Chapter one :back home

Becky’s POV

Honestly I don’t know how I feel right now,I mean how am I supposed to feel...how do you feel when you’re supposed to be in your work place abroad and then boom you gets a call from you Dad asking you to return home for your own WEDDING...seriously and that too not knowing the said man,argh I hate myself right now.

“So this how being friends with you is like ?”

I raised my head to see my friend Andy walking towards my table,she has been my friend from childhood,and with the way she is now sitting in front of me like a judge waiting for me me to speak is not something that i don’t like at all.

“Hey...What do you mean by that?”I asked raising my eyebrows though I know what she meant

“oh please don’t give me that crap,that too you couldn’t even call to say that you’re coming back home..really is this how love turns you up.....”

“Argh! What bloody love Andy ?”I asked cutting her short

“You won’t believe if I say,I don’t know him let alone wants to get married....I mean I don’t understand!”I said almost yelling my frustration in her. Almost.

“W-What ...Really,And you didn’t tell me anything about it” she asked

“good God Andy!what do you want me to tell you hm ?or should I spell the words like,I don’t understand what they’re saying and I don’t know the man in question”I asked through gritted teeth

“Wow..Wow Becky Wow....i mean seriously?”she asked,I didn’t answer her instead i just rolled my eyes

“Yes seriously,plus the wedding is three weeks from now..Now!”I said hitting the table

“Honestly,I an lost and short of words for the first time,I mean this is the twenty first century who does that now?giving their daughter’s hand in marriage without her consent,and who is the man from hell !”she asked me.

like she’s asking me the same question I have been asking since I got the information,and the only answer my family could afford was ‘you will get to know him after the wedding’really ! cheap right? Oh poor me.

“The worst part is that I have been calling the damned guy and he is not picking my calls,Wow perfect for husband right?”

“Yeah perfect”she answered rolling her eyes

“God,i don’t feel good about it,and no one is even willing to hear me out..it’s just like i was never part of the family”I complained

“Take heart,if things gets tough after the wedding then you get divorced,no big deal”she said shrugging her shoulders.

Have I told you she hates boy,men what ever you call them so long they are all male,using the word dislike is an understatement,they are disgusting if you ask her,so I won’t blame her for giving me that advice,,I mean she talks from experience...

“What..why are you looking at me like that,I didn’t say anything wrong,and besides if I were you your shoes I will just give it two weeks,a month is the least,and before you say JACK am a proudly divorced woman,who cares,they’re disgusting”she defended herself

See I told you,don’t blame her.

“So what are you planning to do?” she asked me this time she is serious.

“What am I supposed to do,I wanted ‘us’ to talk things out before the wedding and ‘he’ is not picking my calls” I said stressing the Us and He.

“The main question should be why do your parents wants you to marry him,is he rich,oh flirty rich?,are your family bankrupt,is it a contract marriage,is anyone sick in your family that only his money can cure?,or....,”

“Shot that pit you call mouth....what is wrong with you? don’t you have any hints of good thoughts in you.jeez”I yelled at her

“I might not be as rich as you but that doesn’t mean you should take me for granted”I warned

I came from a middle class family okay so you,and one is sick in my family,I mean one could possibly be sick right?because yesterday i arrived,every one was okay.

“Okay am sorry for thinking that way,but what would cause such a wedding”she apologized

“It’s ok am just confuse as nobody is not even talking to me,instead they’re asking me about my..argh they’re taking about the wedding dress,who does that”I asked in total frustration

“It’s okay Babe besides it’s three weeks to the said date not three days,so maybe you can come up with some excuse to stop the wedding from happening”she suggested

“Tsk tsk didn’t I tell you I spend the whole yesterday night trying to talk them out of the idea”I said and rested my aching back on the chair

“Wow...I don’t know if i am to be happy for you or mourn with you girl,tsk tsk tsk that’s the music life wants to play for you”she shaking her head

“Yuck And am expected to dance to the tunes of life?holy me”I said as I stood up to leave,an supposed to sleep if I hadn’t received a call from her last requesting we should meet so we could chat up “am leaving so as to get some sleep if possible”

“We should go now”she agreed as we walked out of the cafe we got into our separate cars and drove off.

At home.

I entered the hall and found some group of people sitting chatting and giggling,I care less so I decided to climb up to my room when my dad voice stopped me from talking another step,I swallowed my anger and turned around with a smile it didn’t reach my eye,who cares,who am I smiling for?

“Aren’t you suppose to say hello to your husband’s family”mr Nicholas asked with a warning tone.

Really!,husband already,I don’t even know his name,let alone these bunch of good looking,beautiful and handsome clowns sitting in my living room,with their eyes all glued on me

“Husband family,husband,and who’s husband?cause I don’t remember me having any siblings who got married,as I am the only child in this house”I asking giving them my surprise look,and I didn’t missed a bit of their disappointment written on their faces

“Becky we did raise you better the that”Nancy said,that my mom the ever ideal wife,all her life she has trained me be a perfect WIFE.sorry what should you expect from a girl who her dreams just turned into nightmares

“Tsk tsk tsk,off curse you did better....”

‘Flash lights’

I was about to say something when my eyes catch one of the men with a phone it’s cameras facing me,what a nerve he got,I turned my attention towards him when everyone was also looking at his direction

“Really!?”I asked as I am now standing in front of him,he is handsome wearing a business suit oh my he is even shy really?

“And what are planning to do with the photo,umm you look professional but you attitude,tsk tsk,unprofessional,shouldn’t you have asked?hmm isn’t that what the Bible say ‘ask and it shall be given’?”I asked him,and now he is no longer shy but looking straight into my eyes,what nerves right?

“I am only following orders ma’am”he replied

“Really?and who’s orders are you following ‘ma’am’ sir”I asked not minding how arrogant I become,because they are pissing me off

“My boss and he wants to speak with you tomorrow at green lights cafe 8:00am”he replied

Honestly I don’t know about you but this is becoming funnier,I mean he just say everything just the way a robot would have passed the information

“Ha ha.....you know what I like you ..ha ha ha”I said laughing and giving him a friendly tap on his strong shoulders

“I liked the way you just delivered your message,you know what tell your boss that I will be there,and make sure you pass it just the way you did here,and I hope I see more of you these days cause I need this kind of attitude to keep me alive.and as for the pictures I don’t mind........”i turned around back to the family “......it would have been nice to meet you all if it was in a different circumstance and situation,am sorry have a nice day”I said dryly and rushed back to my room,my ‘comfort zone’.
