Chapter 6 – Back to School The campus buzzed with noise. Students hurried between classes, laughter and chatter filling the air. Adrian walked through the gates, dressed plainly, but with eyes sharper than any professor’s. The system guided him toward the engineering building. The lecture hall was packed, students crammed into every row. At the front, a balding professor scribbled halfhearted equations on the board. “…As you see, the efficiency rate for current processors caps around 42%—” “Incorrect,” Adrian interrupted, his voice steady but cold. Heads turned. The professor blinked, offended. “Excuse me?” Adrian rose slowly. “Your calculation ignores thermal decay compensation. With the right algorithm, efficiency can hit 73% with existing architecture. But of course…” His lips curved into a mocking smile. “…you wouldn’t know that.” A ripple of laughter and gasps swept through the hall. The professor’s face flushed. “And you are—?” Adrian slipped his Smart Lens on. A holographic projection spilled into the air—schematics, live data streams, simulations spinning like galaxies above his desk. Students gasped, pulling out their phones. “This is my design,” Adrian said, voice carrying like steel. “A processor twenty years ahead of anything your textbooks can imagine.” Silence fell. The professor stammered, grasping at words, but none came. And Adrian sat back down as though nothing had happened. The system’s voice purred in his mind: > [Mission Progress: 50% Complete.]
