Chapter 3

Thank for the reviews! I was really happy when I read them. And did you guess who was in the bed? I'm guessing it's obvious but I hope that it may be a surprise for some... Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot as the main OC, Nami, belongs to Shiranai Atsune. I stood in my place speechless watching who laid in the bed. "Are you okay...?" I said as I slowly approached the pale girl. She didn't answer. I touched her hand. She was cold, but still had a pulsing heart. I shook her gently. She slowly opened her eyes. "H-hello there..." she said in a weak voice. "You're finally here..." I gasped. "You were expecting me?" She smiled. "Of course... You are the new sacrificial bride... aren't you...?" She said and tried to sit. "Don't force yourself!" I said when I barely caught her as she collapsed. "Sacrificial bride? What does that mean?" I asked feeling uneasy. "Exactly what it means... you are a sacrifice... for the brothers... and you'll stay here... until you die..." I shivered when I heard the last sentence. I stared at the blond girl. I narrowed my eyes when I saw that she had bite marks all over her neck and shoulders. "You too..." I said afraid of what I might hear next. "Yes... I was a sacrificial bride too... but as you can see... I can no more be one... *cough*" she suddenly coughed loudly. I tapped her back as she seemed to be in great pain. "My life may be ending soon... so before that happens... I wanted to tell you... how to avoid ending up like me... *cough*" "Stop talking. It will be worse if you do." I laid her back in the bed and covered her up. I looked then around. (Doesn't she has a medicine?) I searched on the table and in all of the drawers. Finally I found a bottle of medicine in the last drawer. "Is this yours?" I said softly trying not to disturb her. "Call me Yui... and yes... it's mine... but I don't think I need that anymore..." I felt my heart aching as I saw how hopeless she was. "Don't give up hope yet. You are alive aren't you? Here, drink this and rest a bit. Then we'll talk." I said looking at the bottle. I followed the instructions that I found on the bottle's label and gave Yui a spoon of her medicine. When I was done, I got out of my place and opened the window to air the room a bit. "Yui-san, what did they do to you that made you this sick?" She smiled. "A lot happened... but it's not important... listen well... I ended up this way because I was weak... it's not their fault..." I was shocked. "How could you say that?! Even if I don't know anything, I can see how much they harmed you-" "They have a reason... for being like this... please... you have to help them..." she said trying to get up again. I placed her back one more time. "Okay. I won't talk. Just please stop moving and rest." She nodded. "You have to be strong... you can't let them break you... and if they do anything bad... don't stay silent... tell them that they are wrong... help them to be better..." I didn't reply. (Is she telling me to stay here...?) "Mr. Sakamki told me about you... you're able to see their memories at will... that's why... he brought you here..." I couldn't stay silent anymore. "Mr. Sakamaki? See their memories? And you're saying that my father knew about this?!" The last sentence shook me the most. (Why would my father bring me here? Did I do something wrong?) She smiled bitterly. "I understand your feelings... I was like that at first... you'll understand too soon... just please... don't try to run away anymore... the more you run... the more they chase you and hurt you... *cough* *cough*" she coughed roughly so I decided to stop pushing the words out of her. "I understand. I won't do anything for now. But you need to rest and I'll make sure that you won't die like this." I placed my hand on her forehead. (Thank god... no fever...) She chuckled. "Thank you..." she said then closed her eyes and gave up for sleep. I stood up and went for the door. I was about to go out when I heard her saying: "I didn't get your name..." I turned to face her. "It's Nami. Nami Kuromajo." She smiled one more time. "Nami..." she muttered before going back to sleep again. I closed the door gently. While talking with Yui, I was able to keep on a poker face, hiding all the feelings that fought inside me. However, after I got out of that room, my mask broke as I fell on my knees. I placed my shaking hands on my face. I felt confused, scared, broken and angry. (What if my father really knew about this place? What should I do then?) I felt an unbearable urge for answers. (I guess there's only one way to find out...) I thought deciding facing the problem right on instead of hiding and running