Dale pushed him away and leaned closer to the water. His eyes burned from the heavy wind. All he could see were the grey torrents of fog. He stared hard at the place where Gregory pointed, but still, nothing. Gregory and Laurence were crazy. His brow crinkled… A small flutter of movement. Dale rubbed his eyes and leaned farther out. He staggered, unable to believe what he saw. Figures floated around them. They were human: men, women, even children... Their faces were blank, unseeing eyes staring straight into his soul. They almost didn’t look… real. Their bodies were two-dimensional. They glided around the boat like the ship had its own forcefield repelling them.
