SAPPHIRE’S POV:
“Adam! Stop laughing!” I frowned for the thousandth time as I looked at my man laughing like a drunkard. After the next five minutes, he stopped his laughing marathon and sat on the bed beside me.
“Your wish my command, your highness!” Before I had time to react, Adam pulled his t-shirt off and threw it in the corner of the room. I chuckled at the way he did that and he smiled broadly at me. I shrieked and closed my eyes as I saw him taking off his sweatpants too.
“What are you doing?!” I laughed and heard his deep laugh as I felt him move away from me.
“Wait like that till I tell you!” He went off, somewhere into the bathroom and I heard the shower running. Curiosity killed the cat and I finally peeked through my fingers. The shower stopped and I finally saw Adam walk out the door exactly as I described. Handsome, edible and... Leave it.
Slowly I removed my hand from my face and looked at the godly scripted body. As mentioned his wet hair let the small drops of water fall on his shoulder and abs.
I blushed hard as I realised that I've been drooling over him like I expected and sat on the bed while resting my head on the headrest.
Adam’s laugh filled the silent atmosphere and he moved to take his clothes from the floor and wore them. Yup, right in front of me. I blushed even more on that and shook my head at his hopelessly romantic attitude and he jumped on the bed making bounce a little and I giggled at his foolish behaviour.
“Anything you say, birthday girl.” My smile vanished as I saw the time. It was 12:34. I was truly happy on my birthday. And no matter how hard I try to deny but Adam has made me happy on my last birthday too. When he barged into my office and made me leave the office with me on his shoulder and Abel throwing confetti all around us, even in the lift.
My employees almost cancelled the party they planned but thankfully, Adam knew about the party and got on with it.
Adam looked at me cautiously. His eyes were ticking with nervousness and fear as he saw my straight face. The pleading look on his face finally made me realise that why dad chose today for mine and Adam’s marriage.
To make sure I celebrate my birthday. Like an anniversary or a birthday, it will still be a celebration. And dad never wanted to make me miss out on my birthday.
Adam looked at me and I smiled before raising my brow, asking him what is it? He shook his head and moved my hair away from my face and sat right in front of me.
“Well, now do I get the reward for being romantic and silly like the male lead of the novel does?” His rough whisper made goosebumps rise all over my skin and I smirked.
“Of course you do.” I kissed his lips, not wasting a single second and his fingers went deep into my hair as he pulled me closer to him. It is always the same and yet it is always new.
Our lips moved in sync and soon I forgot everything around me and I know that he did too. The tension of office, projects, tenders, reports, everything.
That is what you call home, right?
A place where there is nothing but peace, pure bliss...
