SAPPHIRE’S POV:
I choked on the delicious food I so wanted to eat.
“What!” Taking the glass of water passed to me I drank the whole content. Yet the burning throat reminded me of what he just said.
“Are you alright?” Max asked so calmly that it only doubled my anger.
“Alright? ALRIGHT!? You dare to ask me if I’m alright?! No! I’m Not!” I kept my already cold lunch aside and turned fully at him.
“Am I in a movie where two long lost brothers come together with the help of a single girl! If you are Abel then why aren’t you with your brother and dad!” I was cut off by the voice I didn’t want to hear at the moment.
“Abel?” We both turned sharply towards Adam’s voice and saw him standing with one hand on the handle of the door and the other was holding a bag from dominos. God help me...
“You are alive. And you knew him?” He looked from me to Max and then at me with sadness that crushed my heart.
“Adam let me explain...” Max started only to get stopped.
“Explain what brother? Why you are in front of me or why you died in the first place.” He growled and quickly put the food on the table before leaving my office.
“Adam!” I ran after him not looking at Max but I couldn’t miss the way he looked desperately at Adam.
My barefoot gave me the chance to catch up with him and just before the door closed I was in. I breathe in relief and tired to my man.
“Adam hey.” I sneaked my arms around his chest and listened to his uneven heartbeat. This is the first time I’ve felt his heart run so fast after our month earlier make out session.
I felt his arms slowly wrap around my waist and he buried his face in the coke of my neck. Taking a few deep breaths he finally relaxed a little bit and tasted his chin over my head.
“He is my brother.” He whispered as I rubbed his back.
“How can you be so sure?” I whispered back as all I wanted this to be was Max’s one of many stupidest pranks.
“He is my brother Angel. He was born just two minutes after me. God! He mostly looks like my carbon copy. I sucked in a deep breath as I realised that it is true. Now that I compare Adam and Max has most features similar. Their hair colour, body structure, height and of course he also can make a ghost fall for their charms.
“How stupid I can be? I didn’t notice such a big resemblance. Max indeed is a carbon copy of his brother, except for the hairstyle.” I heard Adam chuckled and kiss my forehead as the door of the elevator opened.
“Do I at least get a chance to explain myself to you, Adam?” We both pulled apart as we heard Max which his arms crossed.
“You better have a very very big reason to plot your death.” I felt him shiver at the thought of Max getting hurt and it warmed my heart to see the implied love to each other.
“I do brother, let’s talk.” We left the elevator which I’m sorry if I forget to mention was still on my floor as I pressed the stop button as soon as I walked in.
So here I’m sitting between the brothers so they don’t punch each other’s pretty too good to be punched face.
