Chapter 15

3258 Words
So sorry for being late! My life was a mess for the past few days and I was barely able to publish the already written chapters of the undying rose. Replying to Shiranai Atsune, yes, the other two are the tsukinamis as I decided there'll officially be no Kino in my story. Why? Well... Just when I thought that Karlheinz couldn't get any filthier, an illegal son appeared. You can imagine how I felt knowing about that. Another review from a new reader! Black Moons Daughter: Thanks a lot for your opinion about my story! And I was here thinking that I did a crappy job with the Mukamis personalities ;) Anyways, enjoy the chapter then review ^^ Disclaimer: I own nothing~ The main character, Nami, belongs to ShiranaiAtsune. After learning the truth about myself, I began visiting Reiji's library often to know more. Sadly, we both couldn't find additional information to what we already found. Honestly, not only I wanted to know about my mom, I also wanted to know about my dad. Despite his cruel nature that I also discovered recently, mom must've found something in him. That's why she married him and left the witch world behind, isn't it? I also felt like something more was hidden, something will really hurt me when I know it. Why did I think that? It's because nothing of what I learned was good and thus I concluded that the wrost was left for last. I sat in the limo still thinking. The car was as quiet as always so that helped a lot. "b***h-chan~ What's on your mind tonight?" Laito leaned and asked with his usual tone. I looked at him. "Nothing. What's on your mind?" I replied. "Well, other than wondering why are you wearing tights today under your skirt, I have some dirty thoughts of you." He said straightforwardly and grinned. (Not that I didn't guess that...) I thought mentally rolling my eyes. "I'm wearing tights because of two incidents that happend yesterday that I don't want them to happen again." I said shooting glares to both Reiji and Shuu. They both ignored me though. "Hmm... What kind of incidents?" Laito said slyly. "Your kind of incidents." I replied looking to the window again. "Ohoho~ I'm interested now~" he said getting closer. I looked once again at him. "You're acting like you have no idea of what happened. I bet you know more than I do, Laito." I said in a serious tone as I wasn't in the mood for his jokes. "Fufu~ You got that right. And I think the same as Shuu, you wear some pretty plain underwear don't you b***h-chan?" I flinched hearing that. In a second, I took a peek to see ther others reaction. Reiji looked annoyed. Kanato rose his eyes from his teddy. Ayato looked interested and Shuu smirked in his sleep. Subaru's face was slightly blushing at the mention of the topic. And of course, when he caught me looking at him, he quickly averted his eyes and clicked his tongue. My earlier embarrassment turned into frustration after seeing that. The silvered haired guy started to avoid me again for some reason. No matter how much I tried to understand why he started to ignore me again, I didn't get an answer as I did nothing to anger him the last few days. I also didn't spent time with Ayato and Laito, and I suspected that he knew about my time with Shuu since he did nothing to tell me that he knew. The only thing I noticed was him glaring at Reiji a lot. And that, I didn't know a reason for it too. Being next to him in class didn't help as he didn't even look at me. I tried throwing my rubber right into his head. It hit him hardly so I finally was able to get his attention. But that didn't last long as he crushed my poor rubber to little pieces and clicked his tongue again. I walked alone in the break time thinking about my problems. Being a witch, and not knowing who I am, the task of helping the brothers and recently a very angry Subaru to deal with. I didn't know why I even cared so much about that guy. Deep inside, I just couldn't let him be and leave him alone like that. (Looks like I need to nag him again to talk to me...) I thought. "Well, well... If it isn't M-neko-chan~" I stopped thinking and walking hearing that voice. "Kou-Sama!" I said automatically. "Funny to hear you call me that after you just blasted my face with a broom a while ago." Kou said smiling dangerously. "Sorry. Just a habit." I replied. "So, did you need anything?" I asked deciding to act normally. Kou's face was priceless. His full widened eyes told me that he didn't except that at all. "Wow... You're really something... Neko-chan..." He said in a surprised tone. I was surprised too, but not for the same reason. It was because of my fear lessening a lot after discovering that I was a witch. I couldn't die easily, nor get hurt or break. Of course there were other opinions for me to fear, but I felt like they didn't terrify me anymore. In fact, my whole confidence just doubled after learning who I truly was. "Well, this is a school and that's why I need to forget everything happened the few days ago and 'behave' as Reiji always says." "Again this can't come from you. Yuma was pretty mad when we went back and he kept asking me about who the hell was the girl that actually dared and hit him." Kou said grinning. I smiled. "You guys started it." "And that's why I came here to end it..." Kou said as his innocent mask fell off. "Care to give me a bite, M-neko-chan?" He said pinning his hands around me. "Why want mine so badly? You have a lot of fans who are ready to die for you. Mentioning that, they're really giving me a hard time as they keep asking what's my relationship with you." I said trying to move his hands away. He was strong like the six I had back in the manor. "Mmm... Too bad for you, not that I care though." He said aiming for my neck. "For some reason, those girls' blood don't have the same smell as yours. Even