TWO WEEKS AGO. We were helping Colette home from hospital the day after the Goddess festival, only just getting her into the house, when our mother came down the stairs looking furious. ''GET THE DOG OUT OF MY HOUSE!'' We looked up at her in confusion, as my father started to come down the stairs too, and he was holding Siri's phone. ''What are you talking about?'' Kai asked, ''She needs to rest.'' ''RESTING IS THE LAST OF HER ISSUES!'' Mom walked about and slapped Colette hard in her face, and causing her to fall back against my chest. ''MOM!'' I shouted, but she slapped me too. ''What is going on?'' Kai asked, but our mother turned and slapped him too. ''I JUST SPENT THE ENTIRE NIGHT IGNORING SIRI BECAUSE OF COLTEE'S LIES!''
