Chapter 13: The Debate

Michael's first debate competition arrived sooner than he expected. He was nervous but determined to do his best.

As he took the stage, Michael felt his heart racing. He glanced out at the audience and saw familiar faces, including Jake, who was sitting in the front row with a supportive smile.

Michael's nerves began to settle as he started speaking. He presented his arguments clearly and confidently, using the research and preparation he had done.

The Competition

The debate was intense, with both teams presenting strong arguments. Michael felt a sense of pride and accomplishment as he listened to his opponents' points and responded thoughtfully.

When the judges announced the winner, Michael held his breath. He had given it his all, but he wasn't sure if it would be enough.

The Result

To Michael's surprise, his team won the debate. He felt an overwhelming sense of joy and relief, and his teammates congratulated him on a job well done.

Jake approached him, beaming with pride. "I knew you could do it, Michael," he said. "You're an amazing debater."

The Celebration

Michael's teammates suggested they celebrate their win with dinner at a nearby restaurant. Michael agreed, feeling grateful for the camaraderie and support.

Over dinner, they discussed their debate strategies and shared stories about their experiences. Michael felt like he had finally found his place in school.
