Chapter 2 : Sierra's birthday

Angelina's POV -

We had hired the basketball court in our school for an hour, to celebrate Sierra's birthday on our own style. It was easy for me because my mum is the director of our school and our principal, Maria, is our beta female. Not just that. My mum is very much fond of Sierra that she allowed us right away. In fact, she is also hosting a lunch at our pack house for all our friends, to celebrate Sierra's birthday. They got along so well and fast, that I doubt if I am still her favourite child..

We decorated the whole seating area with all sorts of sparkling things and hung memorable pics of us, of our hanging outs, Sunday baths, movie nights, etc. throughout the ground. It's indoor, so we don't have to worry about the cold weather outside. At the very center, we set a Cinderella themed rainbow cake, hidden on the table, with glass slippers on the top. Sierra is truly a dreamy girl and the image of Cinderella perfectly fits her.

While Cathy and Evie went for a final round of touch up on the decorations, I rode down to fetch Sierra for the day in my MINI. My wine red colour baby was a surprise gift from Nathan on my 17th birthday last year. Even though I was not allowed to drive it outside of pack territory, but was allowed to take it to school, and also can ride around farther sides of Cold Moon pack borders.

I parked at the entrance of their main mansion, and let her knew I have arrived. After a short while, there comes my sweet b'day girl, looking as cute as a princess.. We rode to the basketball field and I was amused by her confused look on the deviation of our path. I parked at the lot and ran towards the ground, she following my lead and as I opened the huge main door, we screamed together... 'Happy Birthday Sierraaaa!!'

She was smiling ear to ear with surprise and a tear was brimming to fall from her eyes. She hugged all of us and thanked for all that we did for her. We couldn't skip our classes today and that was my mom's one condition on allowing us to rent the field. Hence, we had to wrap up our party in a hurry and head for our classes as soon as we were done.

The day went by fast. We had lunch at our packhouse that my mom arranged and everyone headed their own ways to get ready for the night party. Me, Evie and Sierra thought to just relax in my room for a short while. We were chatting on some usual girl's topics when Sierra suddenly freezed in her seat. Evie and I looked at her wondering what was happening and then we realised that her eyes were clouded.. Yes!! She's talking to her wolf!

My mom had told me we will get our wolves exactly on the time of our birth, on our 18th birthday.. Maybe this was the exact time she was born considering her wolf has emerged now. We waited eagerly and once she was back to normal, we bombarded her with tons of questions..

'Hey, how was it?', Evie asked

'What's her name', I was more than excited.

'What does she say', our curiosity doesn't stop!

'Wooh woh woh... easy there gals.. let me speak', Sierra said in her usual calm self with slight chuckle.

'It's strange actually', she continued, 'uhh, I mean, when we really hear someone talking in our mind.. I was actually expecting it because mom had already told me she will emerge around this noon, but I was a bit surprised, yes..', Her smile widens.

'She said her name is Naala and that she is an ancient wolf', our jaw almost dropped. We haven't heard such a thing ever before.

'She was a close acquaintance of, Her Highness, the Lycan Princess and she was murdered in a war where the Royal family was ambushed and disappeared from the world.'

Evie and I was not even blinking while Sierra speaks what her wolf told. Yes, we had heard the history of how Lycan royals were wiped out, but they all seem long forgotten, as it was centuries ago.. No one had heard anything of them and the history known was very less considering there were not much survivers left. And now, Sierra's wolf is reincarnation of an acquaintance of the Royal Lycan family was nearly unbelievable.

'She said she will explain everything to me in near future and after my first shift', Sierra said calmly. I wonder how she let it off without asking more from her wolf.. If I were in her place, I would have gotten the whole history from her by this minute.

'Okay..' Evie clapped her hands to make us come into our senses before continuing.

'Anyways we have plenty of time to talk about it. Now let's go and get ready or else we won't make it on time.' Evie hurried and got up to leave for her home, followed by Sierra. I waved them goodbye and layed on my bed for a few more minutes thinking about the things Sierra's wolf had said.

I was already so interested in Lycans, since my middle school days, that I have done a small research on their histories while at my college. They were this wonderful creatures in our beast world that, from what I heard, even had extraordinary powers, depending on their ranks and hierarchy. History says, some Royal Lycans had the power of mind reading and future vision of people when focused on them, if they are in close vicinity. They can also walk on their hind legs on beast form as well, like they do in human form.

Lots of thoughts were pouring in my mind, I quickly knocked it off and went for a quick shower to get dressed. I chose to wear a flowy lavender lace gown that stops just above my knee in the front and flares back to the ground in the back. It's elegant and fashion enough for the night and I can do some moves in the DJ afterwards as well.

I got down to the front lobby as soon as I got a mind link from my mom. We were about to get into our SUV when someone drove towards us. I jumped in excitement as Nathan's car pulled in to the lot. Mom had a big smile on her face and dad too was grinning ear-to-ear seeing him.

"Natty.. My baby!! You made it here. I thought you are not coming", Mom had almost teared up.

"Mom.. How can I ignore my sweet mom's this little wish? Also, it would be rather good I'm here than to take my Luna's swearing for not showing up", Mom rolled her eyes on him and he hugged her laughing.

"Nathan.. you know Cold Moon is our closest acquaintance and they are like family. They personally invited us and we can't go without our future Alpha, ofcourse", Mom said hugging him back.

Dad also gave him a side hug and I jumped on him after everyone. Ohh God.. I missed him sooo much.

"You said your friend is coming too right?", Dad asked.

"No dad.. Julian wasn't ready to come yet. He is sort of, a self-contained guy. Not happy to mingle with lots of people. But he promised to come the next time". Dad nodded to it.

Haa... Julian! Nathan's dearest friend from his University, the hell of a Hunk guy! He's soo handsome and well-built with those mesmerizing droopy eyes.. I immediately fell in love with them, the first time I saw his pic from Nathan's phone. He has never come over in person to our packhouse. But, they are so close and is each other's roomie. I really wanna catch a glimpse of him and see if all his pic would come to reality, since, all of it feels like a f***g Greek God!

I was long lost in his thoughts when Dad waved us to get in and we all hurried into our SUV. As soon as we arrived at the Cold Moon packhouse, Alpha Simon and Luna Jenna welcomed us inside.

I can see Nathan is being a little nervous and he seemed a bit restless too. He had never been to Cold Moon in the past since he was always away for his studies after they moved to us. Even he had met Alpha Simon only at our packhouse during the meetings held by my father. He is seldom home and if he does, prefers to stay inside and spend the little time he got with us. Maybe that's why he's not much comfortable getting here. Mom too noticed his uneasiness.

"Nathan sweetie.. what happened? You don't feel good coming here?", she asked.

"No Mom, it's not that. It's my wolf. He's a bit restless and pacing around, giving me a headache." Nathan said rubbing his temple.

"It's okay dear, once the cake cutting is over, you can go back to the packhouse. I'll let the omegas deliver your dinner to your room, so you can rest." Mom still pampers him a lot.

He nodded. We were seated in the front of hall, where the huge multi-tiered cake was set. After everyone got settled, lights went off and only candles were seen lit on the cake and either sides of the hall. After a short while, Sierra came walking gently like an angel in an A-line fitted white flowy gown that was sparkling in the candle light. But, as soon as she entered the hall, she looked around frantically like looking for someone. She walked right to where we were sitting and when she saw Nathan, they both froze. Nathan was already standing from his seat with eyes wide, astonished.

When their eyes met, she gasped and I heard Nathan say,
