Chapter 14

A quick update no? Just felt like it :3 Answering the questions of my readers, as I already wrote, Yui was actually getting better drinking the medicine Reiji gave her but what was getting her back to stage one was the brothers drinking her blood over and over. When Nami came, the brothers ignored Yui and focused on Nami so she was able to get better. Nami also cooks breakfast for her every morning and that couldn't be done by vampires as they wake up in the afternoon. Reiji figured that she did the prank because of his high IQ and a certain pervert who sold out Nami for selling him out several times before ^^ I'm glad that the twist was actually liked! Look forward to what I have in stock for Nami ;) Disclaimer: I own nothing as the plot and the main character Nami belongs to Shiranai Atsune. The pranks are mine though :p "So, you found your family name in the list that belonged to the witches and warlocks families?" Reiji asked me unbelievably. "Yeah... I'm surprised myself... but that doesn't erase the chance of me being a normal human since as it is written here: not all of the children turn out to be like their parents as some of them become humans." I said looking at the book. "I would like to believe that if you did not just tell me about your healing abilities..." Reiji said flipping into a book as well. "We have that too..." I said leaving the book that was in my hands and looking into another one. "So... if it turns out that I was a witch, what will you guys do?" I asked looking at Reiji. "I would like to talk to my father about this first but I doubt that he did not know about this..." Reiji said thoughtfully. "Could he..." I said putting the book down again. "Brought me to kill all of you with my fearful powers since he grew bored of you?!" I said teasing the glasses vampire. "Could be... but I have to ask him before making judgments..." Reiji said not looking at me. I stood there frozen after hearing the 'could be' part. (Wow... the father is a scary man indeed to give his son such an image of himself...) I thought looking at the unfazed Reiji. "But really, after knowing this, will you tell the others and kill me?" Reiji finally looked at me and sighed. "As I said, the first thing I would do is to learn more about you and your kind, since I encountered none of you before. The second action I will take is to ask him about you and his propose for bringing you here. If he gives me an order to kill you, then I will not hesitate in doing so. If he does not, then you will keep living here and no one will harm you." Reiji said fully explaining his plan. I felt safe since I knew that Mr. Sakamaki somehow knew about me and thus he brought me here to help his sons. That too, I couldn't tell Reiji nor anyone about and decided to keep it a secret. "I see..." I found no words to reply as I was busy looking trough the history of my family. I kept reading and reading with no result as all of the books focused on the traits of each kind. I also found a part for 'demons' but that I didn't have time to read about so I saved it for later. "It appears that we will need more specific books about the current topic." Reiji said reading my mind. "I will search for more. You go and return these to their rightful places." He said pointing where should I put the books. I silently nodded and did what he told me. When I went back, I saw that he already came back before me and started to look into the new books he brought. "The history of witches and warlocks..." I read out loud then opened the thick book and began looking into its pages. Soon I found what I was looking for as I spotted my family name on the top of a page. (Looks like my family is somehow famous...) I thought as I saw a full section just for my family. (Let's see... origins, family trees, famous figures...) I read every title and decided that I'll start with the family trees first. When I opened the pages of the topic, I was amazed by how detailed and big the family trees were. It all made me dizzy so I went to the famous figures instead. There, I found information about powerful witches and warlocks that was feared a long time ago. I stopped when I read a familiar name... (Kyoko Kuromajo...) Without more waiting I began reading information about that woman: (One of the late founders and most powerful witches of all time. Known for her beautiful lavender hair and emerald eyes, this mighty witch sends vibes of fear into her enemies' hearts before eliminating them completely...) "Did you find anything useful?" Reiji asked me but I didn't care for that as I was focused on believing that my mom was actually a witch. (Skilled with all types of magic and even mastering spells that her superiors could not master, Kyoko Kuromajo never lost a battle and remained respected through her hundred years...) I stopped at that part. (Hundred years?! How so?! She appears young when I remember her...) I thought becoming confused. After reading that, my eyes traveled to the bottom of the page to find out what really happened to her. (Despite her heroic deeds and history, Kyoko Kurmajo vanishes suddenly someday. The last time she was seen