Ruby was standing at the door in her nightgown.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be asleep?" I asked her as she walked into the room.
"I came to find something to eat and overheard you speaking on the phone. Sorry I couldn't help but to stop and listen." She slowly said, "It sounded nice and sweet." She smiled.
"Yeah, that's my mom for you. She thinks she's hilarious. She's the opposite actually."
"I'd say she's quite funny. She got you there with that one. I was scared you were going to choke."
"She really got me." I agreed.
We fell into deep silence as I began to think about several things.
