Maya
The knock stopped and before I could even move the door swung open. Adrian pushed inside, shutting the door behind him. My chest tightened, the room suddenly smaller with him in it, his presence pressing against me.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I snapped, taking a step back, gripping the edge of the desk behind me.
He didn’t answer, his eyes moved over the room and then locked on me, every instinct screamed that he wasn’t leaving just because I told him to.
“Get out,” I tried again, colder this time, pointing at the door. “You can’t just come in here.”
“You think you can keep running from me,” he said, his voice low and cold, making shivers run down my spine. “but you can’t. The bond’s already there, it ties us, and nothing you say changes that.”
My stomach twisted at his words. I hated the certainty in his tone, the way he spoke as if this was already decided. “What bond! And I don’t care about any bond whatsoever,” I shot back, though my voice shook. “I want you to leave.”
His eyes darkened, and for the first time I saw his control slip. It came in the way his chest rose. My pulse raced, my body betrayed me even while my mind screamed to stay strong.
His hand pressed against the wall beside my head, caging me in, his breath was hot against my skin. The closeness made my body react before I could stop it.
“Adrian…” I started, but his name caught in my throat.
His other hand grabbed my waist and in one pull my back hit the wall. My heart hammered as his lips brushed against my throat, rough and desperate, and I couldn’t breathe. He pinned me there with his body, stronger than I had ever felt anyone, and there was no space left between us.
“You belong to me,” he said, his voice low and steady against my skin. “You can deny it all you want but you feel it, the bond doesn’t lie.”
His mouth moved along my neck and I gasped, my hands pushing at his chest but my fingers shook too much to find strength. Heat spread through me, dangerous and overwhelming, and I hated that part of me answered his touch even while my head screamed to fight it.
He pressed harder, his lips claiming more of me, his voice sinking deep in my ear. “You’re mine, Maya, nothing changes that.”
I squeezed my eyes shut, every muscle locked between resisting and surrendering, the wall at my back, his body pressed against the front.
I pushed against his chest, my palms flat on the hard muscle, shoving with all the strength I had left. “Stop, Adrian, get off me,” I said, my voice sharp but shaky. He didn’t move, his body unyielding, his eyes locked on mine like he could see right through me. I hit him again, harder this time, but it was like hitting a wall and my strength faltered under the weight of his dominance and something inside me that twisted against my will.
His hand caught my wrist and the other tightened at my waist, pulling me closer until my body pressed into his. My breath hitched and before I could speak again his mouth crashed down on mine. The kiss wasn’t gentle, it was raw and consuming, stealing the air from my lungs, his lips rough and demanding as his tongue forced its way past mine. I fought for a second, my hands pushing at him, but the heat of it burned through me until my fingers curled against his shirt instead of shoving him away.
He deepened the kiss, his hand sliding under my top, rough palms grazing bare skin, making me jolt as sparks shot through every nerve. His mouth moved harder against mine, and I gasped, letting him take more, my lips swollen under the press of his. His other hand traced down my thigh, gripping tight, dragging me toward the bed. My legs hit the edge, and in one motion he stripped the shirt over my head, his eyes dark and hungry as he took me in.
I barely had time to cover myself before his mouth was on me again, lips trailing down my chest, teeth scraping against tender skin. My head fell back, a cry slipping out as his hand pulled at my shorts, yanking them down while his body caged me in. The room spun, the air thick with his scent and heat, and there was no space for hesitation when his weight pressed me down into the mattress.
My hands grabbed at his shoulders, meaning to push, but he caught both wrists and pinned them above my head with one hand. His mouth claimed me again, his tongue rough, his teeth grazing, every kiss pulling me deeper into something I couldn’t fight. His free hand slid lower, stripping away the last barrier between us, leaving me bare under him, my chest heaving and my mind spinning.
When he entered me I cried out, my back arching off the bed as his body drove into mine, filling me until I could hardly breathe. The pace was relentless, his hips slamming against mine, his claws grazing down my side, leaving thin red lines that burned and thrilled all at once. His teeth dragged along my throat, biting just enough to make me gasp, marking me as his.
I clung to him, nails digging into his skin, torn between resistance and need, every thrust pushing me further until the fight drained from my muscles. His mouth stayed on me, biting, sucking, claiming every inch while the bed creaked beneath us. The bond flared between us with every movement, every sound, and I couldn’t hold back the cry that ripped from my throat when he pushed me over the edge.
Adrian followed, his body crushing down on mine as he buried himself deeper, his growl low in my ear, the sound vibrating through me until I shuddered again. He held me there, his breath harsh, his skin hot against mine, our bodies tangled and damp with sweat.
I lay trembling beneath him, my chest rising and falling too fast, every nerve raw and overstimulated. His grip loosened on my wrists but he didn’t pull away, his lips brushing the shell of my ear, his voice low and certain. “This is only the beginning, Maya,” he whispered, his words sinking into me as my body quivered under him. “You can never escape me.”
My eyes burned, my body weak, and even as my mind screamed to deny it, I couldn’t move, couldn’t speak, all I could do was feel the weight of him on top of me and the truth in his words.
