Chapter 2

742 Words
Clang. Leon threw his coffee cup down right at my feet. Hot dark liquid splattered up my legs, burning my calf so sharply it jerked on instinct. I didn't flinch. Flinching meant death. "Grab your stuff and get out. Security, remove her in five minutes," Leon said, pointing straight at me. My lower stomach spasmed, the craving surging back again. I had already taken my suppressant that morning, and the next dose wouldn't come until tomorrow. "You're an assistant, and you can't even check a basic report. And you still want to argue? Negligence dismissal, no payout," Leon said coldly. I couldn't get a word out. Something was writhing under the skin of my inner thigh, drilling straight into my bones. "Get out," he said. I turned and left. The elevator doors slid open, and the moment I stepped in, someone followed behind me. It was Leon. He didn't even glance at me, standing across the cabin as he hit the top floor button. That fir and cigar scent closed in from every direction. My sanity started to fracture, purely physical. Every pore in my body screamed for that scent, every nerve twitching, begging to be touched by those rough hands. Click. The elevator jerked and froze. The cabin dropped into darkness. "Damn it! What's going on?" Leon hit the intercom. I went down on my knees. "What the hell are you doing?" Leon's voice was full of disgust. My fingers grazed the inside of his thigh, like a shock exploding through my brain. I pressed my burning cheek against him. "Are you insane?" He kicked my shoulder. I hit the elevator wall hard, pain ripping through my back. But I crawled right back again. The addiction had taken full control. The switch in my head that kept me sane had snapped. 'Beg him, let him touch me. Let those burning hands press into my skin. Choke me, grab me, anything...' I clung to his leg again, burying my face completely. "Get off!" Leon reached down, trying to tear my hands away. His fingers pressed into the most sensitive skin at my wrist. His breathing changed in an instant. He had severe skin hunger syndrome. He needed constant opposite-s*x skin contact or his autonomic system would collapse, his temperature shooting out of control. But he couldn't tolerate a woman's face. It would trigger vomiting, spasms, even shock-like fainting. Only one exception existed, a woman whose face he had never seen, and that was me. He ripped open my buttons with brute force, his palm landing on my chest. His whole body trembled, the craving taking over. "Who the hell are you?" In the dark, I heard his belt come undone. He seized both my wrists and wrapped a silk tie around them, tightening it into a hard knot. "When the elevator gets fixed, I'll see your face clearly," he breathed against my ear, his heat burning through me. "If you're who I think you are, you're dead. If you're not—well, you'll wish you were." Dead either way? I slumped against him, shaking violently. The wetness between my thighs had already soaked through my lining. The lights snapped on, and the elevator doors slid open. The security chief stood outside, drenched in sweat. "Mr. Sterling, I'm sorry!" The brightness was so harsh I couldn't open my eyes. Leon lowered his head and finally saw my face. His expression shifted instantly into pure disgust. He staggered back, crashing into the elevator wall. He grabbed a trash bin and vomited. "Medicine!" I lifted my head, vision blurred with tears. "Please! Just touch me!" I crawled toward his feet on my knees. "I'm really going to die, Leon!" I said his name out loud. His whole body jerked like he had been struck. He crouched down, grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up. "Evelyn Green? It's you?" He stood up and yanked me off the floor, dragging me all the way down the hallway into the CEO lounge. He kicked the door shut behind us. He threw me onto the sofa and pinned me down, ripping off his tie and binding my eyes. "During the day, you walk around in these rags, pretending to be a nun," he straddled me, leaning in so close his lips brushed my ear. "At night, you open your legs wider than anyone? I'm going to find out if you sound the same as her when you beg."
