I could not stay away. My blood burned as I watched Serena through the window from the shadows behind the house. She was supposed to be mine. Not his.
I had planned every second. One phone call. A fake message about pack business. While Damien sat useless at the airport, I took his place. I walked into that bedroom and claimed his bride on their wedding night. She gave herself to me completely. Moaning. Shaking. Begging under my hands. That memory still made me hard.
Damien always got everything. The title. The respect. The perfect life as Alpha. They exiled me because I was the bad boy hockey captain who fought too hard on the ice and broke every rule off it. "Too wild," they said. "Not fit to lead." So they pushed me aside while Damien stood in the spotlight. But I stayed close. Close enough to watch Serena fall into his arms. Close enough to burn with hate every time she smiled at him. She deserved fire. She deserved someone who would tear the world apart for her. She deserved me.
I breathed in deep. Even from here, her scent reached me. Confusion. Guilt. And underneath it all, lingering desire for me. My mark was still on her skin. That thought brought a dark smile to my lips.
Through the window I saw her on the couch with Damien. She tried so hard to act normal. Fake smiles. Stiff shoulders. My little dove was struggling, and it only made me want her more.
Serena’s POV
I tried to focus on Damien as we sat on the couch. His hand rested on my knee, gentle and safe. But my wolf felt restless. The bond pulled wrong.
A quick flash hit me. I saw a future version of Ryker this same bad boy on his knees in our kitchen, making me breakfast with a soft smile, completely whipped and gentle for me. The image made my chest tight. I pushed it away and smiled at Damien.
Ryker’s POV
She stood up suddenly and headed toward the hallway. This was my chance.
I slipped through the back door and waited in the dim hallway. When she turned the corner, she froze. Her eyes went wide. "Ryker? What the hell are you doing here? Damien is right in the living room!"
I moved fast and pinned her against the wall. My body pressed hard into hers, trapping her. "I had to see you. I could not wait."
Her breath came fast. "Are you insane? He will hear us. Get out right now."
"No." I slid my hand down her side and gripped her waist tight. "I can smell how confused you are. You still want me. Even while you sit next to him."
She pushed at my chest, but her hands trembled. "Stop this. Last night was a mistake."
"Was it?" I leaned in and brushed my lips against her ear. "You called my name when I was deep inside you. You begged. Your body opened up like it knew the truth."
"Ryker, please," she whispered. Her cheeks flushed red. "Not here. Kai could walk in any second."
I kissed her neck, right on the mark I left last night. She gasped. My fingers slipped under her robe and stroked her bare thigh. The same thigh I gripped hard while taking her from behind. Her skin felt hot.
"You feel it too," I whispered. "The pull. It is not him. It is me. Say it. Say you belong to me."
"I cannot," she breathed. But her body leaned into me. Her hands grabbed my shirt instead of pushing away. "This is wrong. He is my husband."
I chuckled low. "Husband? I was the one who made you come last night. Not him." My hand moved higher, brushing the heat between her legs. She bit her lip to hold back a moan. "Your wolf knows who claimed you first."
Her breathing grew faster. Fear and desire mixed in her eyes. The risk made everything hotter. Damien sat only a few rooms away. One loud sound and everything could explode.
"Tell me you still feel me," I demanded quietly. My fingers pressed gently, teasing her. "Tell me you are still wet thinking about how I f****d you on your wedding night."
"Ryker... we will get caught," she moaned softly. "Please."
"Good," I growled. "Let him see who you really belong to."
I pressed my body harder against hers. My mouth hovered over hers, ready to take another kiss. Her body trembled against mine. She looked torn, guilty, and so turned on.
Just then, I heard Damien’s footsteps moving toward the hallway. He was coming closer.