with a human male and a little child. Nobody knew what happened to her after that.) That was it. My heart sank when I discovered that nothing was written about mom but that. I tried searching other books but they all offered the same information. "May I know what is the thing you found so interesting that you tend to ignore me for it?" I finally snapped out of it hearing Reiji's voice. "Sorry... it's just..." I said hesitating a bit. "I found my mother's name and..." "Your mother?!" Reiji interrupted me suddenly. "Yeah... seems like she was famous and powerful before. But it all ends there as all records on her stops when she marries my dad..." I said lowering my gaze towards the ground. "A human?" "Yes." "That explains it." Reiji said that and I shot him a glare after understanding what he meant. "If you are the daughter of a powerful witch like that, then you should at least be able to perform simple spells am I wrong?" Reiji said moving away from me and grabbing another book from his huge library. "What are you thinking?" I said reading the title of the book he brought: 'Spells and Charms'. (Why does he even keep a book like this here?) I thought confusedly. "It is exactly what you think: I am going to test your abilities. Here, try this." He said handing the book to me. I looked at it to see 'floating spells' on top. I blinked. "You want me to try this... like... right now?" I said thinking that it was a joke. "Do I look like I am joking?" He said reading my mind again. "No..." I said looking at the book. It was filled with weird writings and drawing but I was surprisingly able to read it. (This doesn't look so hard actually... I just need to focus...) I thought memorizing what was in front of me. "Float!" I suddenly yelled imitating heroes from movies that I watched. Nothing happened. But what made up for that was Reiji's surprised face as he jolted a bit from my sudden yell. "Looks like I was mistaken..." he said bored and took the book from my hand. I tried to snatch it back but he was too tall for me to reach so I stood there and started to focus my mind on reaching that book. Soon, I felt myself becoming light. When I looked down, I found that my legs no longer were in the ground. "Reiji..." I said trying to make him look at me. "I do not need to hear another word from you." "No really. You have to look at this..." I repeated. When he turned to look at me, I could see the surprised look again in his eyes as he watched me flow slowly away from the ground. "Astonishing... this is my first time witnessing this coming from a human..." he said as his eyes followed me. Seconds later, I found that his face began to become redder. I didn't understand the reason at first but when I did, the first thing I did was shouting: "YOU PERVERT!" Reiji once again jumped from my loud voice. "I beg your pardon?!" He yelled back. "How could you look under my skirt after reminding your brothers everyday of their manners?!" "I did not do such thing!" "Yes you did!" "I did not!" "Ugh!" I finally yelled after seeing that our argument won't get us anywhere. "Give me that!" I said taking the book from Reiji's hands since I my floating made me able to reach it. Quickly, before he could reach me, I flipped trough the pages to find some helpful spells. Unluckily, I was only able to memorize two spells as Reiji immediately snatched the book from my hand. "This shall not reach you as you can grow to be dangerous. I will look into your case. You can return to your room." Reiji said organizing the books on the table. "I would love to do so but... how?" I asked as I was still floating in air. "You should know. Just reverse your method and will be fine." He said advising me. I silently tried what he told me and thought that it was time to go down. Several seconds and I was on my butt rubbing the pain away. (Looks like I need to master this...) I thought standing up slowly. Seeing that Reiji was so busy with what he was doing gave me the courage to actually take a book from his library. It all went fine as I hid the book under my clothes and turned my back to him so he can't see it. "I have never in my life saw a square-shaped belly before. Perhaps it is new spell you're practicing?" I stopped when I heard Reiji's voice. Mentally face palming after being caught, I slowly turned and returned the stolen book to where it belonged. And before going, I took a peek to see Reiji's mocking face as he smiled widely. I gritted my teeth and went out silently but placed in mind that I'll be getting him back for that. (So I'm a witch... mom was too... but I never knew...) I thought looking down at my feet. With her dying when I was really young, my memories of her were hazy and vague. The only clear image of her that I kept in mind for many years was when we both went to a park. She was sitting under a tree, her beautiful long hair ruffling in the wind as she stared into the sky... (The book said that mom lived for a hundred years... and she was a young woman in my memories... so why did she die?) I asked myself suddenly. (Could anyone... have killed her...?) It didn't take me seconds to erase that negative thought