♡ Chapter 2 ♡

1006 Words
I decided to wear my beige colored flats my next day at work, because those heels yesterday made my poor feet hurt all night whilst I was sleeping. I was sitting at my desk, updating my paperwork when I hear someone whisper my name. “Hey Alicia.” I hear a guy whisper. This made me swirl my chair around and look at my not so secret admirer, who happens to be my coworker. Well, that wasn't creepy. But he's pretty damn cute. “Hey Chris, how’s it going?” I asked him. “It’s going, I had a late-night workout last night.” He chuckles. I hate standing next to him, because even in his dark red cotton long-sleeved t-shirt, I can tell that he goes to gym. I’m sure that he has a four or six pack of abs too under that damn sweater, while I have stretch marks on my arms and some on my ass. “Oh, that’s awesome.” I tell him. Trying not to sound sarcastic. “You should come join me next time I go.” He tells me whilst giving me a smile. “Yeah, sure, you have my number, I don’t have a life anyways, so just hit me up whenever.” I inform him with a sigh. “Okay, sounds good to me.” He says with a grin and then leaves me alone. “Ooh, finally going to go on a date?” My coworker, Lily asks me. Of course, she overheard everything, because we both share the same work cupboard, just I’m on the left side, and she’s on the right side. “Yeah, I guess so.” I tell her while not giving her a glance.  I usually like to focus more on work than socialize, she’s a nice lady, don’t get me wrong or anything, she is even my f******k friend. “Well, you should, it’s good for your soul.” She tells me as a matter of fact. “Okay Lily.” I say with a chuckle.   ~♡~♡~ I get inside my car and close the door. I threw my purse onto the passenger’s seat but kept my phone on my lap. Once I put my seatbelt on, I then turned on my engine. My phone starts to buzz once I plugged my phone in the aux cord. “Hey Chris.” I tell him whilst hitting the speaker button. “Hey, so when do you want to do this?” He asks me. “Um, Friday after work?” I asked him. To honest, I’m kind of nervous about this, because I haven’t been on any dates post Jordan. Well, we mostly “hanged out” I just think that calling it a date sounds better. “Okay sounds good, want me to pick you up?” He asks me. “Yeah sure.” I tell him with a sigh. “Okay, looking forward to it, I’ll pick you up at 6 pm.” He informs me. “Sounds good to me.” I say to him. “Alright, talk to you later.” He chuckles and then hangs up. I then pull away from the parking lot of my job and then start to drive to my apartment. I am just hoping that I don’t think about stupid college frat guy Jordan the whole time that I am with gym guy Christopher. Whilst I’m at the red light, I decide to look at some Snapchat stories. The first few stories I see are posted by friends that I made in college. And then I see Jordan’s snap story. But before I can click on it, I hear a honk from the car behind me. So, I went back to playing my apple music, and then locking my phone and putting it down on my passenger seat. Doing this all under a minute or two.   ~♡~♡~ Once I get inside my apartment, I close and lock the door from behind me then made my way into my bedroom and took off my work clothes until I was only wearing my matching bra and underwear. When I grabbed my pajamas, I then walked inside my bathroom and turned on the light, I look at my tired self in the mirror. “Oh girl, you look like shit.” I tell myself with a sigh. I then lock my bathroom door and turn on the shower, I took off my undergarments and stepped inside my shower. Whilst cleaning myself with my pink loofa, I then thought about Jordan’s snap story that I yet have not seen. Also, this leads me to thinking about how much pain Jordan made me go through. So, I start singing a song that I’m sure everyone sings when they’re down. “I will not make, the same mistakes that you did, I will not let myself cause my heart so much misery, I will not break, the way you did, you fell so hard, I’ve learned the hard way, to never let it get that far, because of you.” I started to sing whilst cleaning myself some more. I then hear a knock on my door before I could continue on with the song. “Hey Alicia, are you okay in there?” Kennedy asks me through the door. “I heard you start singing Because of you, so I just wanted to check up on you, see if you are alright.” She adds after asking her question. “Yeah, I’m fine, just the only song I know all the lyrics to.” I yell out. “Okay then, I’ll cook dinner.” Kennedy says and I then hear her leave.
