JANE
I was sure that I had to be dead. In fact, I prayed that I was, as I was sure that I would stab myself with the first thing that I saw if I happened to open my eyes to see that I was in my pack.
Slowly, I opened my eyes as if I was trying to unwrap a gift package. I was in awe. As soon as I opened my eyes, I recognized that I didn't recognize we had woken up. It was really beginning to give me an awful lot of concern as I wondered what exactly had happened.
Why did the most important things seem to happen when I was unconscious?
At the same time, I was about to sit up, the door opened, and I was looking at a friendly face for the first time in a while. But then I recalled what had happened to me the last time I felt someone was friendly.
I observed her carefully, making sure that I didn't let my god down even for a single second. She was looking pretty harmless, but I just couldn't conclude yet.
“You are already up…” she seemed to be amazed by the fact that I was already awake.
“How long was I out?” I asked as I slowly tried to push myself out of bed even though I was feeling really weak. It's almost like I had some weights attached to my body, and they made me quite sluggish.
“You've been unconscious for three days, and you are just waking up. I thought you would be dead from everything that happened.” She was sounding quite amazed, showing me just how serious the whole thing had been. “I am Jessica, the head of the maids. I need to get you in a working condition as soon as possible so I don't get in trouble as well.”
“Oh… alright then…” I had already come to terms with the fact that I was going to be working until my very last breath as I turned out to be in the pack all the same.
I wanted to ask who had saved me, but that would seem a bit rude and ungrateful of me. The normal expectation for me was to be grateful for even breathing at that point.
“I'll have some of the maids get you some food so you don't pass out. We have some special guests in the alpha's mansion and I need all hands to be on deck. Not to worry, you will not be working at the omega's farmland again.”
That made me a bit relieved even though I would have to keep on facing the pain of having one's being among the elites for you to be cast all the way down to being a maid. But I couldn't complain at all.
As we were speaking, one of the maids came in with a tray for me. I couldn't help but be traumatized by the memory of someone bringing me a tray because the last time it happened I went unconscious and got deflowered in the most painful way.
And there was no time to heal from the trauma, neither was there any time to recuperate from everything that had happened. I was quickly fed and given a new set of clothes to begin my work. There was still some pain in some parts of my body, but I was sure that I would be all right.
“You can go prepare the bath water for the guests. They are close…” Jessica ordered, leaving me with a burning curiosity about whom the guests were.
I couldn't ask any questions as I began making my way to the room where the huge bathtub was kept for visitors. Having been the beta’s daughter, she was a bit familiar with almost everywhere in the alpha's mansion.
As I walked, I couldn't help but notice the looks of disdain that I kept on getting from the other maids. It's like I was owing them some debt that I wasn't aware of. Somehow, I was able to ignore all of it as I made my way straight for the bathtub.
All right, when I had to go in there, I remembered that I hadn't asked what temperature the water was meant to be. But judging from the cold weather, I was sure that the visitors wouldn't mind having something to heat them up a bit. I went ahead to make the water a bit hot and put the lather to make it bubble.
I was satisfied by the sight of it, and I was soon heading out of there to continue with whatever I was ordered to do. As I got out, the hopeless was already buzzing and that meant the visitors had probably arrived.
Yet again, I noticed a lot of maids looking at me with so much anger, like I had committed some crime. I had thought of waking up to them to ask them what was wrong, but I decided against that as I just didn't want to get into more trouble than necessary.
“Have you done it?” Jessica asked as she was sounding official and formal.
“Yeah…” I said with a nod while expecting to hear what the next orders would be.
“Go help them out in the kitchen…” she said as she walked away. “The visitors will soon be served, so hurry up…”
“Right…” I had barely worked away when I heard the sound of a man grunting out loud.
“What the heck?” The sound of his voice echoed all through the corridors, causing everyone to tremble. It was clear that it was the visitor and the shout happened to come from the room where the bathtub was.
I was beginning to travel even more as I feared that I could have done something wrong without even knowing it.
“What did you do? Jessica asked as we both kept running down to the room to see what had happened.
The guards were already there, and they stopped us from going in. But I was able to see a glimpse of the three men who looked alike in every single aspect. I had no idea that the visitors were the triplet Alphas.
My heart skipped a couple of beats as I saw her rashes that were on their bodies, and it appeared to be from the bath water.
“Who the heck mixed this bath water? One of the guards asked angrily and all the maids pointed at me.
“But I didn't… all I did was to…” I couldn't see a single word as I was totally dumbfounded.
Jessica looked at me with disappointment as the gods pushed me into the room where I was standing before the three men.
Suddenly, the angry looks they had on their faces slowly dissipated as they stared at me with curiosity before they all let out in one accord, the word which nearly made me melt, “Mate…!”