the other Neko-chan smelled different... It's like you're... One of a kind..." Kou said tilting his head to bite me. (One of a kind... Huh...) I thought as I tried to look into Kou's eyes. Him being next to my neck and his tall bangs stopped me from seeing his eyes. That's why I tried something to make him back away a little. Before he could bite me, I took two of my fingers and planted them harshly in his neck. My tall nails helped me as his skin opened and some blood went down from the new cut. Feeling that, Kou quickly backed away. I could see his surprise doubled as he reached for his bleeding neck and touched it. Once again, before he could react or do anything, I quickly dashed towards him and pushed him on the wall. In seconds, my hands moved towards his face and held it gently. His different colored eyes were visible that time so I focused my attention on them and tried to see into the blond vampire's past. The vision was hazy. It was also short as I only could see a small Kou smiling in the sun. Then it suddenly went dark and I found myself in a cold cell. The memory ended there as I found myself looking at the still shocked Kou once again. Like Shuu's memory, I could hear some words at the end of the vision. That time the words were: Impure vampires. (Impure...) I thought stepping back and letting go of Kou's face. Kou was so shocked that he needed a little bit of time to say something: "What was that, Neko-chan...?" He said slowly. "Before I answer that, I wanted to ask you a question." I said deciding to ask straightforwardly. "What's an impure vampire?" Kou's shocked expression turned into a furious one. "How do you know about this?" He asked glaring at me. "I heard one of the brothers say it before." I lied. "Can you tell me what does it mean?" I asked again. In brief moments, Kou's teleported and pushed my shoulder on the wall. I felt it being crushed under his strong palm but I somehow maintained a steady face. "You really have a lot of courage, M-neko-chan. I'm not even sure if I can call you that anymore." He said looking down at me. "Why do you want to know about this?" "Because I care about you." I replied quickly. By that, Kou eyes widened again. "Care about me...?" He said as his grip loosened a bit. "Yes. Even with all of your attacks, I still couldn't find it right to hate you as I spent half my life idolizing you and looking up to you. You were and still my favorite idol that I can't forget about so easily. You may think that it's not much, but you should never underestimate a fan's love. I think you're already aware of how far a fan can go for his beloved idol aren't you?" I said smiling despite my pain. Kou looked a little touched by my words. I smiled as he removed his hand from my shoulder. My smile didn't fade even with him changing his face back. "What you're saying is right. I know how much love some of my fans can give me. But if you know that, then you should know that I'm also used to sweet words shouldn't you?" Kou said smiling darkly. "I know. And I also know that you're able to tell honest words from fake ones. Tell me, am I lying right now?" I asked grinning. To my surprise, he grinned back. "No you're not." He said returning to be Kou the idol. "Okay. I'll answer that for you, but then you'll have to answer a little bit of mine." I nodded in agreement. Kou turned and placed his hands behind his head. "As the name says, impure vampires means mixed they're with other species, want to guess which one?" he said in a shrugging tone. "Humans?" I said as it was the obvious choice. "Bingo." Kou winked. "That's why the Sakamaki brothers look down on you?" I said remembering Reiji's expression when he learned that my father was a human. "Yup. But that is completely wrong as we are as strong and can do some serious damage. Want me to show you, neko-chan?" Kou said grabbing my chin. I didn't reply and waited him to say more. Kou saw that and let go of me. "Now your turn, neko-chan. Tell me why are you so different." "In what ways I'm different?" "In a lot of ways!" Kou replied quickly. "When I first saw you, I thought that you were a useless and a shy fan of mine." I frowned hearing that part. "In the second time I thought that you were brave and had enough of a personality to stand up for yourself in front of beings stronger than you. Now... I don't even see an once of fear in your eyes!" Kou said loudly. "Why's that?!" I felt embarrassed a little. "Well... I thought about it all. About my life, about my purpose of living and about how I deal with my problems. What I came out with after all that were several things. Those included me trying not to fear everything that I don't know. I decided that I will try to understand people before judging them. And I think that I already know a lot about Kou the idol from being you fan. I just need now to know about Kou the person." I smiled again. Kou blinked several times then smirked. "I like that. But what if you couldn't handle Kou the person?" "I think I can. After all, I'm living with a guy who loves to pull up my skirt. Another one who tries to poison me for his experiments. A guy who attacks me eye-closed and a guy that wanted to turn me into a wax doll. Lastly a guy that likes to scare life out of me with his pranks... And a guy who crushes everything in his way and won't hesitate if to do so to me." I said smiling bitterly. (Though the last one isn't as bad as before... I just wish he'd stop ignoring me often...) I thought as my cheeks felt a little hot. As if he heard me thinking about him, Subaru appeared suddenly in the hallway me and Kou were standing in. Without warning, he dashed with a fist in his hands towards Kou. Luckily, Kou dodged Subaru's strong fist. That resulted in Subaru's punch being delivered to the wall. And as usual, Subaru never