Mama was looking straight into my eyes, obviously waiting for my answer and the answer she's waiting for is always the same. It should always be yes. It should always be in her favor or else, she won't recognize my reasons.
“You understand what I’m talking about, right?” Mama asked.
I didn't know what to say to her, and while I was troubled uttering an answer, we heard a car arrive. My heart raced, thinking it was Nik, but I was so relieved when it was papa who entered the house. However, as soon as I saw the expression on his face, I felt sadness enveloped my heart.
“Andrew, what happened?” Mama immediately noticed Papa's expression.
Papa sighed and saw me. “You're here…”
