Blakely’s POV
I couldn’t look into Alicia’s eyes now. I feel so embarrassed to borrow money from her and with that amount, I know it would seem like I was the one extorting money from her.
She sighed. “It’s okay. That would be no problem. I can lend you 1.5 million dollars.”
My lips parted in shock as I looked at her face. “What? That’s too much, Ali. I have a trust fund. I will use that and—”
“That’s your trust fund. Besides, I have another case. It’s a very important case and I’ll get paid more than 1.5 million dollars if I win this case.”
“What case?”
She sighed. “A car race murder. The family was rich and it just happened that my family knows them personally.”
I stared at her. “If they’re gonna pay you that much, then it means it’s a case that’s hard to win.”
