I walked into the pack house alone, my dress wrinkled from the long walk back, and the edges of my sandals scraped from the uneven roads.
The quiet stillness inside the house felt almost suffocating. The familiar hum of pack members bustling around the house had long since faded into silence.
It was late, and yet the weight of tonight's events hung over my head like a looming storm.
