Chapter 1

At 10 p.m., I misted two sprays of a custom fragrance onto the inside of my wrist, blending it with my own scent. I pulled a lace mask over my face. Naked on the leather sofa, I felt my pulse hammering out of control. Click. The door swung open. Leon Sterling's scent came in first, cigar smoke and fir needles, cut through with the bite of whiskey. His towering frame swallowed all the light above me. He seized my wrist and pinned it overhead. A silk tie slid down, wound tight, locking me to the sofa arm. His breathing was rough, animal-like. He drove into me without warning. No foreplay, no kissing. Only hard, relentless thrusts. My thoughts began to dissolve. Over the next few hours, he forced me into the sofa, onto his lap, onto the floor. When he lost control, he bit into my shoulders and the inner curve of my thighs until blood rose to the surface. He never kissed me, never removed the mask. He only carved teeth marks again and again into the softest skin at my thigh root. Those were his signatures. And through these nightly violent encounters, I fell ill with an acquired craving for rough touch. The trigger was constant, overwhelming stimulation. He turned me into someone who needed him just to function. His touch was my cure, and my curse. It hit every 12 hours. Without suppressants, I burned with fever, shook in convulsions, my body aflame, my mind stripped clean. Only one thought remained: touch him. Beg him to touch me, let him take me in the roughest way. By day, I played normal, but at night, I couldn't survive without him. At six in the morning, I dragged my shattered body back to my rented apartment and swallowed a suppressant. My phone lit up suddenly. ICU Ward Nurses' Station: Please settle the patient's hospital bill, or treatment will be stopped. Evelyn: Noted. Payment will be made on time. I changed into a black suit, tied my hair into a severe bun, and put on black-rimmed glasses. I became a low-level assistant no one ever looked at twice. When I reached the company, a termination notice was slammed straight into my face.