away. I started walking and looking for one of the brothers. I was surprised as I searched five different rooms and found nothing. (Where could they be?) I continued looking as I went into rooms that I didn't see before. I finally stopped when I heard voices coming out from room with a huge door. I was about to knock the door when I heard something that caught my attention. "Why did he bring another one? Wasn't it enough of what happened with Yui already?!" An angry voice yelled inside. "I am sorry to tell you that I as well, have no clue about what he is thinking. Our only choice is to accept things as it is and follow his words." I needn't help to recognize the owner of that polite speech. It was certainly Reiji's. "Accept?! For how much time we need to put up with this s**t? He made our lives hell and he's still forcing his orders on us?! Can't he just leave us alone?!" Another angry voice echoed inside the room. "Don't be like that, Subaru... At least he's giving us free food and we needn't to tire ourselves getting it..." I was barely able to hear the last one since it was so low. (Subaru said the sentence before...?) "And to make it more difficult... he said not to kill this one too... boring... right, teddy?" I figured who owned that voice too. I also felt a little relieved knowing that my life wasn't in danger, for now. "If I only knew what father is thinking..." Reiji said in a lower voice. It was silent after that. "Why don't we be extra harsh on her and break her quickly, so we won't able to get attached to her like Ayato did with Yui and at the same time get as much fun as possible?" My heartbeat got faster when I heard that. "And then the old man will lose interest in her and we can kill her then?" Another voice said. "Genius, Laito. But not as good as ore-sama though." "I know~ you'll thank me later for this." Another wave of silence. "Then it is settled. I will also give her extra work to tire her out. Make sure you take your actions to your room-" "Yeah yeah... we got that already. Somebody go fetch me some takoyakis. I'm starving." "Go bring them yourself. And do not interrupt me. Or shall I punish you this week?" I took a few steps back. (I think I shouldn't be hearing this...) I looked at my hands. They were shaking violently from what I heard. I realized after hearing their conversation that I shouldn't feel safe yet and I should expect a lot of pain to come my way. I went back to where I came from knowing that it wasn't a good time to go there but stopped when I saw the butler. He was carrying a tea set that I felt it was familiar. "Excuse me! Are you taking this to Reiji-san?" I said as I rushed to him. He nodded. "May I take it to him myself? Don't worry I'll tell him that I volunteered myself!" I said taking the set from the butler's hands and went back to the room again. I knocked the door. "Reiji-san. I brought your tea." The door opened. "Speaking of the devil. Here you are, b***h-chan." It was Laito. "Why do you have my tea?" Reiji gave me a cold glare as he asked me that. "I volunteered to get it to you since I wanted to talk to you." I answered honestly. "I think that I already told you that you are not in the place of as-" "I saw Yui, just a while ago. I think that I can help her." They all stood shocked for a moment. "What can a lowly human like you do to cure her?" "I can do a lot. At least more than your help. Leaving her to die like that..." I clenched my teeth in anger. "Heh! What makes you think that we would want to help her? She is just a blood bag that got empty so we left her to die!" Ayato said. (Like you're the one who should talk...) I restrained myself from saying that out loud to protect myself from harm. "I would believed you if I didn't find her in a comfy room with some medicine in her drawer. That only means that you actually cared for her and tried to treat her but she didn't get any better. That's when you gave up on her and left her to die. Probably to end her suffering too." "Don't talk like you know everything." I jumped slightly as Ayato suddenly appeared beside me and punched the wall I was standing next to. "That's the conclusion I came up with. It doesn't have to be completely true." I said not flinching so I won't give him an opening to attack me. "How can we trust your words?" Reiji finally said breaking the tension between the two of us. "I'm a book lover and I read a lot of books about human treating and medicine. Besides, I'm sure if she just eats properly and get a fair amount of sleep she'll be stronger in a short time." Everyone fell silent again. "I understand. List what you need in a paper and I shall bring them to you. If I find anything suspicious, you