Today is Christmas and we got nothing else to do but just chill in our home. If one of us gets hungry, we can get something from the fridge where we put our leftovers from last night's dinner. This is how we celebrate Christmas. We treat it as a day of peace and tranquility even if it means staying inside our rooms. We had our time as a family. Now, it's for us to decide. It's 9 in the morning that Eli and I are here on the bed looking at our phones. She shares with me the funny videos she's watching and we laugh at them. Meanwhile, I play my game. She's laughing so hard that I couldn't hear the sweet music from my game but it's okay. Her laughter is precious. “So, when are we gonna ask her?” I ask and referring to Sophia. “Later when she comes down to have lunch, I guess.” “Okay.” “Also, can you please get some food?” “I'll be right back.” Pausing my game, I sit up and get off the bed. I went to the kitchen to put grapes, an apple, and a peach in a bowl. She's on a diet so... yeah, all she can eat here are fruits. The foods we cooked are the kind of foods that make you fat faster. But it's okay for me if she becomes fat though. I bet she's gonna get even cuter. Returning to the room, I close the door and say, “Here it is.” I put it on the bed beside her as she lies down. Then I have this idea of feeding her while she's busy with her phone. I think it will be romantic. “Say ‘ah’.” “Ahh...,” she says opening her mouth. I feed her with a single grape. She's chewing it without breaking her stare at the screen of her phone. After a minute of feeding her, I decide to lie beside her. I like to stick my cheek against her soft hair because it smells wonderful and feels great. She holds the phone for us and we laugh at the videos while I feed her. I sometimes give myself a bite. “By the way,” I speak. “how're your businesses going? You haven't been busy lately.” “They're doing fine. My managers are doing their jobs. All I have to do is check on them from time to time, see if there's any problem.” “How about the cafe?” “It's doing fine, I guess. Also, Luke was able to hire another gentleman.” “So, does that mean I'm fired?” “Nope, you're a part-time employee. I'll deploy you when needed. Besides, you have a full-time job with me, as my boyfriend.” She smiles looking at my eyes this close. “I love my job,” I smile. She giggles before going silent and looks at my lips. Closing our eyes, we kiss for a few seconds. Then, we continue watching the funny videos while she lets me stick my nose behind her ear. *Sigh* I love her so much—kinda ironic because I tried to hate her because she was annoying. Maybe I was just denying that I like that part of her. Now that there is no boundary between us, I can say, I love that part of her. Time for lunch comes and we sit here at the table, desperately waiting for Sophia to come down to grab something to eat. At last, she comes down from the staircase. When she opens the fridge, Eli calls, “Sophia.” She got my sister's unenthusiastic attention. “Do you have time for today?” To the side, Sophia looks, clearly showing she knows where Eli is going with this and that she has no interest. “Not really...,” she answers. “I plan to buy you new clothes as my Christmas gift for you.” Eli tries her best to smile as she approaches her. I just stay put here at the table. “Let's go shopping.” Sophia doesn't look at her and hesitates as she says, “I guess I could... spare some time.” “Let's go!” “I still have to take a bath and change,” she says, climbing up the stairs, hesitating. “Oh, right... me too.” We prepared for the day and I finished first so I waited in the living room for both of them. I don't care to look so fancy because I don't have fancy clothes to begin with. As usual, I wear a t-shirt and jeans. They both come down the stairs dressed up gorgeously. It's rainy today so both of them wear jackets. Sophia wears fashionable boots, a dark blue skirt, and a pink jacket. Eli is wearing rugged shorts, white sneakers, a white sleeveless shirt inside, and a denim jacket. Now, I'm worried about how I look. Right away, we set out and I couldn't help but be wary as we commute. I know how attractive my girlfriend and my sister are, so I must protect them if someone dares to lay their eyes on them. I can't help but be paranoid with the people we pass by on the sidewalk. “What's up with you?” Eli asks. “Nothing just keep walking, I'll be behind both of you.” I think it's a good place so I can block the gazes of men from behind even if it means getting wet under the rain. Both of them are under the same umbrella and I just use the hood of my