For 306 years, Sentinel had done its job, gone above and beyond to keep the Packs in check and the human safe from the wolves. It wasn’t like the humans hadn’t tried to make peace with the Packs, during the two world wars for example, the wolves had been approached on more than one occasion and requested them to join the armed forces to fight for King and country. Some Packs and individual wolves chose to fight with the humans but most did not. Not one of the Reiver clans chose to join up as it was pointed out in a meeting of all the Clans, wolves were not welcome in human society until they needed warriors, they didn’t want to live with wolves but they expected the wolves to die
