you’re bouncing it over like I don’t know what am doing?”I asked her as she just kept looking at my hand holding her with disgust on her face,how cruel.

“Let go of me Gabriel,your girl friend already paralyzed one arm,and you want to break this one”she requested coldly

“At least can’t you communicate with out bring summer into this....you’re always complaining of her,what?is she pretty than you?or you’re jealous.you see why I liked her she never complained,she is always understanding,not you who find every reason to nag”I barked.

Becky’s POV

Oh so that’s it,she never complained.

“Fine for me,cause am not her I’m Becky”i yelled

“Great!”he shouted and went inside.

I don’t know,but I was hurt,he compared me with summer,he barely know me,he doesn’t even know what I look like been the real me,he just concluded that summer is better?how dare he.I rushed inside and saw him put his hands inside his pants pocket,walking to and fro,I dropped my bag on the chair and stood near the door.

“I..i mean we,that’s my parents.we went to the airport to receive my cousin who arrived today”I explained,but I don’t know why,he stopped and looked at me for sometime,

“Is that enough reason for you not to turn on your phones”he asked coldly

“I turned my phone off as I wasn’t expecting any calls,and I was with my parents and their phone didn’t ring as well,so I guess they turned theirs off too”I said shrugging.so you see it’s a family habit we normally turn off our phones when we want to have a family time so that we won’t be distracted by any calls mostly related to work.

“I see,but at least let someone know your whereabouts when leaving the house next time”after saying that he went up stairs.I took out my phone and put it on,not Less than two minutes it’s rings,who would be calling me at this time of the night?i asked as I check the caller ID,it was Andy.

“Hello Becky are you okay?,thank goodness you picked,where were you we all got worried”she asked sighing out of relief,Wow am I that important?

“Hey what happened,I only went to see mom and besides jack is back”I informed expecting her to be happy and change the topic.

“Come on Becky,you got everyone worried and that too your husband started panicking,why did you leave the house without informing anyone”Andy said,I can imagine her rubbing her forehead right now.

“Am fine,you get some sleep,am really tired”I said,after say goodbye,I was in a shock! Gabriel got panic over my disappearance,that explains why he was so angry,and stressed.Whatever Becky,he is afraid that his name might be ruined,not because he cared,but if he didn’t care he wouldn’t have waited outside for me to come right?Argh what is wrong with me.i yelled at myself and went to the bedroom only to see Gabriel sleeping peacefully like a child.hmm I just need a cold bath.