jacket. This is the first time I heard my sister talking casually. Once we're inside the mall, I shiver. The air is so cold! F*ck! “Are you okay?” Eli asks. “Just a little cold,” I answer. “but I'm fine. You two go on.” Sophia just looks at me with nothing to say until both of them face forward, walking. They went straight into an apparel shop for teen girls. I just wait at the seat near the dressing room and just let them do what they want. I still need to grind for my game. “Kev, what are you doing here?” Eli asks, frowning. She has a lot of clothes in her hand as well as Sophia—who looks like she enjoys it but does not fully show. “Waiting for both of you,” I answer. “Hold these for us. We'll be back.” Not waiting for my answer, she puts them on my lap. Sophia did the same. “This is a lot,” I remark. “It's not enough,” says Eli, turning and holding my sister's arm as they return to look for more clothes to try. It took forever until they return for some more clothes! They decide to try them all, dressing up in the same dressing room. I'm concerned because of Eli... She might take advantage of my sister. But anyway... It's not a big deal. It's a different story if Eli is a boy. Besides, she's more like a girl now. They tried many combinations of clothes and ask me to be the judge. I just say they're gorgeous, it looks good on them, and other unrepeating compliments. But they don't listen to me and just try all of what they picked. They only listen to each other's opinions. I'm questioning the reason for my presence here. Am I just gonna be the one to carry their things? It made me tired. It took like an hour until they decided on what to buy and what to return. Out of those they tried, only five have been bought. Talk about a great waste of time! “Onto the next shop!” Eli declares as they lock arms with each other. Another hell of waiting... They did the same as they did at the first shop we went into. I'm about to lose patience because I couldn't play my game while I follow them around to carry their clothes. When we came out, I now have so many bags in each of my hands. It's just gonna add up even more when they moved on to the next apparel shop. Oh, my God! They went on a shopping spree, going in and out of every shop in the mall! and I'm worried that Eli is spending too much. Even my sister is looking worried. “Eli,” I catch up to them, struggling to carry these bags. I look ridiculous. “When will you girls be done?” “Hmm...,” she thinks. “I don't know. These are still not enough.” Then Sophia speaks out her mind, “I think the clothes you bought for me are already enough, big-sis Eli.” “It's still not enough, my dear Sophia.” Ugh... just listen to her! She stops in front of a large picture of a Japanese dog looking like Sora. “I miss my boy,” she says. She left Sora to a dog daycare before we left because there will be no one to look after him if we leave. “You have a dog?” asks Sophia. “Yeah, I have two dogs. The other one is your brother.” “Hey!” I yell. “I heard that!” She laughs with my sister as they continue walking. She's corrupting my sister's mind! The nightmare was over when dusk arrived. We rest in the food court and I am worried that I might have dropped a bag or two. There's too much in my hand! I can't even eat! I had to hold them because there are people are passing by. How am I gonna- Oh, Eli's gonna feed me, okay? All is well. She feeds me shawarma and Sophia takes a picture of us. “Hey,” I tell her while my mouth is full. “don't take pictures.” “Why?” she asks, smiling and continuing to snap photos. “Both of you look good together.” “Right?” Eli agrees. “Please send me the pictures later, sweetie.” “I will,” she smiles. Wow... my sister is really enjoying this. Eli is so good. She's getting along with my family very well. It kinda makes me feel that she's very valuable now because even my family is supporting our relationship. It must be infatuation that I feel like I want to marry her. Wait... no, no, no. It's too soon to think about that. Our relationship just started just days ago. When we finally returned home, I go straight to bed after putting their bags in the living room. They sort what they own while I play my game right away, not caring to remove my socks. Mom is thrilled when she discovered that Eli bought her clothes too. I can hear her from here. A few minutes later, Eli comes in with her bags. “How are you, babe?” she asks. “Wasted. You guys almost killed me.” “Poor baby...,” she says, sarcastically sounding. “Don't ‘poor baby’ me.” She sits on the bed right next to me as I lie. “What about I give you a massage, this time?”
