Chapter twenty:She Is My Wife (2)

Gabriel’s POV

I left the office with summer,she requested we have dinner together,i reluctantly followed her,i Can’t say no to her,well not that i Can’t,she wouldn’t let me go so easy without giving her any reasonable excuse which i don’t have at this point,and to avoid lying to her,I have to go with her.I don’t know if Becky is waiting for me to have dinner together,i didn’t tell her that i was leaving the office so as to not cause quarrel between the two girls.Argh What a fool I’m.

Not long i received a message from Annie informing me about Becky’s whereabouts,so did Samson.How stupid of me to forget that i have a wine party with those pervert!.

“Um sorry,i have to take my leave,am running late for an important meeting i need to go right now”i said standing up from my seat.

“Won’t you need a woman beside you,mmm so i will join you”she replied coquettishly.Becky don’t talk like this,Becky don’t act like this so stop it! I yelled inside my head but smiled out side.

“No don’t worry,i have my secretary with me”i said deep down I really wanted to say Becky was my secretary.I don’t want to waste time looking at her disappointment face,so i gave her a kiss on the head and left.

When i reached the hotel,i rush up stairs but calm down when i opened the door,the whole room was silent and every one was looking at me,they all had different expression on their face but that Becky was indifferent as always.

“Am sorry for my lateness,I had to put some things in order”i said not actually apologizing,i I sat next to the woman who just kept a poker face.

“Ah this your secretary is very beautiful,would you mind if i have her for some time?”mr Gerald said sipping his wine,honestly i didn’t know how i feel at that moment but one thing was certain,i would have punched him in the face if not for the fact that Becky was holding my under the table,i turned to look at her she just smiled widely,but her eyes were cold and vicious.

“Ah that won’t be possible,and don’t ever say a thing like that in from of my wife,she is my wife”i replied as cold as ice,the whole room was silent as non was able to recover from the shocking news,i was shocked too,because if was the first time i admitted it to my heart,and the first time i spoke from my heart as her being my wife.

“Sorry mr Gabriel,it was just a joke”mr Gerald apologized.

“I will forgive you if it was a mistake,you can’t put jokes on my wife”I said calmly but each word were chilled as ice.

“Am sorry”he apologized not with his head downwards.

“Ah Becky,it’s you”mr Noel said getting up from his chair to have a hand shake with her,her face had no emotions,what a woman i married.

“Oh mr Noel,seems like it’s a pleasure seeing me from your side”she greeted sarcastically,i had to drink some water to stop my upcoming laughter.Really Becky? from your side?,how sarcastic you’re,i complicated within me.

“Off course it is a pleasure meeting you,so mr Gabriel is your husband that you’re taking about?”mr Noel asked looking at me with some trace of jealousy in his eyes,why would he be jealous,mr Noel his married to one of the top models in A city and he still has many girlfriends and that too mistress,almost all the men presents here has a mistress,I don’t want to include myself,as my situation was different.

“Yes he is,remembered I told you that you will get to meet him one day,today is the big day for you sir”she replied calmly.

“Yes it is”mr Noel said going back to his seat.

“Am not feeling too good Samson here will drink that of me and my wife”I told them dryly,i don’t feel like drinking,as the look on their faces were not welcoming.

After the party i took Becky and left,we didn’t say anything to each other,today i got to know that she is very intelligent and has a smart mouth,she speaks sarcastically too,even when she didn’t know anything about business she still contributed to the words will discuss earlier,her ideas were unimaginably great,she speaks with great aura,i most say she is something else,there is more to her,than this annoying version of hers.

“Sorry I couldn’t make it to dinner with you”i apologized as we reached the house.

“I hope you didn’t wait for me?”I asked

“Do you think i would wait in the first place?,and don’t hope on anything from me”she replied coldly and went inside Leaving me standing speechless like a fool,I watched her go inside.

“Becky,Becky...What was that for”I asked pissed with attitude,can’t she just let the sleeping dog lie.

“What”she asked give those innocent look of hers.

“Really now you’re going to play dumb?”i asked.

“You know what,it’s late we can have ‘this’ another day”she said climbing the stairs,if not for the fact that i was weak and exhausted,i would have gave gotten to the bottom this attitude.

The next morning i got ready,thinking that she would not want to accompany me today due to last night argument,i decided to leave the house on time.

On reaching down stairs,i found her eating her breakfast,already dressed for work,I unconsciously sigh softly,at least she is still will to help me.

“Good morning”i greeted to get her attention,she turned slightly.

“Good morning.....there i already served your food”she said,i Can’t tell if she was concerned or just saying.

“Do you care or you’re just saying”i asked,cause i need to know if she cares or not.

“No,I don’t”she answered honestly,i felt my heart aching with she honest reply.

“Then don’t serve me any dish if you don’t care about me”i said holding back my anger and walks towards the out door,i saw she reflection through the glass door following me casually like nothing just happened,seriously Becky are you this heartless not to care about the person you’re living with.

We reached the office,and i instructed her on what to do and entered my office,when i looked at the glass window I found out that she dropped the curtain from her side,great!..why do i fill disappointed and heart broken?,God!she’s making this difficult for me than i excepted.

Becky’s POV

What different would it makes if i care?,besides there’s nothing about me that you care about.

“Can you even imagine that he starts talking to me like one of his staffs”i told Andy.

“Wow Becky,at least don’t do anything to make him more irritated than he is right now”she advise.

