Something dug into my cheek. I winced and pushed myself up, my palm scraping over rough concrete. Cold clung to my skin, sinking through the oversized T-shirt hanging off my body. I blinked hard. Thin strips of sunlight slipped through the filthy windows, spilling across abandoned canvases and empty paint tubes scattered around the studio. My entire body ached.