will be given punishment. Do you understand?" Reiji said in a firm voice. "Yes. I'm aware of that." I said looking him in the eye. He went back to his seat. I didn't move. "Do you require anything else?" The next step was harder than the first one. "I want to talk to my father..." They looked at each other. "Bwahahaha! What did she just say?" "You're really bold, b***h-chan~" "Still stupid though." I sat there enduring all the mocking and waiting for a proper answer. "Please, I won't say anything unnecessary. I just want to confirm something..." "I refuse to grant you that wish. Go back to your room immediately." Reiji closed the topic harshly. I wasn't going to give up that easily. "It's just one call... I'll talk in front of you so I won't ask for help or anything..." "Did you not understand what I told you? Do need to repeat myself so you can understand?" Reiji said in an annoyed tone. I sat on the floor to show him that I won't budge easily. "Ayato, take her out of here." He said Turing his back on me. "Don't order me around!" Ayato yelled at his brother. Seconds later he was looking at me. He sighed. "Fine. I'll do it. Just this time though cause this girl needs to be taught who has the upper hand here." He went my way. "Come on..." he said as he lifted me up from my waist. I quickly looked for a thing to get ahold of. I had nothing but the carpet. "Take me out of here and I'll be taking the floor with me!" I said holding the carpet tight in my hands. "Hey! Let go of it!" He said pulling me harder. That wasn't working because the harder he pulled, the harder I resist. Soon the carpet was moving with me as I didn't let go of it. "C-careful!" Said Laito who almost fell as the carpet moved under his feet. "Watch it-!" It was too late for Subaru as he tripped and fell on his back. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Let go of the carpet!" He yelled at me angrily. "I won't!" I said making my grip even harder. We stood there pulling and pushing for a while before Reiji finally said something. "I will allow just one call. Choose your words wisely." My eyes brightened as I jumped out of Ayato's grip. "Thank you! I really appreciate-" "Save your words. Use this. You have one minute. If you try to ask for help I will be taking that phone and ending the call. As a punishment you will not eat for three days. Am I clear?" Reiji spoke like a high class general. I gulped. "Yes sir." "Good." He handed me a phone. I nervously took it from his hand and dialed my father's number. I could hear the sound of my heartbeats as I was waiting for him to pick up. I froze as I heard his voice. "Hello?" He said picking up after three tries. "Father... it's me Nami..." I spoke unsure of what I would say. He stayed silent for a bit. "Who is this? I don't know know someone with your name." I was stunned. "W-what are you saying? It's me Nami, your daughter!" I said raising my voice so he can recognize me. "You see to be mistaken. I don't have a daughter." He said that and closed the line. I sat there eye-widened from what I just heard. (This can't be true...) I thought checking if I missed while entering the number. (It's right... then how-) My thoughts were interrupted as Reiji leaned and took the phone from my hand. "The minute is over. Now I will ask you to quietly go back to your room. I will be calling you when I acquire what you requested earlier." I was still in my place, not able to move after the huge shock. "b***h-chan~ are you still there?" I woke up as Laito waved his hands in front of my eyes. "Uh-huh..." I quietly nodded and stood up slowly. I went out of the door and closed it behind me. "Poor girl... seems like she just found out that she was abandoned. Hehee~" that was the last sentence I heard before leaving. I went back to my room and sat on the floor in front of the door. (Abandoned...) Laito's words echoed in my mind. I raised my head to look at the ceiling as I felt tears in my cheeks. When I realized it, I quickly wiped them away and stared to sort out my thoughts and plan for my future in this mansion... So Yui's body broke from all the abuse that she took from the brothers so she wasn't able to do what she was brought to do. In this story, I changed it and made it about helping the brothers to change instead of the whole Adam-Eve story. As you know all the brothers took a liking to Yui so they were hurt when she fell sick. This story takes progress after Yui's arrival as Nami takes Yui's place and mission. Nami is a lot stronger than Yui that's why she had a chance, that's what Karl Heinz thought. Is he right about that? Thank you for reading this chapter. Please leave a review before you leave.
