Julian tried to wrench free. Liam held on until Julian stopped struggling.
His gray eyes shifted to me. “Harper, do you want security?”
His grip stayed locked around Julian’s wrist.
“No. Thank you. Release him.”
Liam obeyed at once. Julian backed away, rubbing his wrist.
Then Liam faced the investors. “A formal introduction appears to be overdue. This is Harper Sterling, sole heiress to the Sterling conglomerate.”
The room went quiet.
Everyone there knew the Sterling name. Our family invested in half the country’s major industries, but we rarely attached our surname to those investments.
Several guests checked the invitation list, searching for a different answer.
Mr. Harrison looked from me to the patent certificate. “Miss Sterling,” he said, and inclined his head.