failed to make the wall crack. "Whoa... That was dangerous..." Kou muttered taking several steps away from the angered Subaru. "What the f**k you're doing here?! Didn't I tell you to stay away from her?!" Subaru yelled loudly. "And you thought I would listen to you? Too naive, Subaru-kun." Kou said and I know he was provoking Subaru by referring to him being older than him by a year. Subaru noticed that. "The hel-" he stopped seeing Kou's smirk. "You're dead, pink boy! I'll crush you!" Subaru yelled once again and went after Kou. Subaru's yells sure attracted a lot of students as soon we were surrounded by a pile of them. Kou's fans looked at me like I was the bitchiest person alive. In worry, I took Subaru's hand and dragged him away from the hallway. "Why do you always stop me from crushing that asshole's skull?!" Subaru said yelling again. "Because if you crush his skull, you'll be expelled and I won't be able to see you in class again." I said smiling. (And of course I would try and protect my favorite idol.) I thought to myself. Subaru's anger went down a bit. "Tch..." Was all he said. "Thanks again for helping me. You're always there for me aren't you, Subaru?" I said leaning into his sight. Subaru's cheeks reddened. "Remove that grin of yours! It doesn't mean anything!" He said. I giggled. "I know." I then stopped giggling and went serious. "Now that's you're here, tell me why are you avoiding me again." Subaru turned and looked at me. "I wasn't avoiding you." "You were and you will continue to do so." I replied firmly. He clicked his tongue, took a deep breath then started: "You want to know? Fine! I'm avoiding you cause I'm holding myself from taking your face and planting it into the ground!" He yelled. I jumped a bit. "What did I do?" "Nothing but going back and forth from that manners freak's room! You spend hours in there!" "Does that bother you?" "Hell yeah since you are MY bait! Not his!" "You sound like Ayato now." "I don't give a damn!" The conversation died there. I thought of a new way to start. That's when a certain thought appeared in my mind. "Subaru, are you jealous?" I wondered. "From what?!" He replied getting slightly red again. "That's what I want to know. It's not like I did anything with Reiji. He didn't even drink my blood." That was honest. The only thing I did with Reiji was searching his huge library for information about myself and mom. Not that I could tell Subaru that of course. "Then?" "I just go there for reading." I said shrugging. Subaru looked dumbfounded. (Wasn't this obvious?) I thought. "Why read in his room?" "Because he says that he doesn't trust me with his precious books, that's why." I simply said. Subaru looked kinda embarrassed. "Now that you know, will you act normally again?" He didn't answer. "You know Subaru, I don't know why you don't like your brothers much nor I know why you hate me spending time with them. I only know that you're the only one who I don't mind drinking my blood. I also know that you're the only one I feel like something's missing if I don't talk with." I said true things that I noticed about myself recently. "I don't if it was because of you always being nice with me but-" "Me? Nice? Hah." Subaru interrupted me. His tone sounded as he was mocking himself. "Don't be embarrassed." I teased him. "I'm not!" He replied eating the bait. I giggled. "You know, that's why I think that you're the very first friend I ever made!" I said smiling widely. Subaru started to walk away. "I'm not your freaking friend..." He mumbled. "Yes you are. Even if you don't admit it." He sighed. "By the way, what were those marks on Kou's neck? Looked like vampire bites to me," Subaru said changing the topic. I decided to go with the flow. "Those I think we're from Yuma." I said teasing the silver-haired vampire again. "Yuma?!" He yelled shocked. "Yup. He was drinking Kou's blood before I came." Subaru just stood there, his mouth opening from shock. "I'm joking." I said after a few seconds. "Why you!" He said after he fully understood and delivered a punch towards me, which I thankfully dodged. "And I thought I knew another weirdo!" He said taking his fist out of the wall. "What? Laito doesn't only flirt with girls?" I asked smiling slyly. "From where you get these shitty ideas?!" "I don't know." I shrugged. We started each other for seconds before staring to laugh hysterically. With that, I made up with grumpy Subaru once again. I also felt like my relationship became better with Kou. All that luck made my think that something really bad is waiting for me. When I came back to class, I began thinking about Kou's memory, and why it was buzzier than the others. I suspected that it was due to him being half vampire, but I wasn't sure yet. I also began to think of a possibility of the Mukamis having bad memories as the Sakamakis that made them the cruel guys that they are now. Leaving that, I felt like I also needed to know more about the two Mukamis that I didn't get to really know last time. Maybe with their help, I could gather more information that will help me solve the mystery of the Sakamaki household. Nami wearing tights was a natural response to what happened in the previous chapter, I think. I wanted to make her wearing shorts but then I remembered that I've written that in my other story. I also remembered seeing a picture of a female Subaru, that Subaru was wearing tights under her skirt. That's why I thought that Nami being his couple, it's okay for her to do that. Just a little bit of fixing up things with Kou. Was it good? How about Subaru's time? Tell me what you thought with a review please~ You have no idea how much times I check the review section after publishing. Thank you for reading this. Look forward to the next chapter which I will try to publish soon. Bye!