“Really,irritated,i should be the one who should be irritated not him”i snapped,i also told her of what happened at the wine party yesterday and guess what she could say?

‘Wow Becky,you two are trying in your relationship now,am so happy for you...besides it a good thing you start working for him,this can draw the two of you together....’blah blah blah.

Honestly when he call me his wife yesterday,i stiffened on the my chair,my cheeks turned red,hot red!,if not for the red light that was in the room,my flushed face would have been exposed.

‘Ring’

It’s the company’s intercom,i picked the call and it was Gabriel.

“Get me coffee and a sandwich”he said and the line went dead.I just looked at the telephone and the glass window,though i can’t see him but i imagined him reading some bullshit files.

Before going to get his request i branched Annie’s office for some questions that i need answers to.

“Annie dear,sorry for disturbing you at this time,but i need to ask you something”i said calmly.

“Sure anything”she replied.

“Uhh does your boss have anyone who gets him his coffees and food anytime he wants?” i asked.

“Yes he does,het name is Ester and she is working at the HR department,anything else”she asked

“No nothing just wanted to know”i replied as calm as possible,i could see the concern look on her face but i just ignore her and left for the coffee and sandwich.

I opened the door after knocking,just like yesterday he stood in front of the high window looking down at the busy road.

“Here”i said getting his attention,his expression was cold,but i don’t care,i will say whatever i to say right now.

“Ok.....get me my documents and inform me when the next meeting is at hand”he replied sitting down taking the coffee.

“Gabriel,first i would want you to stop giving me orders like one your staffs cause am not,and i heard you have someone who gets you anything when you’re hungry why did you decided to ask me to do it?”I asked coldly,he just gave me a chilling look,but i didn’t get intimidated with.

“Do you want us to have this discussion,cause if you ask me it’s a yes”he replied taking a bite from the sandwich.

“Ok then let’s get it done”I replied,since his office was soundproof i have no problem with us shouting.

“Ok then,what is wrong with you getting me my breakfast?”he asked.

“Nothing,don’t just give me orders,say it and i will do just that”I replied.

“Ok are you done?”he asked dryly.

“And one more thing,about the discussion that i wanted to tell you that night....”

“Just don’t bring it up now,i don’t want to listen,can you leave now...please”he yelled interrupting me.

“Really,you don’t want to listen,but just give orders,FYI this is only going to happen for this week,and once this week is gone,i will say what ever I want to say.And I will stop coming here as I have other things to put together”i yelled back and was about to leave when a sudden hand held my wrist.

“I can accept any nonsense from you,but don’t ever rise your voice at me do you understand?”he asked,his voice was filled with anger and rage.

“Let go of my hand”i said coldly looking straight into his eyes,there was nothing but the same anger as mine.

“All else what uh?”He sneered tightening the grip,i winced in pain,I tried to free myself from him but it just got worse,left with no option than to raise my hand at him but he caught it in time before it land and his face.

“What were you trying to do?”he asked,his voice was now deadly.

“Let go of my me”I said ignoring his question,now he has my two hands pined to my back,i just meters away from his chest,my heart beat increase,

“I don’t know what your problem is,but since it has gotten to a stage where you starts raising your flirty hand at me,it’s better you leave from here,I needed help but not anymore Just go”with this words he let go of my hand,i was relief from the grip but my heart was aching,i felt hurt with his words,things are getting out of hand for me,i Can’t control my anger,the words i spit out are deadly my attitude is changing rapidly,I can’t hold myself back from not doing things that would hurt anyone,it just strange and unusual of me.

“I said...”

“Am sorry sir miss summer is here,should i let her in?”Annie asked interrupting him.

“Don’t you know how to knock?”he barked at her.

“Am sorry sir,but i have been knocking but i didn’t get any response....,”

“Good morning dear”summer said entering the office stopping Annie from saying further,Annie was eyes were on summer and her boss.

“Sir am sorry....”

“Just get out”he shouted making Annie to run out of the office,I don’t need a soothsayer to tell me to leave,i took a quick look at summer who was wearing an expensive designer dress,she gave me a disdain look and hissed loudly,Gabriel just looked away as if he didn’t see anything,great what was I expecting from him?.I walked out of the office in high head,i hand over the fils of today to Annie and instruct her on what to do.

“Sorry I won’t be staying for lunch,but when ever you’re free just give me a call”i said winking at her.

“I hope it’s not because of miss summer...”

“Not at all,I have some business on my own that i need to take care of for now,have a nice day and remember to knock”i replied cutting het short.

I left the Building and head straight to my parents house,my mom was at home so i need some time with her to clear my head.

“Welcome dear,how are you doing?”my mom asked as i sat on the couch.

“How am i suppose to do?great right?”I asked her taking off my heels,stood up and went to my room,the room where i enjoyed my life and lived to the fullest,the room that i returned to each time I am back from my journey of life and achievement,the room i lay down to dream more hopes is now the room that i go to with tears,agony and frustration,the room that heard my tears from the last five months,i brought out some photos of me and Andy,during our childhood days and memories,when things was within my reach,when i was unstoppable and unlimited from anything that i want.

Ever since that call of my wedding,i Can’t remember the last time i laughed without holding any grudges or pain,my smiles are now that of bitterness and anger,my sweet words are now horns to others and even me,my delicate attitude is now that of a bipolar,everything just changed with no time,non of the old me is left to look up to,this is a new me that I don’t even know.
