" Princess," Nayyirah guards run over to us. I move my hands from her face. " Are you alright," they swarm around her. I take a step back letting them check on her. I turn around and look at the burn pile across from us. I walk over to it and inspect it, this stinks like burnt flesh. I look at it closely," is this the immortal?" " Yes," Nayyirah says. I look at the pile of ashes for a few seconds before turning around to them. " Let's get out of the forest," I walk over to them. We began to walk back to the carriage," at least it's not raining any more." I look up and see a rainbow going across the sky. The ground turned to mud after the rain making it harder for us to get back on the road. " There goes one of your men," the brown hair guard points.

Good, we're almost back to the road. Nayyirah's guards rush over to help him. Nayyirah slips falling backwards and I catch her. My palms burn as I grip her waist. I bite my lip keeping myself from shouting," thank you." She looks at me," what's wrong," she pulls away. " Nothing," she grabs my hands. I hiss in pain," your hands are burnt." She looks at them," if I was a healer you wouldn't be in this pain." " I'm fine," I pull my hands away. " Yall okay over there," I look over Nayyirah and both her guards carry my guard. " Let's hurry up and get back on the road." The journey back to the carriage was quick," that was brutal." They set my guard on the ground.

" My carriage is down the road.You stay here while I get it." " No, you're hurt. You need to clean and wrap your hands before they get infected." I look at my palms, all red and swollen," fine." I sit on the ground next to the guard while Nayyirah's guards go through their bags. After they collect all their bags,the dark hair guard brings over a red and white box. He sets in on the ground in front of us. While he attended to the guard, Nayyirah gently dapped my hands with this clear liquid." How does it feel," she looks at me." Stings a little but I'll live." She nods," how far is the carriage?" The other guard stands in the middle of the road. " Less than a mile," I shrug. " Well it looks like we have company," my carriage stops in front of him.

" Prince Sebastian," they ran over to me. " Are you alright?"" Yes, load their bags on the other carriage." " Yes, sir," they pick the bags up. Nayyirah put a cream on my hands," this should keep them from burning." I nod my head as I trace the light up markings over her palm. She wraps my hands," why are they lighting up?" " Uh, I'm finished," she releases my hands and walks away. She speaks to her guards then gets in the carriage. My hands are covered in brown bandages," let me help you up." The blond haired guard reaches his hand out,"thanks." He grabs my wrist and pulls me up. " It means nothing," he whispers. He walks away helping with the test of the bags.

" Prince Sebastian," I hear footsteps behind me. I turn to face one of my guards," yes." " With the extra people it will weigh the horses down." "I know but until we caught up with Tristan and Miracle. We are all going to be in the carriage. We'll have to take breaks more often than usual." " Yes sir," he walks away. I open the door and climb in and see that the fox is cuddled up in Nayyirah's lap. The injury guard sits across from her. I take the empty seat next to her," he likes you. He doesn't sit for long." " He's calm now," the door opens and both her guards stand at the bottom of the carriage. " I'll sit up front," the blonde moves while the brown hair one climbs in.

After a few seconds, the carriage moves and silence fills the carriage." How far do you think the other carriage got," the brown haired guard asks. I shrug," before the rain started they were a few feet ahead of me. They could already be at the Duke's castle," I shrug. The carriage goes silent as the carriage moves slowly up the road. The injured guard falls asleep, while Nayyirah looks out the window. Her guard keeps his eye on me, he must think that I'm going to or say something to her? I look out the window, why was her markings lit up? I never saw an immortal do that before. For her guard to tell me it means nothing makes me more curious.

The sun starts to set,"there's the other carriage," one of the guards says." I peek my head farther out the window when I see Miracle and Tristan standing on the side of the road. At least they did leave us, the carriage come to a stop. I open the door," where have you been," Miracle walks over the carriage with Tristan following behind her. I step out of the carriage and Miracle looks down at my hands," what happened to your hands." She grabs them," the immortal attacked Nayyirah's carriage. I ended up getting burned in the process." I wave my wrapped hands," is she okay? Did the immortal get away?" She darts her eyes to the carriage," actually Nayyirah ended up defeating the immortal and she is not hurt."

" Good, " she looked relieved." " We're a little cramped in my carriage can a few of us move to yours?"" Yes we have plenty of space," I nod, going back to the carriage. I poke my head in the carriage," Miracle can take a few of us in her carriage." Everyone looked around at each other when a thump on the side carriage. I backed out of the carriage," I'll go, they can stay." Nayyirah's other guard says. " Good, let's go. We don't want to be on this road for too long after dark." We all walk to the other carriage. Miracle and Tristan sit on one side while me and Nayyirah's guard sit on the other.

After a few seconds the carriage starts to move," excuse me, what's your name?" Miracle looks at the guard," Ryan, ma'am." " Ryan, can you tell what happened?" " Yes, we stopped when the driver couldn't see the road and we all sat inside the carriage. After a while, something big crashed into us, knocking the carriage over." " Oh my fairies," Miracle puts her hand over her chest. The fake theatrics, " we all ended up getting out and the immortal was standing in the middle of the road. Your men were holding her off while we ran into the forest. She ended up catching up to us and Nayyirah was able to defeat her with her fire powers." " That's good," Miracle smiles.

" When we get to the castle. You can go home while we send word to the king." " Yes ma'am," he nods. What's her plan? The one person that she was working with is now dead. Who else can she be working with? I look at her for a few minutes," is there something on your mind Sebastian?" " Just thinking about how we have seen the Duke and Duchess in a long time." " It's been a very long time. Their daughter have come of age as well. You should think about inviting them to your introduction." " I'm sure father invited all the fairy families near and far but I'll remind to tell them as well." As night starts to approach we start to see the castle in the distance," we are close." Miracle gets giddy, what is she up to?
