The air in the broadcasting station was thick with tension. I had just arrived to handle my usual segment when Beta Mark’s urgent mind-link surged into my thoughts.
The weight of his words mirrored the intensity in his voice, but I kept my face carefully neutral.
“Aria,” his tone buzzed through the pack bonds, impatience evident. “Lord Blackthorn has specifically requested you for the territory negotiation interview. Immediately.”
I didn’t flinch, even as my wolf stirred at the mention of the Alpha heir. Memories of the training grounds—and the night at his hunting grounds—threatened to pull my composure apart, but I held firm.
“No,” I replied simply. My words were calm but absolute. “Sarah’s already claimed the interview.”