out of my mind. Seeing that I wasn't going anywhere with that, I went to prepare a meal for myself so I can think about something else. That worked at the beginning but after about half an hour I started to think about that again. I even found a broom and thought that I could try and fly with it like imaginary witches do on tv. After putting my legs and adjusting myself on the broom, I began thinking that I wanted to fly using it. "..." it was really a disappointment to me that nothing happened so I silently kept staring at the unmoving broom. I was about to let go of the broom before I heard a quite voice saying behind me: "You need somebody to take a picture of you right now..." I literally jumped in my place and turned quickly to see a smirking Shuu looking at me. "Plain... really plain..." he said closing his eyes again. I wondered what that meant at first but then I saw the my skirt was slightly lifted up from behind. "PERVERT!" I yelled that for the second time that night. This time, I threw what I had in hand. It hit Shuu hard on the face with its stick and left a tall red mark on his face. When felt that, sleepy Shuu opened both his eyes and rubbed his newly hit face. "It's your fault for not noticing..." he said getting up. I backed away slowly. "You could've a least told me that instead of describing my panties!" I said growing nervous. Shuu looked at me. In seconds, his calm face turned into a sly one as a smirk appeared on his lip. "And what were you trying to do, playing little witch?" My face reddened as I realized that I messed up and allowed him to catch me doing stupid stuff. "Don't ever tell anyone about this!" I said still red faced. "But with you showing that... I'd rather call you little bitch..." Shuu said going into his own little world. "Hey! Are you listening?! And don't call me that! I don't need another one calling me b***h for no reason!" I said raising my voice. With that, Shuu finally looked at me. "If you want me to keep your secret, then you should give me something in return..." Shuu said then appeared right in front of me. Even with all of days I spent in the mansion, I still didn't get used to that teleportation of theirs. "It's always give and take for you guys isn't it?" I said in a low voice. Shuu ignored my comment and bit my neck. As always, I tend not to scream or make sounds to protect myself from more upcoming attacks. After seconds of Shuu biting me, I remembered that I need to know more about the sleepy-head vampire so with my hand I removed the locks that covered his face. That made him look at me with his azure eyes. I stared back and soon I found myself in front of a huge fire. My eyes widened seeing that the fire was burning an entire village. I looked around searching for Shuu. When I found him, I saw that he was next to me looking at the fire terrified. His ocean blue eyes were widened in fear and his jaw was opened in shock. He was muttering something to himself that I needed to get closer to hear. Before I could completely hear what he was saying, I opened my eyes to see the normal Shuu in front of me again. "You're sleepy?" He said out of the blue. "Huh?" "I'm asking if you're sleepy since you just slept while I was drinking you blood..." he said getting closer to my face. I backed away slightly confused from what he was saying. Then I remembered the excuse I gave to Laito for me spacing out like that. "Um... yes... I'm kind of sleepy..." I said recovering. Shuu stared at me for a while before leaving my neck and placing his head on my lap. "Shuu?!" I yelled shocked. "Don't be loud... I'm doing this since you don't seem to break nor die even with us drinking extra blood from you... that's why I think you'll stay here for a long time..." Shuu said and yawned at the end of his sentence. (Extra... does he mean more than Yui?) I wondered. "Sleep." Shuu ordered me. "Like this?" He nodded. "I'm doing you a favor... so don't make me change my mind..." he said slowly before going back to sleep. I sat there dumbfounded. Shuu was slightly heavy but that wasn't the reason I didn't push him away. As much as I wanted to kick him and run for my life, my inner mind kept telling me that I should go with the flow and not ruin his good mood. But staying like that made me think about Subaru. Last time, he looked angry when I told him about Ayato and Laito. So I thought that wouldn't he be angry if he saw the sleeping Shuu on my lap? Thinking about Subaru's angry face and the sound of him breaking stuff made me secretly hope that he takes a good nap for the rest of the night. The last thing I thought about was the vision I just saw from Shuu's past. It was short, but very dark as an entire village was burning! Why Shuu was there? And what business did he have with a human village? Those questions kept roaming in my mind without an answer as my eyes began to close slowly. One more thing kept echoing in my mind and I didn't know why. It was a name, and that name... was Edgar. Subaru's part is coming soon. The mother's story will be revealed later and it may be shocking a bit. Leave a review to tell me what you thought of this! See you next Sunday!
