*EPISODE 15: The Cold Shoulder* Alexander didn't talk to me for 3 days after the kiss. He was cold again, colder than before. He sent work through his secretary. I thought I did something wrong. I cried in the toilet. Then on Thursday night, I was about to leave, his secretary said "Boss says you should come to his office." I entered, he locked the door. "Do you know how hard it is to work when the girl you kissed is 10 meters away from you?" he said. "I couldn't focus, Amara." He pinned me to the wall, not aggressive, but desperate. "Tell me to stop, and I will." *EPISODE 16: The Office Party* The end-of-year party. Everyone drunk. Sophia, his ex, came. She wore red. She saw me in my cheap dress from Yaba market and laughed. "Still wearing okirika?" she said. I wanted to die. Alexander came from nowhere, removed his $2,000 jacket and put it on my shoulder. "She looks more beautiful than anyone here," he said loud. Sophia's face changed. "Alex, you can't be serious." "I am," he said, and held my hand. The whole office gasped. The next day, everyone called me "Mrs. Cold" behind my back. *EPISODE 17: My Mother's Sickness* My mother collapsed. Hospital bill: ₦800k. I don't have it. I sat in his office crying. "My mother will die, sir." He didn't ask. He just picked his phone. "Dr. Emeka? Prepare VIP ward. My staff's mother is coming." In 30 minutes, ambulance was at my house in Mushin. He paid everything. ₦800k like ₦800. "Why?" I asked him in the hospital. "Because when you cry, I can't breathe, Amara. Is that not reason enough?" That night, I slept in his arms in the hospital waiting room. *EPISODE 18: The First Night* My mother was better. He drove me home. Rain again. No flat tire this time. But he parked and didn't unlock the door. "Amara, I want to be clear. I am not a good man. I have hurt people in business. But I have never felt like this." I looked at him, this billionaire who could have any girl in Lagos, wanting me, a girl from Mushin. "I don't care if you are good," I said. "I care if you are mine." He kissed me. This time deeper. His hands in my hair. We didn't go all the way. But we stayed in that car for 2 hours, kissing, talking, laughing. I had never laughed like that. *EPISODE 19: Sophia's Revenge* Sophia sent a nude picture to the company group chat, saying it was me. It wasn't. It was photoshopped. The office went crazy. I ran to the bathroom, vomiting. Alexander called IT, traced the number in 10 minutes. It was Sophia. He called a board meeting. "Sophia Okoro is banned from this building for life. Anyone who shares that picture will be fired and sued." Then he came to the bathroom, knocked. "Amara, my love, come out. I know it's not you. I know your body. I have dreamed of it." I opened the door, hugged him. "Thank you for believing me." *EPISODE 20: The Contract* "Be mine," he said one night in his office, with Lagos lights behind him. "Not my staff. My girlfriend. Real contract. I will pay you with my heart, not money." He brought out a small box. Not ring. A key. "Key to my house in Ikoyi. Move in with me." I was scared. Moving in with my boss? My mother will kill me. "Amara, I am 32. I have never asked a woman to live with me. You are first." I took the key. My hands shaking. "Yes." He carried me, spinning. The cold billionaire boss was smiling, laughing like a boy. *EPISODE 21: The Truth About His Coldness* We moved in. First night, I saw him have a nightmare, shouting "Mum, don't go!" He woke up sweating. He told me everything. His mother left when he was 10 because his father was also cold. He became cold to never be left again. "You are warm, Amara. You are making me warm again. Don't leave me." I kissed his tears. "I will never leave, Alexander. You are not cold. You were just frozen. And I am here to melt you."
