"When are you coming in?" I ask without even saying good morning first. She yawns loudly. "In a while." "Well, hurry. We need to talk," I snap and hang up. If it weren't for her damn folder, I would've woken up in Mark's arms this morning. And I wouldn't have that escort's dead face swimming before my eyes each time I closed them.
