"Aren't you going to come in?" I asked even though she still had her hand around me, helping me up.
"Yeah, yeah. Would you be able to make it to the bathroom yourself?"
I closed the door and she helped me to the bed. "Well, I would have to learn now, wouldn't I?"
"Haha, yeah I guess."
She sat on the bed and I could tell she was watching me as I fumbled my way to the bathroom. It wasn't easy and I had to use the walls and stuff for support. I still couldn't understand why it was so hard after all I have been walking almost all my life.
In the bathroom, I had to lean on the wall to stop from sliding down and I discovered by standing in a weird way I could keep myself up somehow. I think I did fairly well for someone who could barely control her limbs.
I stepped out a couple of minutes later to find Gracie exactly where I left her. Only then did I realize that instead of unpacking last night, I had binge-watched shows. I approached the bag that was just a few feet from the bed, one of the twins must have placed it there. I had seen it as soon as I stepped into the room but somehow I had forgotten about it during the course of the night.
I sat on the bed, towel wrapped around myself, and dragged the bag closer. There was no way I could stand and search the contents. My legs were bound to fail me. It was hard to pick the zipper for at least the first three trials.
My body refused to believe my eyes so even though I gripped the zipper, I would drop it instinctively and try again. Finally, I got the hang of it and pulled the zipper to the other side with too much force in annoyance. The zipper ripped out and I gasped loudly.
"Careful!" Gracie cried out.
I stared at the zipper I still held and flicked it away. I was slightly pissed, this was my favorite bag. "Thanks," I murmured to Gracie, unsure of what to say to her. "I guess I don't know my own strength." I chuckled as a joke.
"Yeah, you don't." She replied and I frowned but quickly returned my attention to picking out what I would wear.
It didn't take me long to find something suitable, I picked out a pair of blue shorts and a blacktop. I had not brought so many clothes with me and I didn't want to think of what would happen when I run out of the ones I have.
Wearing my outfit wasn't difficult but I had to ask Gracie to help me with the zipper for the shorts, she was glad too and in my opinion, she looked a little too happy.
For my feet, I wore my favorite tennis shoes. They were the only sneakers I had brought along. It was a little hard to tie the ropes but I didn't want to ask for help so I managed to stuff the rest of the ropes into the sides of my feet.
"I am ready," I announced and tried to get up from the bed. It was a wobbly attempt but I succeeded.
"Alright, let's go." Gracie quickly rushed to my side and supported me. I wasn't complaining, this was definitely better than her carrying me.
"Where are we going first?" I asked as soon as the door closed behind us.
"I have no idea!" She said it like it was the name of a place.
I laughed, "Well, I don't think it matters, just lead the way." She laughed and nodded her head before slowly walking away.
